    Google Adsense ad revenue for December, 2025 was just $30 over the cost of the lease for the server running this site. So, in effect, the money providing the incentive for me to continue running this site is coming SOLELY from the paid memberships and sponsorships here. Which honestly ain't much....

I just want to add this. There are people I despise in this industry and in the world. There are people I would never want to speak a single word to, much less ever meet eye to eye.

BUT. I wouldn't wish what Maggie is going through, or what my wife has just been through, on any of these people. EVER. No one deserves the pain and heartache that both these strong women are having to endure right now (even though I know Chuck's stubborn ass is going to pull through, leaving him more onery than ever).

No matter what you think of someone personally, as a human being with an ounce of decency you wouldn't be happy at the turmoil these families are going through. I'm not a Chuck fan, but I do sympathize and feel grief for them. When it's YOU lying in that hospital bed clinging to life, will YOU have so many people praying for you?
 
Out of all the senseless things that could be said in a thread where there are many people waiting for updates and praying for families in their time of need you go and do that. All I can think of about someone like you is your life is so worthless you have to go start something to take the spotlight away from how your life is. Did you ever think to keep your comments to yourself? With everyone that watches this thread all throughout the time they spend online here did you not think how much of an impact your words would bring to you?

Maggie I am so sorry for this if you happen to read this persons post please take it as a grain of salt and remember just because one person is trying to hurt you we are all here for you and will always be looking for your updates.

Nobody liked HopingforBabies much anyway....I can only hope that all he read was the title, and he is unaware of the situation. That said, I certainly wouldn't believe him if he came here and stated that was the case.

I've given him a three day vacation to contemplate what he's said and to give everyone a cooling off period so as to not turn this thread into a complete and utter train wreck.

Please folks, just get this thread back on track and disregard the negative reply. Beating that dead horse only makes things worse for a spouse that's going through a very tough time right now. From personal experience, I can tell you that dealing with significant medical issues such as this can be very hard on a loved one. So folks, let's leave the negativity behind and look forward, please.
 
Ken, I agree, and in that spirit, I want to post one of my favorite recent Chuck posts, because I think anoles are incredible creatures, too. Thanks Chuck.
Since moving down here to Florida I haven't kept any critters, everything I had back in PA was given to a family that showed great interest in my turtles and frogs and such. Once I got down here I was so glad that I made that decision because there was so much unpacking to do. I'm still not completely unpacked.

Quite honestly I'm not over the shock and awe of having so many critters just naturally around me all the time. Seems sort of pointless to start a new collection up again when all I have to do is walk out my front door at any time of the day or night to appreciate naturally what would take an absorbent amount of my time caring for in captivity.

I'll probably never keep any critters again, maybe perhaps if the kids catch the herp bug and ask me to set up a small enclosure or something. But they seem pretty content right now to watch the snakes and lizards and frogs and turtles do their thing right around our house.

More importantly, being around such a diverse amount of wildlife in their natural settings has me a bit conflicted in what I've been hearing people say is their natural RIGHT to keep whatever they want. I'm sort of with the feeling that its not actually a right but rather an extreme privilege and a heavy responsibility that a lot of folks are not aware of or ready for.

I'm having fun experiencing and enjoying herps from a different angle. I do know I place more value on an anole than a sellers asking price of a dollar or two. They are incredible creatures to watch running around my lanai while I'm floating in the pool sipping a gin & tonic.

As I sit here and cry right now, my daughter just saw the picture and said "slap chop". To the person who said what he said....I hope you know the saying "opinions are like......and everyone has one". Another saying is "you should never spit in the wind" and I hope that what I, and my 3 children are going through, never happens to you or anyone you care about. I, and everyone else here, are much better people than you are and you could ever dream of being. Hopefully, someone doesn't step on you and try to wipe you off of their shoe like the crap that you are.

Sorry, I tried to be a better person, but I needed to get that off of my chest, and it would have been much worse, but I don't want to get banned because you all are my only source of support right now and I appreciate all of you very much.

Things are pretty much the same, ups and downs, and I really don't want to get into specifics right now - it's been a very hard day and night and my children are really feeling the effects right now and it's killing me. I can tell you though, that I asked Charles to blink for me if he heard me and he slowly closed his eyes and opened them again, but there are some other issues right now too. I will let you know tomorrow when I learn more - at least ups and downs are better than all downs.

Also, I just wanted to let you know that I bought him a SLAP CHOP a few weeks ago and the first thing he said was "you're gonna love my nuts"! Much love to all of you.
 
Stay strong, Maggie. Ups and downs are definitely better than just downs. I'm SO happy to hear he blinked! You guys will be in our prayers tonight. Thank you for the update, and we're hoping for better news tomorrow!

I was so appalled at what he said that it was all I could do to thank Ken for putting him out of our line of sight for a while, without getting banned myself.

He should be made to wear the "Does Not Play Well With Others" shirt when he comes back.

Some people just SUCK.
