• Responding to email notices you receive.
    **************************************************
In short, DON'T! Email notices are to ONLY alert you of a reply to your private message or your ad on this site. Replying to the email just wastes your time as it goes NOWHERE, and probably pisses off the person you thought you replied to when they think you just ignored them. So instead of complaining to me about your messages not being replied to from this site via email, please READ that email notice that plainly states what you need to do in order to reply to who you are trying to converse with.

Yeah, I know. They are a pain in the butt. But they pay the bills to keep my server running. Just a fact of life, I am afraid.

Want to get rid of them? Simple. Just become a Contributor level member or above and they will be gone. -> Please click HERE."

Is that too much for me to ask of you to keep this site running? Well, sorry about that. I too wish I could get everything for free. But alas.....

    =====================

Google Adsense ad revenue for December, 2025 was just $30 over the cost of the lease for the server running this site. So, in effect, the money providing the incentive for me to continue running this site is coming SOLELY from the paid memberships and sponsorships here. Which honestly ain't much....

Well that didn't really need to come about. There is no federally declared language, and I hope there never is. But while it certainly caused a lot of trouble for people in this case that Mr. Soto did not speak English very well, I am sure it causes him the most trouble (hence why he has a translator).

Funny how every country I visit, many people speak English far better than I speak their language, and they are flattered that I try. It is a bit sad that here we expect perfection upon entry when I see people on these forums that have been here their entire life and can't figure out if they should use "then" or "than."

In 2006 (I believe) English was declared America's official language.

Not being able to speak English while doing business with English speaking people should NEVER be considered an excuse to be a bad business man.

I looked through the posts again. This is pretty close to saying "sorry" ...

"If Kelvin wants to respond then he will, if not, i can not force him, but i will let him know about it. Again my apologies to Jason. I wish i could do more to help you out, but this is just not in my hands."

I interpret that as his apologizing for Kelvin not responding. That is not his apologizing for his part! There's a big difference between the two.

Sorry comes after you realize you did something wrong.

However, not Alex nor Kelvin admitted to do anything wrong.

So what is the apology worth when you don't even know precisely what its for?

Exactly.

If you look at my previous posts, I think I you will see I was not giving much margin of error. Once he made good, I was able to relax a little more and think in his shoes a little harder.

I do believe he thought Jason might have been trying to screw him over. Other people mentioned too that to him he thought he sent out two healthy snakes, his employee confirmed this, and Jason wants a refund for unhealthy snakes. It took a little longer for him to realize Jason was right, given he probably could not read the clear evidence, so it was up to Estrada to stand up to his boss and suggest he give him money back on snakes Estrada shipped out. Took some cojones I bet.

I am not excusing poor business, and I think the 51 hour and 45 minute thing was an embarrassing excuse, but I can give a little learning curve on the time frame.

And Christine...I think I agree with you on your interpretation, but that was the closest thing I could find for an apology from Alex. If he apologized to Jason in person, we will let them decide if that needs to be shared. He is still in a sticky job situation.

Hey Everyone,

Sadly, as we had expected Kelvin Soto's eCheck was declined. Payment is now pending December 30th.

This was the email I forwarded to Mr. Soto.

Kelvin,

I have received this notice from paypal today, stating that your e-check has been declined. As an account holder I assume that you are fully aware of your current financial status and I am not doubtful of your awareness concerning the reason for this decline. I will be expecting to hear from you within the next 1-2 days concerning this very important matter as my decision to pursue this further is pending on your cooperation. Thank you.

Sincerely,
Jason Olech

What I don't understand is: WHY are you wasting time giving him another chance?

To me, it's been obvious that he will waste as much time as you allow him to waste and lead you on as many times as you allow yourself to be lead....but that's just me.

Well, Chuck won the bet!
Where do I send the funds Chuck?

Randal Berry

yep had my money with Chuck too... Man Jason I'm sorry this is going the way it is. I was just resently scammed to. Not a good place to be and recourse is a time consuming headache.

Given his email consent to refund your money, as well as sending an eCheck, is there any legal obligation for him to follow through?

What else do you suggest they do? He's already told the BOI about it, the police probably won't be interested as it's not really outright theft... IDK I guess he might have a chance with small claims?

He may have trouble collecting even if he did take it to court and win, from the sound of the other ToC threads it seems that Mr. Soto is out of money...

It would cost about $400 for him to file a complaint with the court. He is owed $500....do the math. If he wins he makes $100.00

Just not worth it and Soto knows it.

What do you say you buy a few lottery tickets, and if we win we'll buy an exotic island and move our family there and escape all this madness?

And, as a caveat, there must be cold beer, venomous serpents, palm tree's, lobster, shrimp, 1" thick steaks, more cold beer, and more snakes!

Well sure...he knows is now. But there is still the honorable Judge Marilyn Milian, and she won't put up with any BS.

In any case, threaten to file, then he may get his money. If not, file and either just do it for the principle (he'd get SOME money), or have him pay his court fees (ie ask for $900).
