I do not have concrete proof that this individual, who has continued to badger me by email and harass me by phone about selling my animals to them, has the intention of flipping my animals. But I, and others whom I have consulted, feel the circumstantial evidence to support this is strong enough to post my experience on the BOI.
This person, screen name “gorgeousreptiles”, goes by the name Blanch McAdam, Aaron Yepet, Dan Sason, and Yepet Reptiles. He used the email address [email protected] to first contact me regarding an ad I posted on kingsnake for 2.0 Pastels and 0.1 Spider ball pythons on 8/23/2008.
Below is a record of our correspondence. I have omitted the irrelevant content from a few of the emails.

let me know what is available at this time.i am seeking a young juv and a adult breeder for bumblebee or pastel jungle.

Blanch,
I have a female spider available for $XXX. I also have two male pastels for $XXX each. If you wanted to do a bumblebee package I could take $XX off of the total, which would then be $XXX + shipping. They are all 2008 animals meaning the female would probably be ready to breed in 2 years, 3 at the most. Either of the male pastels would be of breeding size next season (winter of 2009-2010). If you have any more questions, feel free to ask.
Thank you for your interest!

I am out of town until Monday but will send updated pictures as soon as I get back. I charge a flat rate of $50 for shipping via Fed Ex to the lower 48. Where are you located?
The total for both male pastels, shipping included, would be $XXX. For just one of the pastels, $XXX shipped.
You can reach me at XXX-XXX-XXXX after 8 pm central time tomorrow. (It is a cell phone and my other half has it until then.) If for some odd reason I can't get to the phone, just leave a message with your phone number and I will call you right back.
I am sorry I can't get pictures to you sooner! If you have any questions just give me a call tomorrow evening or anytime this weekend.
Thanks,

hi thanks,so for the 2 male pastels, everything plus shipping to zip 98115 will cost $XXX and that's it right?i am located in Seattle,WA.how is the payment done?
please send updated pics of the 2 males with the word GUILDFORDBAITSERVICES written on a paper and placed beside the morphs.
cheers,blanch

** Please try to keep from jumping on me about falling for this. I am very new to selling animals on the internet. I had heard of scammers trying to steal pictures of expensive morphs and collect money for the animals which they don’t own, but I never thought they would bother with relatively low-value morphs like what I was selling. I know now that I was wrong to send them pictures with their names in the pictures. I have learned my lesson the hard way and will never post/email another picture of any of my animals without a watermark on it. Please keep this in mind while you read further.

Blanch,
I couldn't fit all of the pictures on this email so I had to send two. The three pictures in this email are of male #1. He weighs in at 78g on empty. In the last picture, the card got cut off but I felt it was the best representation of his color. He is more orange on his sides than his brother. Pastel male #2 is more yellow overall and weighs 91g on empty. They are both feeding on live hopper mice.
I prefer payment via postal money order, but also accept PayPal payments for an additional fee- $10.00 in your case. I don't like using this method because of the fee they charge to do the transaction. If you decide on purchasing these two, please read over the terms section on my website and I will email you with the info or you can call me at XXX-XXX-XXXX and we can do it over the phone.
The total for both animals, including shipping, will be $XXX if you decide to pay with postal money order. If you would prefer PayPal, the total will be $XXX.
If you have any more questions, feel free to call or email.

I'm glad you like the pastels! I took pics of the spider with the card as you requested. Additional pics of her are on my website. The lighting is better on those than the ones I took last night. I took a weight on her before feeding last night, 159g. She is eating live adult mice.

There will be an additional $15 shipping fee if you decide to get the spider female also. Here is a breakdown of the cost:

**OMITTED**

I require the total to be paid in full to myself before I ship the animals.
I will be home today after 5 p.m. central time, feel free to call!

hi thanks,i will call you after work later today.

**I received a phone call from a strange phone number. The number that showed up on my phone was “+019”. The call was extremely broken up even though I had full service on my phone. The voice on the other end said their name was Blanch, although the voice was most definitely that of a man. He had a foreign accent but I couldn’t tell what it was because the call was so broken up. He also asked if I had any piebalds (the other morph mentioned in his ads). I told him no. He then started quizzing me about how he would know that I really had the snakes etc. and that I needed to prove some way that I had hatched them. Foolishly, I agreed to “prove it” with the same method as before, with their name on the card with the parents.

