In short, DON'T! Email notices are to ONLY alert you of a reply to your private message or your ad on this site. Replying to the email just wastes your time as it goes NOWHERE, and probably pisses off the person you thought you replied to when they think you just ignored them. So instead of complaining to me about your messages not being replied to from this site via email, please READ that email notice that plainly states what you need to do in order to reply to who you are trying to converse with.

Yeah, I know. They are a pain in the butt. But they pay the bills to keep my server running. Just a fact of life, I am afraid.

Want to get rid of them? Simple. Just become a Contributor level member or above and they will be gone. -> Please click HERE."

Is that too much for me to ask of you to keep this site running? Well, sorry about that. I too wish I could get everything for free. But alas.....

Google Adsense ad revenue for December, 2025 was just $30 over the cost of the lease for the server running this site. So, in effect, the money providing the incentive for me to continue running this site is coming SOLELY from the paid memberships and sponsorships here. Which honestly ain't much....

Inquiry POSSIBLE STOLEN RAPTORS BEING SOLD IN USA BY CHRIS KEENEY

You're not interested right? :p

I am not sure, maybe the market price or a little less. He probably tells people it's easy because they're already in the US, but there are legit Raptors in the US available and I could send legit ones again.

How much is Chris attempting to sell the snakes for? Sorry if it's here and I missed it.
Myself (Florida Redtails and California Redtails along with Garrett Peck and other breeders have already stated if anyone buys these from Chris Keeney we will never sell to them or buy from them. They will be black listed.

I don't think Kevin ever said where he saw the ads.

Also was there ever any discussion about Chris getting compensation for taking care of the snakes, feeding them, shipping them, etc. until they were sold? Caring for a few boas isn't a ton of work but most keepers are not in a position to set up and quarantine 16 new arrivals on top of their current collection.

No sir. Just interested in how much one would try to sell a stolen snake of that value for. I have no interest at all in them. I hope you get your snakes or money you're owed.

Eabele,
Since the authorities seem to have deemed this to be a civil matter, you may want to pursue a couple of other avenues. Not sure about California law, but you may be able to place a lien against his home for the damages. This would stay against his home (if he owns one) and would have to be resolved before he could sell it.
Also, for a $100,000 worth of sales, I think the IRS would like to know that Chris is the fine upstanding business man that he claims to be, and is reporting all of the income from these sales.
I haven't seen, or maybe missed it, reading through this entire thread, have you actually contacted an attorney in California? Well meaning police officers with law degrees and even retired officers, such as I, cannot truly represent your interests fully. I would think with the evidence you appear to have in written form, an attorney would take this case on a contingency fee basis. Two thirds would be better than nothing. At least he could force this guy to produce the evidence he claims to have through court action. An attorney may be able to get an order to stop him from selling any of the snakes until the matter is resolved. Having dealt with people like this for over 30 years, you will not get any satisfaction from him through this site nor other social media sites. I hope you continue to pursue legal action. Good luck with it.

I agree this is the next step. Having been through the civil court system more than once for deadbeat tenants, typically you need a judgement before you can put a lien on his home (assuming he owns and doesn't rent) or have his wages garnished.

I would also move quickly as Chris complained on his Facebook page about the new gun control laws that were just passed in CA and he mentioned leaving the state.

A civil judgment isn't an ATM, it's the court agreeing that the Plantiff is owed what he claims the Defendant owes him. Nothing more, nothing less. 2/3 of zero is still zero... guys like this are almost always in "cash businesses" and rarely own property, and any lawyer worth anything is going to run a credit check on this Keeney fellow and see if it's even worth his time. No lawyer is going to look at this and say "Heck yeah I'm taking this case, that's 1/3 of 100 grand for me if I win!"

"Winning", in this case, is the first step in a very long road of actually getting any money. The only way a non-desperate lawyer would take this on contingency is if the Defendant was a man of means and owned a lot of assets, or if it was a company with insurance for such purposes.

Not saying he can't do it, but you shouldn't make it appears as if it's going to be as easy as ringing up a high-powered attorney and saying "Hey man, what if I told you I had an open and shut case worth $100K?"

Hi Tom

Didn't realize that I said or implied that it would be easy. My point was to actually talk to an attorney to get some real advise on how to proceed.

I don't see an attorney taking this case on contingency either, and while most slimeballs are cash-only so that it's difficult to collect even if you win a court case against them, Chris Keeney does own his house - 5 BR 3 BA SFH with pool - according to a search of public records.

Keeney has plenty of assets to be ceased. Getting paid isn't a problem. It's just getting it before a Judge. I think Eabele is more interested in return of the boas and compensation for time and money dealing with this matter

I know I have to update you all. I will post more soon.

I have done as much as I could, traveled the world to Chris Keeneys house, trying to get a hold of him, and make him change his mind. Nothing helped.

This situation bothers me a lot and it came on top of a burnout I got from work, so I have trouble coping with it all. Still trying to be positive, and my attorney is working on the case. I decided to let him deal this miserable situation.

Thanks,

Eabele.

Eabele,
Extremely SORRY you're still going through this agonizing situation! Yet through all this, you still have a GREAT ATTITUDE, my hats off to you!

That's what you pay an Attorney for, let him/her handle it.

GUARANTEED, Chris will get what he has coming...

Eabele again, let the Attorney do his/her thing, and you find something positive to occupy your mind.

I Can't Stress it Enough, AVOID Chris Keeney Like the PLAGUE, He CAN'T BE TRUSTED, PERIOD!

Hopefully you have a decent attorney. I found this ad is on Kingsnake. Are these your boas, or did Chris pay for these two? If they are yours I would ask your attorney to file an injunction ASAP to stop the sale.

Thanks for that! No he didn't pay for them. I will gather it as evidence!

Anyone who sees them get offered, please notify me :)
