Mistyck- I refer to Jeane as Jeane most of the time in business dealings. Rarely in business do I refer to her as mom. She sent the first email to caliente, then told me she found some rankins she wanted. I initiated the sale and did ALL the follow through because I bought them for her.
Ok, now that makes more sense. If I was doing business with my mother, I think I would be referring to her with her first name or as Mrs/Ms. So-and-so, much like you are with your mother. Thank you for clearing that up.
The dragonlady99212 account has been in existance LONG before we opened our store front. No one looses business by making changes. We have customers who still only know the email address from 8 years ago.
I agree that if you have had an email address long before the store that people will more likely remember the email address before they remember the business. But I think that I would have eventually changed the email to match the store to make both coincide with each other. Then send out a mass email telling about the changes, or putting it in the "automatic signature" telling about the changes about to occur.
Online deals are sometimes 24hrs a day, depends on the time zone or country it is. Jeane works a swing shift job, I work a 10-7. Who ever is available answers emails to insure timely replies.
When you answer emails, instead of just relying on the "automatic signature" you could have also signed your name at the bottom of the email. That would have helped clear up quite a lot of confusion.
[QUOTElastly, we DO NOT use paypal. We have our own credit card processing here on site, we have no real need for paypal or their overpriced 3% charges.[/QUOTE]
A credit card processing machine, POS (point of sale) machine will charge you an amount as well. Sometimes up to 3%, and sometimes that's coupled with a flat per-item charge of $.05-$.50 per transaction. So in essence you can wind up losing money by using the machine. Either way you're going to pay for accepting credit cards. You will also pay for accepting debit cards, just not as much.
None of this has to do with the dragon deal at hand!! I couldn't care less what she did before this thread was started unless it has to do with Heidi and Wendy. There are so many judgmental people on here and it is ridiculous. Is Wendy the only person on here that has gone to jail??? I don't think so! Aryan Nation, former porn star, criminal, NONE OF WHICH has anything to do with the fact that Heidi and Gary have taken a turn at being criminals. Wether they see it that way or not, thats the way it looks on this thread when you read thru it. I think this thread is done since it has been nothing but nonsense and babble since the last time Gary was here and said he would see what the people think "they" should do. Well he has yet to return with his answer. Everyday that passes without an answer is a few more post saying the same thing, refund, and still nothing out of him or Heidi. I guess if he don't care or is just to stubborn to do the right thing then he chooses to let his business take a little hit with this thread. IMO if I sold someone dragons and they weren't happy and sent them back, even though I would be royally pissed I would have to send the money. Food for thought....
I agree that non of her personal past has anything to do with the matter at hand. Her personal career choices may not be kosher in some people's eyes, but that isn't a reason to condemn her for the transaction happening now.
While I still don't agree with everything that happened in this thread or the way either side handled it, I do believe that monies should be sent back. How much of that I'm not sure. I'm still on the fence about that, but I had been thinking that meeting half-way would help to quell this situation. I'm still leaning towards that amount seeing as how it was a case of buyers remorse.
Though the refund should have never been offered (as has been stated many times), it was offered, and therefore should be upheld. If you're going to be in the business with your spouse, you need to be on the same page. Offering a refund to later have your spouse retract it isn't sitting very well with most (if not all) people on this thread.
Business sometimes doesn't go the perfect way, and doesn't always set well for the seller, and sometimes you just have to chalk it up, eat your pride and give the buyer what they are wanting. I seriously doubt that some merchant stores want to take back merchandise (yes I know animals shouldn't be thought of as merchandise but in essence that's what they are, they are live merchandise), but they take back the merchandise and issue the buyer a refund, or in some cases a store credit. It's sometimes the price of doing business.
Heidi, I love some of your dragons and would still look into buying one from you the next time I purchase one. This thread hasn't soured me from doing business with you. I just hope that you try to work things out with Wendy so others can see that you are willing to make right, and keep your customers happy.