On 9/4/08, Catie Casperson <[email protected]> wrote:
Hi Blanch,
I'm sorry I lost you on the phone earlier. I don't know if the connection was bad or what. I couldn't dial the number that showed up on the caller ID to call you back either. I included pictures of both sets of parents with your name on the card. The normals in the pictures are the females.
I have feeding records of all the babies we hatch from the time they were born, which I include for you when I ship.
I am not sure if you heard me before the phone cut out but we are currently not working with piebalds. The last morphs we have are the 2.0 pastels and 0.1 spider that you are interested in.
I work at 4 p.m. today so if you try calling back and I don't answer just leave a message and I'll call you back tomorrow.

i will pay for them as soon as possible...hopefully when i call you will be there to talk.

**I started to get sick of being jerked around so I decided to google/search the BOI for “Blanch McAdam” and found nothing. Then I tried “Aaron Yepet” and found this ad on domesticsale.com

and pastels.get to know better

Aaron Yepet (Livingston Manor, New York)

** Note his location is in NY and Blanch’s is in WA. This concerned me so I decided to ask a respected member of BP.net what they would do in this situation. She told me to back out of the deal, which I did. I tried to be polite because I thought they just didn’t have the money and were trying to drag it out until they could pay for it. I also looked up the number that showed up on my caller ID and found out that it is a foreign number. For the sake of not being charged a large sum to answer these calls, I stopped answering them.

Hi thanks for emailing to keep me informed on your next plan of action but please don't sell the animals to some one else.I have the money to pay for them plus i also tried to call your number yesterday to discuss with you in person since i called the other day and spoke to a certain male.yet again no one was there to answer.
i will have my fiancee pay for the animals as soon as possible.

cheers,
Blanch

**This was the day that he called me 8 times. I don’t have the exact times but recall there were 8 phone calls over the course of the day. Two were earlier in the day, but later he called me 6 times in a row from the foreign number . Trying to be fair and not assume the worst in this person, I sent the following email thinking that perhaps he would clear up the discrepancies over the phone.

On 9/13/08, Catie Casperson <[email protected]> wrote:

**It was this night that I was surfing BP.net and found a link to a classified of someone who had just joined. The email was [email protected] . The add read:

2.0 pastel ball morphs $225 each,0.1 female juvenile spider ball for $350 and 13 young newly hatched 100% visual piebalds now available.Plus i have morphs still hatching new clutches for piebalds, bumblebees and albinos.
feel free to contact me in case you need anything [email protected]

**Given the nature of their frantic telephone calls, I concluded that it was because they had re-listed the animals they were going to buy from me for more money than I was charging them. I then contacted a moderator on BP.net and let them know of my situation.

On 9/16/2008 at 6:24a.m. I received the first phone call from this same foreign number. I was not happy so I pressed the ignore button. Between then and 9:21a.m. I received 10 calls from this person. I did not answer any of them. They called three more times later that day, making it a total of 13 calls. I was very sick of being harassed like this so I sent the following email:

On 9/16/08, Catie Casperson <[email protected]> wrote:
Blanch,
I will NOT be selling you the animals. Seeing as you have called me from the foreign number more than 16 times in the last two days after my request for you not to do so I will be contacting my phone provider to inform them of this harassment. You are not to contact me by phone, email, U.S. post, or in person from this date forward (September 16th, 2008). I will be printing a dated copy of this email as proof that I have informed you to stop your attempts to contact me. I will also be keeping records of all our correspondences as proof that the pictures I sent to you belong to me and that neither you nor Aaron Yepet have any affiliation with me or the animals in the pictures. Neither you nor Aaron Yepet have any right to use these pictures for your own gains nor are either of you to re-post these pictures or misrepresent these animals pictured in any way.

we are ready to pay for them as soon as possible, but i just need to work out every details accordingly...please understand.

my regards,
Blanch
Later that day…
please Catie,i really want to have your snakes.i apologise if i actually bugged you trying to reach you on the phone.like i did mention earlier, you can however include the additional call cost into the sum total.
hope to read from you again.

