In short, DON'T! Email notices are to ONLY alert you of a reply to your private message or your ad on this site. Replying to the email just wastes your time as it goes NOWHERE, and probably pisses off the person you thought you replied to when they think you just ignored them. So instead of complaining to me about your messages not being replied to from this site via email, please READ that email notice that plainly states what you need to do in order to reply to who you are trying to converse with.

Yeah, I know. They are a pain in the butt. But they pay the bills to keep my server running. Just a fact of life, I am afraid.

Want to get rid of them? Simple. Just become a Contributor level member or above and they will be gone. -> Please click HERE."

Is that too much for me to ask of you to keep this site running? Well, sorry about that. I too wish I could get everything for free. But alas.....

    =====================

Google Adsense ad revenue for December, 2025 was just $30 over the cost of the lease for the server running this site. So, in effect, the money providing the incentive for me to continue running this site is coming SOLELY from the paid memberships and sponsorships here. Which honestly ain't much....

Bad Guy AVOID Don Leydig and Amy Leydig of "Poor Boy Pythons" Bedford, PA

Did this deal originate on Fauna? Just curious.

I've noticed that you posted this same question on a lot of boi threads. Not sure why it matters. I would guess that more scams start on facebook, but those people don't all know about this website to post. So you may see more that were deals from fauna because those people are more likely to come here to post a bad guy thread. This website helps people research who and who not to buy from. But I see bad guy threads daily on facebook, too.

Is it against fauna's policy to ask questions? I ask because I am curious.
I think that a lot of scams stem on fauna and facebook with very very very little coming from websites that you have to PAY to list (ie Kingsnake).

I think fauna creates its own problems by letting everyone with a keyboard register.

Asking the question is fine...continuing to make that comment on the BOI is not. You've been expressing negative sentiments about this site for some time, now; yet you continue to visit the site, and make disruptive posts in the classifieds & refuse to comply with the the rules regarding your location (which reminds me, I owe you an infraction from earlier today). I'm sure that you've already been told; but the place to discuss your thoughts on the free classifieds issue is the Site Assistance and Feedback Forum. Feel free to start a thread on the matter there...or, you could look up the thread from when the paid membership requirement for the classifieds was removed after a year, and use the existing thread. (Heck, you might even read it first, which would be helpful to everybody that is going to be involved.)

Thank you nickolasanastasiou and tlmoon. And hypocomaro this deal was not affiliated with Fauna at all. It's just an outlet to expose the party involved for who they are and to warn others about the Leydigs of Poor Boy Pythons.

I just wanted to post an update that I have gotten just about all of the mites under control as of now so I'll continue to treat them to be sure all eggs are gone and they'll be sure to have preventative steps taken to ensure they never get mites again. They have both also gotten much better with the respiratory infections. I have gotten their breathing almost silent. No more wheezing. Amazing what proper care can do.

I'm glad to hear they're both doing great. Thanks for the heads up on this guy.

Just an update to those who followed this thread... the retics are doing great now and the mites and respiratory infections are long gone at this point. Spent a few hundred dollars at my vet on URI treatments and testing but it was well worth it to see the recovery of these gorgeous snakes. Don Leydig is still most certainly someone to avoid when dealing with live animals.

Very nice to hear and glad they are in safe capable hands
Yea the vets bills can add up but thats just part of this hobby and the love of the critters we take into our care.
Good luck!

Good to hear, glad they are doing better with good care in your hands!

Not trying ro be rude but you definitely should have had a better look at the snakes. I would never have paid for two retics without a physical, visual inspection especially out the back of some vehicle at night

Just wanted to update everyone that Don Leydig has since gotten rid of the name "Poor Boy Pythons" and now has a Facebook page called "Black Dog Reptiles" as of September 8, 2018 and is sadly still active in the reptile hobby. Please read what happened in this post if you are thinking of doing business with Don Leydig. Two beautiful rare reticulated pythons died due to his negligence and who knows how many other animals.

After reading this thread, I don't doubt that for a minute, but can you post the source of that info? I'm not defending Don at all, but the BOI asks for proof of statements made.

Thank you :)
I am the source. The retics mentioned were the ones from Don Leydig that died shortly after getting them from him. They've been dead for two years. Lol

It's a little confusing because 3 months after the deal you posted this update:

When did the retics die? Were necropsies performed to determine cause of death?

thank you

The retics that "are doing great now and the mites and respiratory infections are long gone at this point", over three and a half months after your transaction with him? You're trying to pin the deaths of snakes that, in your words, fully recovered and were healthy, back on him? Obviously, he was a terrible keeper, but that's not a good look on you...

Something tells me you're going to need to clarify this timeline if you want anyone to take your warning seriously now...
