.Okay, for awhile I have tried to stay out of this thread due to some horrible accusations as well as some other reasons.
I want to comment on the "rape" issue.
Coming from my own personal experience, most people dont report rape right after it happens. It takes more than you can even imagine believing that YOU didnt do something to bring it on. TRUST ME, I know.
As a kid, I was mollested, "raped", by a so-called family friend. The only reason it was NOT considered rape was because it started before I was 12 yrs old. It went on for THREE years before anyone knew anything about it. NO ONE suspected a thing.
You say that you would know but honestly, how could you unless they straight up tell you. You think you have MORE of a connection with a girlfriend, or boyfriend, than a parent? I am not belittling how you feel about the case whatsoever.
Unfortunately, there seems to be more than one victim in this situation. And, I dont necessarily mean the accuser themself. For one, the dogs. Two, the reptiles. Three, the mammals. Sure, Mr Cullen will have his day in court and he will be able to face his accuser, however, the animals will never be able to cross-examine Mr Cullen.
I am not saying that Mr Cullen is not innocent. In my eyes, a jury of his peers will hopefully make the right decisions throughout his case. He is also presumed innocent until proven guilty. But please, just because you may (or may not) know him, lets not judge hastily on him or the accuser.
Sorry if I got a little too personal as I dont talk about my life very much. I just hate seeing when someone cries rape, they become the accused. Happened to me as my parents friends took the side of the predator in my case EVEN AFTER he did it to five other boys just because he was a supposed "pillar of the community".
Thanks for being upfront about something that is SO important! I am so sorry you went through that, Dean!
No need to be DawnIt may have killed the child I was but, it created the man that I am. The only reason I even went into that detail is just to point out that people do not always tell, if they even tell at all, upfront. It took years for me to even discuss it, let alone come forward with the accusation.
I was trying to remain neutral until I saw these photos. The conditions those animals were in is way beyond what I would have imagined. This thread has not had a lot of attention yet, but I hope everyone on here sees this so that no matter what, they never give this man animals again.

This is getting to the point its breaking my heart.I wish i could go to the area where all this happened and get the whole truth about this.I hate the media since they stretch everything out of proportion majority of the time.If this building was in this shape you would think the neighbors would have complained about the smell before all this.Who knows

Yea thats what i would think also.I wish we had someone we could all trust to get us the whole story instead of bits and pieces. Some of those pics really make me wonder about fake pics. Not saying Mr Cullen is innocent but dang... the stench would be almost unbearable in some of those pics.

Yes the smell would be bad to a normal person but just do a google search for "animal hoarding" - there are lots and lots of cases of people living in houses with everything coated in feces and with decaying cats and dogs right in their homes even in their beds and its as if they don't even notice AND they think they are doing a great job caring for the animals!
I cannot believe that anyone would now be defending Terry Cullen after seeing these photos! Shame on you!
I know that everyone is upset and in an uproar over the state of affairs with reptile bans and what not, but GEEZE PEOPLE, put the blame where it belongs.....on Terry Cullen. HE is the one who let his animals get in this condition and gave more ammunition to those who would take away our rights to keep our pets.
Beth,
No one is defending him whatsoever since the photos have been posted. All I have said is that we should give him the "benefit of the doubt" until he is proven guilty in a court of law. If its good enough for our govt, why shouldnt it be good enough for Fauna?

Reptile Roundup Animals Future Uncertain
Investigators call the conditions the animals were held in "putrid" and "terrible." They found live mice cannibalizing dead ones, turtles in tupperware and giant African pouched rats in tiny cages.
Despite what investigators say, Cullen's attorney Stephen Glynn defended his client's animal care last week.
"The explanation for the condition of many of these animals is that is exactly the way these animals are to be kept," Glynn said.
