In short, DON'T! Email notices are to ONLY alert you of a reply to your private message or your ad on this site. Replying to the email just wastes your time as it goes NOWHERE, and probably pisses off the person you thought you replied to when they think you just ignored them. So instead of complaining to me about your messages not being replied to from this site via email, please READ that email notice that plainly states what you need to do in order to reply to who you are trying to converse with.

Yeah, I know. They are a pain in the butt. But they pay the bills to keep my server running. Just a fact of life, I am afraid.

Want to get rid of them? Simple. Just become a Contributor level member or above and they will be gone. -> Please click HERE."

Is that too much for me to ask of you to keep this site running? Well, sorry about that. I too wish I could get everything for free. But alas.....

Google Adsense ad revenue for December, 2025 was just $30 over the cost of the lease for the server running this site. So, in effect, the money providing the incentive for me to continue running this site is coming SOLELY from the paid memberships and sponsorships here. Which honestly ain't much....

Bad Guy PVCCAGES.COM

PVCCages good guy

I have purchased several full size pvc cages from Jim and during the transactions called him a couple times on the phone to confirm my custom requirements, shipping etc. Even had to call him when cages arrived with shipping damage. Jim was very professional on the phone and we talked business, he wasn't interested in idle chit chat or anything else. He was very prompt, professional and handled the shipping damage problems right away very satisfactorily.

I wouldn't hesitate to purchase from Jim again, he may not be the smoothest talker around but he sure makes a nice cage and about as prompt as any cage maker can be. I have recommended Jim's caging to several people along the way and will continue to do so.

Rob, take pics of the misaligned back frame piece and send it off to Jim, I'm sure he'll work with you to make sure that the rack you purchased meets/exceeds your snakes needs. If there's a manufacturing defect he'll handle it very promptly. It's still great value for your money.

Years ago I did a substantial amount of business with Jim. I would not hesitate to do so again. Jim is a good guy. A++

In 2005 I purchased a sub adult rack from Jim. Rack arrived in a timely manner and I still have and use that same rack today. The only thing I've had to do was to change the flexwatt due to a small portion of the flexwatt melting. I know that was not a malfunction of the construction of the rack, just a part of flexwatt. I re-installed the new flexwatt and there was no damage from the old.

I then ordered a 4X2X1 cage for one of my boas. After some time talking to Jim through email and I believe we spoke on the phone a few times too, Jim shipped out the cage. The cage arrived the way we spoke about setting it up, the RHP on the side and the area where I wanted it, etc.
I called Jim to advise him the cage was damaged due to carrier handling. I sent Jim pictures of the damage and Jim quickly and professionally addressed the problem and resolved it.
I no longer have the cage due to not keeping larger snakes, but a buddy of mine does have the cage and its still solid and being used today. If I needed larger cages I would not hesitate to order from Jim again.

I love the look of his cages. Has anyone had one or more of them for any amount of time, how do they hold up? I'm in the market for a big boa cage stack.

I have made all of my rack purchases through the "big companies" and have waited 6-8 weeks for each rack. This so called "bad guy" thread has led me to believe that my next order will be with Jim at PVC Cages

DOes anyone have a link to his site... I think I want to order from him:iagree:

Yea, me too. this is a great post for us all except the user posting. branding this guy as a bad guy was about as dumb as buying a gaboon viper thinking it will never strike at you but i would like to thank the poster for posting this thread because now he has brung out the name of someone else that i can buy from lol. jim i do not blame you at all because i would have done the same thing if i was in your position.

Have two of Jim's aboreal racks. Jim does not do customer service well (he is ALL business, send me the money, I'll send you a rack) in my experence but his racks are excellent quality for the price and I would by for him again in a heartbeat.

I was really shocked to see this post. I have never met Jim before but I can say he has worked over backwards for me to get me cages. I used Animal Plastics in the past for all my custom enclosures. The last time I tried to get a quote from AP, they never contacted me back. I waited weeks and weeks, called them over and over and they still did not give me a quote. This led me to look elsewhere. I contacted Jim. Actually, I contacted him ALOT. We tried to work out this custom enclosure I wanted but he was not registered for freight shipping and it would not be economical for me to pay for freight because it would have been way too expensive. After a couple of weeks of trying to figure out how to do this, I came up with another idea just to call Jim again. He was reluctant because he didn't think it would be too eye pleasing the way I was thinking, but he did it anyway. I ordered 2 custom size enclosures. The first one was shipped to me in a little over 1 week. The second was shipping to me in almost 2 weeks, which I was fine with. Then I called him up again recentally. I was getting a new snake and I needed something fast. I was hoping he had a surplus but didn't. However, I called him on Wednesday, payed him on Thursday (I believe, might be a day off), and I had my cage in my home by Wednesday the following week. Less than 1 week later, I had my cage shipped and received (not overnight shipping either). I will go back to Jim for all my caging needs. He has never been rude or disrepectful on the phone and I call him when I feel I need to. He has always emailed tracking number info the day he ships. However, the tracking doesn't show up until the package gets scanned at its first stop. It will say invalid tracking number until the next day but then it will be fully updated.

This has been my experience with Jim and he has earned my future business.
