James, I don't know if that would be necessary prior to finding out what was specifically the cause of the dead boa's infections, and whether or not it was communicable.

Ryan, all those jabs really aren't helping...they tend to distract from the matter at hand.
 
Yaz, are you concerned at all for the rest of your collection? The snake that died had infection in multiple organs.

Found this very recent thread of yours, hmm..... let's see, it sure seems possible that this girl could have had something going on that may have prevented her from carrying full term. None of the babies pictured look like "strong, healthy babies".

She dropped a week and a half early and 4 of the 6 that were alive looked dead in the cage but once I pulled them out they moved a little so I was hoping for the best. The other 2 that are still alive are in great health. It was her first time breeding too. I am definitley wanting to check things out with the rest of my collection. I have brought several of my snakes in to get exams and fecal exams just for routine check and they all have been fine. Since this has happened I will take more measures to ensure everything is ok.

Will the exams include blood work? Will you also post the results of those Vet exams?

This will go a long way to proving you have nothing communicatable in your existing collection. You won't even have to do them all, a good random selection would be sufficient, imo.
 
I can do some random exams from my collection. I will also state that the boa was never in contact with any of my snakes except the female columbian when I put them together to breed. We'll see how her litter goes. I'm hoping for a bunch of healthy babies!
 
Wanted to add, I'm going to wait until I see the final report from that boa before I do any tests on my collection so I can show the final report to my personal vet so he can run tests that he think will serve the purpose best.
 
Yaz, you understand that the report is not going to show the exact cause of the infected organs right?
Because you are not paying for the necropsy, and David feels that his case has been made, he is not continuing to find out the exact nature of the infection. As he said, those tests will run into the hundreds of dollars, and it was like pulling teeth to get you to pay the $65. I don't know if the animal has been disposed of or not yet, but you might want to contact David and pay for him to further the examination. It's not his snake, and it was sick when he got it. If you want to know what it was that made it sick, its on you to get the tests. Contact is not the only method of transfer either, so saying that she was only with one female doesn't do much to satisfy the curiosity of prospective buyers.
 
Yaz, wouldnt it be cheaper to have the DVMS that did the necropsy to do further tests so you know what to look for? Your vet will be looking for needles in a hay field!
 
Y'know, we've only seen the preliminary report so far; we have yet to see the final, more detailed report, so how can we be making any assumptions as to what the final report may say? The preliminary report is just that: preliminary. That means parts of it could possibly be incorrect.

Additionally, we do not know for certain--because we do not have the final report--just what the cause of the illness was and whether it's easily communicable or not.

It is not useful to anyone to be going 'round and 'round about these things until we know for certain what the final results actually are. Then we can debate what should be done next.

If the OP decides he is satisfied and does not deem it necessary to post the final results, then we need accept that and move on. Both the OP and Yaz have shown enough of themselves for people to make an educated decision as to whether or not do to business with them.

I can say this much.... a good breeder will do this. I got an email about two weeks ago on a Boa that I got early last year. There's not a problem with the boa itself... but some questions had come up about lineage... and he wanted me to know the changes.

THATS CUSTOMER SERVICE!

If I was the seller in this transaction, I would make absolutely sure that the buyer did not have a penny less in his pocket after dealing with me than before. Even if you give him a "full" refund, Yaz, he won't receive it because he spent money out of his own pocket to prove to you that the snake you sold him was sick.

I have given a full refund once before, and I am 100% sure the buyer killed the snake I sold him within 48 hours. I am so sure about this that I refused to give him the replacement that he wanted. I gave him the cash even though another baby wouldn't have costed anything. It was worth it to me not to have the transaction turn into a mess.

I think my position on dealing with you has gone from "very hesitant" to "not gonna happen".

If that is your business ethics no wonder you are in the situation you are.

At this point it really doesn't matter what happened. Your attitude towards the whole thing and just lack of professionalism is disturbing. I don't know you and this is my first impression. I can guarantee you would be no one to seek out know matter how good your product. I am sorry to see this happen to someone who just made some bad business decisions and didn't know when to cut their loses.

I STATED IN MY AD, he was proven numerous times before I had him and he proved for me with a GRAVID COLUMBIAN THIS SEASON. Meaning she has not dropped yet. This was stated in my ad "He is proven 4 times that I know of and probably more than that in the past. He proved for me this season to a huge 7 1/2 ft girl (she should be having her babies in a month)."

Based on he was sold to me as a male, he was probed male a couple different times, AND he copulated with the female and got her gravid it's quite obvious I'd label him a MALE in my ad. What the hell would be the purpose of lying about the sex Archie?

He's been feel very well (obviously from his size), I also sent David a PM saying the boa took a huge poop/pee the day before I shipped him out. So before you jump to you stupid conclusions, and obviously didnt read the whole thread then keep your :censored: comments to yourself. I'm tired of people like you and I would never do business with you anyway after seeing your dumb remarks to threads throughout the BOI. Learn, think, and then speak. Obviously you jump to speaking so it makes no sense. Congrats on your false conclusion once again. I've seen many of those by you on here and its not surprising to say the least.

Coming on here and suddenly deciding to start antagonizing Yaz after the thread had finally come almost come to a near peaceful end is definitely not something I like to see.
If you have some questions for him, just as I did, ask them, politely, without all this chest thumping, anger-filled, bs.
If you have some opinions about how the situation has been handled, just as I did, then make them, without being so antagonistic and not even able to clearly make your own points.
But please enough with the anger and antagonism as it is not helping anyone here learn anything new about this situation, and that is all we are waiting for at this point. The final answers and results on a couple of things such as further test results and the situation with the possibly gravid female pregnant by what is now known to be a dead female.

If your main point was just that Yaz was lying about selling a known proven male, well that can be hard to say. In your opinion it may make him a liar, but repeating it over and over again in a name calling fashion is not helping anyone. Truthfully, if it comes down to it, I believe he may just be misinformed. And yes, your point that the male is not truly proven until those babies are on the ground I will agree with, but it seems that in every post you make you have a very hard time making any point without basically yelling, screaming and name calling(as much as it is possible to do so on a forum of course), rather than calmly and rationally explaining your side of things and how you've come to your conclusions.
It's these anger filled posts that leave us 10+ extra pages of back and forth argumentation to wade through on a thread that aren't needed. So please, try to just tone it down a bit, calm down, something, but the way you're making your posts isn't solving anything or even getting you any of the answers you are attempting to get.