**Here is a copy of a message I sent to the moderator who was helping me. It contains links to places where this person posted
“Ok, so I had some spare time this afternoon and did some research. I started by googleing [email protected] and found the same ad on two sites:

VenomousReptiles.org

http://www.venomousreptiles.org/clas...s/detail/25654

And some classified site:

http://www.magickclassifieds.com/200...e__a14638.html

On the classified site he/she goes by the name of Dan Sason from New York and gives the phone number: 604-550-7000.

So i googled Dan Sason, didn't find anything. So I googled the phone number and found this:

http://800notes.com/Phone.aspx/1-604-550-7000

Anyway, I think I'm going to change my phone number just for piece of mind. I sent him/her an email saying what you said to include and also said that I didn't give him or aaron yepet permission to use my photographs or misrepresent my animals as their own. He emailed me back and said he still wanted to buy them etc. Etc. and have them shipped to CA this time. I don't think I am going to reply. Perhaps ignoring him is the best thing.”

I am sorry to make this a novel, but I don’t want anyone to make the same mistakes that I did. If someone searches for this person on the BOI I want them to know what they may be getting themselves into. I have learned the hard way about how to protect pictures on the internet. Fortunately I did not ship my animals out to this person and had no monetary exchanges with him.

Catie, if you can perhaps you can post photos of your snakes here so everyone can see them and be on the lookout at other sites. Before you post them, however, add a large watermark or text for Casperson Reptiles so they are clearly marked as belonging to you. You'll also create a permanent record here that way.

Here's a fake phone number

Here's an ad they are currently running at Venomous Reptiles.org, under the user name "gorgousreptiles" and "guildfordbaitservices" email addy. The phone number listed is 604-550-7000, which is a totally phony number .. a spoof number even! Maybe someone will recognize that photo, which somehow I doubt is theirs.
Link: http://www.venomousreptiles.org/classifieds/detail/25654

Buyers AND sellers beware!

They also advertised at BPNet under the name "gorgeousreptiles". Due to the concerns over these people (prior to this BOI thread), their ad was removed and their account banned.

Ok, so this person hasn't given up yet. I had my friend reply to one of their ads to see if they used the pictures. He claimed that he was out of town and didn't have any at this time. I did get to scan the IP address, which happened to be the EXACT same IP as ANOTHER potential buyer that has been emailing me. The location of the IP, according to IP2Location.com, is in Sunnyvale, CA. I have two more identities to ad to the list-

"Mel W"- [email protected], the "potential buyer"

"Aaron Reptiles"- the name that comes up from the email he used in his recent ads, [email protected]

hello, i am interested in a few snakes that i seen that you posted. i'm interested in one of the pastels and a spider. i would like to breed them together someday are they the same species? i am new to the hobbie and would like to get a quick start. do you have any adults for sale? also how much are you asking for an albino? i hope to hear from you soon!
Chris

I really hope people won't fall for this SCAM!

After you told me about how they got you to put their names on your pictures, Catie, I figured this was the deal. Sorry that this has happened and it's a harsh way to learn. You've done the right thing by posting this thread at the BOI and anywhere else you can find a trace of them.

I can't believe I didn't see through it. I just never thought they would bother with pastels and spiders instead of all the high dollar morphs out there. They do say that hindsight is 20-20 though.

Just wanted to let you guys know that he's still at it! I just got an email from him and from [email protected].

Hello,
Thanks for your email and sorry if i am getting back to you late.hopefully you are still interested. Here is my current availability.

I still have a female spider ball available for $350. I also have two male pastels for $125 each and 1 albino male juvenile, $300 and an albino het for 100. They are all late 2008/early 2009 animals meaning the female would probably be ready to breed in a year, 2 at the most.

I have clutches still hatching for bumblebees, piebalds and albinos! my partner also has young piebalds available now.
Shipping cost is extra, are you located in the USA? you can email me your address information and zip code or postal code and your order for a complete quote if you'd like.
I charge a flat rate of $50 for overnight shipping to all of the US and Canada. i am a registered and licensed with the customs livestock export department of Kribi.
I deliver effectively in styro boxes, well heated this winter to ensure a healthy arrival of all my shipments.

If you have any more questions, feel free to ask.

thanks,Aaron
