• Responding to email notices you receive.

In short, DON'T! Email notices are to ONLY alert you of a reply to your private message or your ad on this site. Replying to the email just wastes your time as it goes NOWHERE, and probably pisses off the person you thought you replied to when they think you just ignored them. So instead of complaining to me about your messages not being replied to from this site via email, please READ that email notice that plainly states what you need to do in order to reply to who you are trying to converse with.

Yeah, I know. They are a pain in the butt. But they pay the bills to keep my server running. Just a fact of life, I am afraid.

Want to get rid of them? Simple. Just become a Contributor level member or above and they will be gone. -> Please click HERE."

Is that too much for me to ask of you to keep this site running? Well, sorry about that. I too wish I could get everything for free. But alas.....

    Addendum: 01/10/2026
    =====================

Google Adsense ad revenue for December, 2025 was just $30 over the cost of the lease for the server running this site. So, in effect, the money providing the incentive for me to continue running this site is coming SOLELY from the paid memberships and sponsorships here. Which honestly ain't much....

Most of these scammers; or at least this fool, have no idea what we're selling. So they copy the ad title and paste it to the email. The word 'Lightbulb' was the Lightbulb emoji at the beginning of the ad title. I've been attaching an emoji to all my ad titles because of this.

They've been emailing me as well....

Hi,

The pricing has not changed, as far as I know they're the only ones available in the country.

still up for sale get back to me with the final asking price

I've been getting lots of texts and call from scammers lately also. Its obvious they have no idea who what we have for sale. Texts are written very poorly and are formated the same way. Got 2 last night from the same number. They read like this...

Gonatodes fuscus - Dwarf Geckos - 0.0.2 for $150 Still up for sale?let me know the price

The thing is, the price is listed on my ads. The couple times in the past that I have replied, they always need my name and address to me a send money order or something.

The numbers are always different when they call. They don't leave messages. I know it's a scammer because my phone shows that the number called twice at the same exact time when I actually only had them call once. Weird eh?

It's lame this keeps happen because I get most of my business selling animals through texts and calls. Now I won't answer unknown numbers. I could post all the phones numbers from these people but I don't think it matters.

Give them the address of your local sheriff or police department so they waste time and postage sending the fake cashier's check.

What does this prove? Everyone knows gmail is Google and Google is in Mountain View.
Everybody? Lol, I had no idea where Google's headquarters are located. Anyways, isn't having the IP address of some value? - or is that's Google's too?

All of these are from the last 4-5 weeks. From text or the double call at once thing.

I think these are real numbers to people who have nothing to do with whoever is sending the text or calling. Somehow they are able to use existing phone numbers to seem legitimate.

There could me more numbers that called too. I have had a big influx of missed calls with no voice mail left. Could be unrelated though.

Yes that's google's IP address. Type it into address bar and google search page pops up.

Yeah this is totally a scam. I have received several e mails very similar to this a few months back. Same concept just different names. Good catch!

Soooo yea. I guess they figured id be dumb enough to fall for it. Heres the email and txt i got from them. Glad i looked this up

Just an FYI, Textnow will generate a phone number for the user that is different than their actual phone number. Users are able to create as many as they want.

If I were to see a text now signature like the one in the first picture above me, I would avoid that person like the plague.

So now they are texting me from a different number, saying I will be getting the cashier's check they sent in the mail today. Lol this should be interesting. Imma send them a pic of me tearing the check up.The numbers that have texted me so far.
