In short, DON'T! Email notices are to ONLY alert you of a reply to your private message or your ad on this site. Replying to the email just wastes your time as it goes NOWHERE, and probably pisses off the person you thought you replied to when they think you just ignored them. So instead of complaining to me about your messages not being replied to from this site via email, please READ that email notice that plainly states what you need to do in order to reply to who you are trying to converse with.

Yeah, I know. They are a pain in the butt. But they pay the bills to keep my server running. Just a fact of life, I am afraid.

Want to get rid of them? Simple. Just become a Contributor level member or above and they will be gone. -> Please click HERE."

Is that too much for me to ask of you to keep this site running? Well, sorry about that. I too wish I could get everything for free. But alas.....

    =====================

Google Adsense ad revenue for December, 2025 was just $30 over the cost of the lease for the server running this site. So, in effect, the money providing the incentive for me to continue running this site is coming SOLELY from the paid memberships and sponsorships here. Which honestly ain't much....

I've recently submitted to Rich that I was interested in the addition of a Cooking/Recipe forum. I think this would be a great forum in the addition to the other great forums that already exist here. I see this forum as a great way for every member to share and be happy and enhance the existing relationships that many members have formed over the common love and passion of a hobby. Its also a great way to take a momentary break from the reptile thing and break out from the norm and try something different, exciting and new.

You don't have to be a cook or like to cook or even have a recipe to share in order to participate. Maybe you have fond memories of holiday dishes past that you've eaten and would like to share a story or two about. Perhaps you've eaten at fantastic restaurant recently and would like to share that experience/review with others. Maybe you have a great recipe for a cocktail or maybe you tried something new at a bar/lounge that you want to share with others.

The key "ingredient" here is sharing. Anyone can look up recipes on line and recreate a dish. I think the real joy is taking a recipe from a friend that may have been in their family for generations and moving it from one home to another and keeping it alive and watching family and friends rave about it.

Of course....you all might just like McDonald's and I'm sounding like a silly passionate fool.

Please vote on the poll and let me know your feelings on starting this great new forum.

Cheers!

I could use some recipes for iguana meat.. as many rescues as we take in a year... But honestly, I don't think an entire forum would be needed for that. *shrug* Just my take.

I can put a positive spin on that and "take it up a notch". Recipes that not only people can enjoy but that also pets can enjoy at the same time. Imagine that, sitting down to a great healthy salad that you can share with your iguanas. Minus the salad dressing of course, but I'm sure there will be more than a few folks that could create a dressing that is healthy and appealing for both man and beast. Why not? If you can think it you can do it. I think it would be funny and fantastic to see a few pics from members sitting down to the dinner table and sharing a salad with their pet iguana. For a lot of folks, pets are the only family they have.

In these tough economic times, when its hard enough to feed yourself and family, you know perhaps some folks have some tips and ideas to use ends and left overs that are completely suitable for animal consumption.

I think it would be a change of pace myself. Plus I might get to learn something diffrent. When i cook my special ingredient is teflon. I guess your not supposed to use metal utensils when your using tefal..

I love the idea of this Bill! I would definately partake, I might even be persuading to give up my lasagna recipe.......who knows. :)

I was the same way John. I needed a recipe to make ice. I just got so sick of the take out food and the fast food one day that I decided to challenge myself and I found it was very easy. Honestly it was a fly, still moving, in my egg foo young gravy that just had me put a halt to dining out and preparing all my own meals for my family. Two inches deeper and I wouldn't have seen that sucker. But I have to tell you that I can make egg foo young better than any chinese food place ever could.

I hope to help you if the forum does open.

Thank you for the support my dear! I'll be looking forward to that recipe, lasagna is like one of my favorites. If you like veal, I have a dish that you will fall in love with.

Thanks again all!

I love lasagna, always looking for better recipes.
This is a great idea for a forum, and Chuck would make sure it was always sizzling. Sort of like what it would be like if Howard Stern made cupcakes. Pure entertainment plus real value in new recipes.
