In short, DON'T! Email notices are to ONLY alert you of a reply to your private message or your ad on this site. Replying to the email just wastes your time as it goes NOWHERE, and probably pisses off the person you thought you replied to when they think you just ignored them. So instead of complaining to me about your messages not being replied to from this site via email, please READ that email notice that plainly states what you need to do in order to reply to who you are trying to converse with.

Yeah, I know. They are a pain in the butt. But they pay the bills to keep my server running. Just a fact of life, I am afraid.

Want to get rid of them? Simple. Just become a Contributor level member or above and they will be gone. -> Please click HERE."

Is that too much for me to ask of you to keep this site running? Well, sorry about that. I too wish I could get everything for free. But alas.....

    =====================

Google Adsense ad revenue for December, 2025 was just $30 over the cost of the lease for the server running this site. So, in effect, the money providing the incentive for me to continue running this site is coming SOLELY from the paid memberships and sponsorships here. Which honestly ain't much....

OK, the visual is just too funny--and I don't even know what you look like! I will tell you that HOT WATER only makes them tighten their grip...so, yeah, I'm thinking of biting the "b" back next time.
Ooh, did I say 'next time?' Dang, I must be a glutton for punishment!

Don't use rubbing alcohol! haha use the vodka on the snake to get her to release, then a couple shots for yourself afterwards to help calm down. lol

Photos of the aftermath

Gee, it doesn't look nearly as bad once ya clean it up...but she managed to get a bit of the fleshy part.

she clamped down on the knuckle

I think what hurts most is the bones in the middle & ring fingers that she coiled up on!

...the BAD GIRL herself (she's the bigger one in the photo)!

Troi, Her name is "Bad Girl" after all, what'd you expect a snake named that to do kiss ya??? lol

I have never had that happen. It has always worked well for me to use hot water. Even back when I was dealing with burms and I had two lock up on each other.

I have heard of using alcohol but I don't drink and don't condone reptiles that do. ;)

oh no...

BAD GIRL is her name NOW--BEFORE the bite it was Jungle Jane. I try to name them according to something that "fits." Guess she didn't like that one!
You're such a funny guy!

Yeah, Like a box of rocks eh?

Dave, I don't drink either but I don't mind if any of my animals do as long as if "they're driving and they don't drink or they're drinking and they don't drive..."

Ha!

Yeah, Like a box of rocks eh?

I laugh at rocks...is that so wrong?

So how do you feel about underage reptile drinking? It's not a huge problem here, but I live in a podunk county!

I've stopped counting antsy hatchling bites. My worst strike was while I was rehabbing a ball. He'd been fed aggressively by his former owner (in his enclosure, with live food, and sometimes left for days at a time with his dinner still running around). Not sure what happened that day as his feeding schedule hadn't deviated, but something tripped his feed trigger and he got my whole ring finger in his mouth. I didn't get anything worse than a tiny tooth scar and some blood loss, but I thought my boyfriend was going to pass out.

Silly guy...you know I meant the boyfriend passing out!
He tries his best to deal with it all, and he does well considering he had never even held a snake prior to meeting me...but it's clear who the herper is around here. :) We had our first pairing of the year tonight with the sunglow motleys, and he was squicked out by the "honeymoon present" the male left. (I'm a former zoo intern, I've been pooped/peed/marked/etc. on so many times it no longer bothers me.) He's got a looong way to go yet still.
