    Google Adsense ad revenue for December, 2025 was just $30 over the cost of the lease for the server running this site. So, in effect, the money providing the incentive for me to continue running this site is coming SOLELY from the paid memberships and sponsorships here. Which honestly ain't much....

Bad Guy Yewaredrawlin (Dan Costello?) stealing pics - scammer

I wonder that too. He's blatant stealing photos, and seems no better than an American version of the Nigerian scammers (same grasp of the English language it would appear, as well). Why not just ban his the IP's associated with him?

I think as the economy worsens more and more of these characters are going to come out of the woodwork. Forums like this are going to become more and more important as a tool to identify legitimate sources (for anything!).

Good job on catching this guy. I got a call a few days ago about him stealing photos from my website... I'm glad to see there are people out there staying alert and avoiding these blatant scams.

He should be banned!!

He contacted me via AIM after reading threads on THIS website claiming to have a Sphynx cat he needed to rehome... Now he has my money and I have no cat!

This individual is a serious problem and if it had not bee for FaunaClassifieds allowing him to operate here still I would not be out the money or having the problems that I am having. I am currently attempting to file a complaint with my local police department AND PA's police department.

This is only ONE place he scams.


A simple BOI check would have saved you a lot of money. There are multiple threads about this kid.

I am sorry you lost money.. but the "blame game" should NOT be played
 
He got my contact info from FaunaClassifieds... He knew that I wanted a cat from reading threads from FaunaClassifieds...

If he had been banned he wouldn't have this information. That's what I'm saying... he should have been banned to protect users from falling victim. Not been allowed to USE the forums to find people to hurt.

I didn't check BOI because I figured if someobody were frauding people on the website that they would be blocked... Especially if there were several threads about that particular person!! The question was presented by somebody else and I'm just backing it up... Why the hell hasn't he been banned?? Why is he allowed access to this website so that he can hurt people??
 
You don't have to be logged in to an account to have access to the forums. Any guest could just as easily have found out what you were looking for and used that info for malicious purposes. Even if all his accounts were banned, you still wouldn't have been safe.
 
So you just sent money to someone you didn't know without doing ANY research?

You didn't think it was strange that an unknown person contacted you out of the blue and asked it if you just happened to want a "sphynx cat" ?

Sorry for the double post, I just wanted to add....

I wasn't suspicious of this guy because he not only presented pictures to me, he had full details on the animal and was keeping me up to date on his activities. He answered all of my questions about her health vaccinations, was she spayed, her temperment, and even after he got the money he told me he would be shipping her out to me this morning. He had DETAILS.

So this is my fault??

Do you people have any idea how badly I feel right now? I went out and bought cat food, litter, a litter box, everything.

I also know that there are ways of blocking guests from viewing user profiles. So he may have known what I was looking for, but not how to get in contact with me.
 
I'm deleting my account here. If I hadn't been a member none of this would have happened. Until getting involved on this website I NEVER had problems dealing with scammers. NEVER. You guys are a scamming magnet and you don't care, obviously... Half a dozen people have posted already to point out my faults, but not one has said anything about this guy's short comings.
 
Then why am I being attacked? Why can't I be a little upset that he found me through this forum?

Okay, here's what happened. He contacted me Sunday evening, said he was trying to rehome his Sphynx cat and that he needed to have her gone by Friday because he was moving into an apartment where cats are not allowed. He told me he jsut wanted me to pay to ship her to me and then pay a sort of adoption fee to help with his moving expenses. I said okay and we started talking.

Things have been kind of tight in our household so I immediately began working on selling some of my snakes. I did this and the next morning, Monday, I sent him the money. Now, I'm aware of all the trouble with Paypal; that people have been ripped off, so when he asked if we could use something else I agreed and we settled on Western Union. I sent him the monay around 10am yesterday and he didnt pick it up until after 5pm. He said he would have shipped her out but had difficulties at the airport and missed all of the fights until this morning at 8am. I told him I'd look forward to seeing her then and went to bed. She has yet to arrive today and since I started feeling like perhaps I had been taken for a ride, I finally checked BOI.......

I wish I had done a lot of things different... that I had checked BOI beforehand. The last couple of times I did check BOI everything turned out to be fine. My inquries were met with "buy with confidence", so I thought the same thing would happen this time. I feel terrible and I feel stupid, I don't need people making it worse.

Not only am I out the money I sent him, but I'm out my snakes as well. There's no way I can refund the buyer's money, I don't have it. Western Union is not doing anything to help, the police departments keep sending me to various OTHER people so they don't have to deal with it. Now I'm waiting for the police to call me back to get my report. I've saved all AIM logs and will present this thread and all information about this website to them. Hopefully they can at least stop him from doing this same thing to other people and if I'm lucky they can get my money back to me as well.

I couldn't find the delete button, will I need to speak to a moderator about removing my account?

Even if dealing in person, EVERYONE should do research. You are pointing the blame at fauna, when you admit you did no research.

ANYONE can make up stories, and steal photos.. TSE made some good money with fake "het" paperwork.

again, I am sorry you got taken, but quit blaming fauna.. blame the prick that got you.
