I didn't know that fauna had a board of inquiry. This has been such a helpful thread and I will be sure to check out anyone I deal with since I sell herps in lots each season. I caution others to do the same since to prevent getting into this sort of situation.

This guy is a real nasty....Apparently he sets people up for a sale without their consent and then harasses them to death and threatens them, their homes, their families, and the snakes, so they will pay for reptiles they never agreed to buy. His game is to do whatever it takes.


Isn't there anything the authorities can do? My husband is working with the police dept today or I'd ask him. But you know, I have a friend who is a cop and a rattlesnake breeder, maybe I'll drop him a line.

Just based on what I read..since you say the animals came to you without any invitation on your part, you never asked for them, who was home to receive them?

Some time ago, I spent some time reading the older posts and I have come across his name. I believe I followed one thread at one time...with so many "bad" guys, it becomes hard to keep track. I am learning.

Thanks Shrap, for reinforcing what I said. Like I said, I don't know him. Don't know what kind of man he is and do not care to find out for myself. I do know that if I received some snakes unasked, and was then threatened..etc..I would send them BACK..for me that's a no brainer. I don't need people like Sloan in my life (and I do have rifles and guns that I am not afraid to use).

However..one thing that sticks out is that no one is denying that she has his snakes. If she wants the matter to end, imo, she should send back the snakes and not be worrying about what he's going to do with them. They are his and even if it turns out that he's an "Indian" giver...(I HATE that term) this saga can be ended very fast in her favor by returning them.

The law may/will ask those same questions that Bsharrah and I am asking...and if she has no proof, that they were sent to her unasked, left on her doorstep, had no idea that they were coming..had no relationship with him before, didn't even know him...etc...she's not going to fare very well.

And....regardless if Lisa (Marissa?) is being completely truthful....there is no justifying the things Bob Sloan has done or is doing. (If she is being less than truthful, I do wish she'd just come clean and be honest, let folks help her...) Threatening her children? I don't care if she took $1000 worth of his snakes right out from under his nose, there's NO excuse for it. I already asked earlier if perhaps just sending back these snakes could end the whole ordeal....but I think he just enjoys tormenting people.

And regardless of whether of not those pics of Bob look "happy" or whatever....the man has serious psychological issues, and should have been locked up a long time ago and the key thrown away. He's not just a "bad guy", he's a complete psycho, who self-admittedly "has no conscience".

You may be right. You know him better than I do...but like I said earlier

I'm thinking he thought he found an innocent, a "dupe" if you will, someone he could befriend to get him closer to his goal (the bullsnakes) as the owner would not sell to him.

He sent "gifts" to "soften up the beachhead", she didn't budge, and now we are looking at the fallout.

There is still some confusion for me pertaining to the names he calls you, Lisa. He seems to say you are not who you say you are. On the other forum, to be fair, your profile says you live in PA and in this one NE. Could be you just moved so I'm not terribly concerned about it, just curious.

Why would he send her a nude picture out of the blue? Why isn't there a number of females that have made this same complaint? Most of the links I had read usually had a snake involved and stealing money. I haven't read any posts (except the one by Angel) that claim that he started sending women presents for nothing and then harassing them out of the blue and threatening them for nothing (but I could be wrong and often am).

I respect your decision to think that it's ok for her to keep his snakes. Mine is "When you poke a bear you can expect to get bit."

Deb, this guy is truely sick and I don't think there is any level he would not sink to to achieve a percieved goal.

He has a history of threatening, degrading and insulting women (including me) so this is just another layer of the onion, to me.

She most likely started out being polite to him. In his twisted mind he "had her" at that point and felt he could get her to go along with his ultimate plan to get those snakes. In his mind he is now entitled to them.

Bob Sloan's thinking process has nothing to do with reality, Deb. Remember that we are dealing with an unstable entity here and you might begin to glimpse what she's been dealing with.

BTW, Lisa, don't for one second think he's not dangerous. But for geography I have not doubt he would try to hurt you and your daughters if he could.

Deb....maybe you've never spent much time in any kind of chat room (other than perhaps here). I used to frequent a couple of Yahoo chat rooms....they were a "dogs" chat room, and a "pets and animals" chat room, and I had some pretty good friends there. However....while innocently chatting with those friends, I got IMs on a regular basis of nude men, or just their "daddy parts"....all you had to do was be polite to them in an innocent conversation.

I went into a "teens" chat room one night, out of curiousity as to what my daughter was seeing if I let her go into Yahoo chat (mind you, this was specifically a chat area supposedly for kids under 18) and got MORE naked pics there.

There's a LOT of sick people online. No "poking a bear" needed.
