    In short, DON'T! Email notices are to ONLY alert you of a reply to your private message or your ad on this site. Replying to the email just wastes your time as it goes NOWHERE, and probably pisses off the person you thought you replied to when they think you just ignored them. So instead of complaining to me about your messages not being replied to from this site via email, please READ that email notice that plainly states what you need to do in order to reply to who you are trying to converse with.

    Google Adsense ad revenue for December, 2025 was just $30 over the cost of the lease for the server running this site. So, in effect, the money providing the incentive for me to continue running this site is coming SOLELY from the paid memberships and sponsorships here. Which honestly ain't much....

The Quick Reply box is gone...it was here for a while after the upgrade. Not a huge deal, and it may well have been intentional...I'll learn to deal with it
 
Hmmm, that's what it is.

I knew something was missing down there, but couldn't place it....duh.
 
I'm pretty sure there was a Quick Reply icon, too...right next to the multi-quote

I remember specifically, because I have no idea what the "multi-quote" button does, and I was scared I was gonna hit the wrong one. :eek:
 
The multiquote is a nice feature when you come into a hot topic. Just click the multiquote in each post you want to address, then click post reply...all the posts you clicked on will be quoted in your reply screen. (I recommend narrowing each down to key phrases or sections, when possible)

No more cutting and pasting onto wordpad....lol. I like it!
 
(Lest anybody think that I had a clue what it was when it first popped up, I didn't...but I have a habit of clicking things to find out what happens, and trying to figure it out if it isn't immediately obvious. The hard part NOW is that, as a new Mod with new accesses and new toys, I'm not always sure what I am supposed to be able to do vs what I can do because I am a mod. I don't think I have deleted anything I shouldn't have, though - a special thanks to all the friends that tried and/or checked things for me, lol)

To me that says you can add tags - and, yes, you are supposed to be able to do that. (I don't know if that is controlled by membership level yet or not...but I would guess it is)

Editing them, IMO, would be changing or deleting existing tags

No I can't delete tags, unless they are mine. So that's good.

I would think only the OP or Mods would be able to add tags to a post. Seems like there could be potential for abuse this way. But that is just my opinion.

Which is why I suspect adding tags will end up requiring at least a Contributor level membership.Yes, the potential for abuse is there...but if anything inappropriate is seen, it will be removed.

I don't see a problem with people tagging their own threads, or even interested readers doing it to make the topic easier to find....I'll go out on a limb and suggest that if it were being put on the moderators to go around adding tags, we'd petition Rich to remove that feature, lol.
