Fed-ex nor UPS will come to my HOUSE!!!!

We live in the MOUNTAINS and only 4X4 high trucks can get to us.

When they have a package for me they drop it off at a nearby store and we have to go get it...

It's not fun either way..

I guess I can call and see if they have that kind of pickup and will meet us at a store or somewhere at a certain time of the day when we are free but I doubt they will even consider that hold up and time out of their busy delivery day!

And to top it off a nearby store is NOT a drop off for UPS..

So as I said I may have to move or just not deal reptiles.

That was going to be one suggestion (what is in bold) hey if they drop off your stuff there, why cant you just meet them there for a delivery? I know if the driver will go to that area, they will meet for pick up's. I can schedule a driver for pick up at my place if i wanted. I know another breeder that has a driver meet them every week at there house.
I completely understand about your living conditions. But putting the animals life in danger ( yes 2 day shipping is/can be considered in "danger" at the wrong time of year) isnt acceptable. I wouldnt want to see you out of the hobby. I never want to see any good people leave our hobby, but you have to do whats in the best interest of the animal.
Figure out a scheduled shipping day every two weeks. and take that day off work and make sure the animals get shipped out on a over night shipping.
I think you can put more though into this to make it work for you. But thats up to you Amanda.

As SYR stated, a driver can pick up any place along their route. If that store holds packages for you, perhaps they would hold them for UPS to pick up there?

This is very true. And all I saw in this thread from her was reasons as to why it was too hard to do it instead of a make it happen attitude. Like I said before it will cost a few extra bux out of the money you are making on your animals but isn't a little less profit worth a animal having a better chance at survival.

Ok is it just me, am I losing my mind or have I said more than once it has NOTHING at ALL to do with the MONEY or the prices. I pay for overnight, where did you miss that at???

I have taken my slams here, I have excepted them, and I'm fine with most of it. BUT you are starting to get on my nerves. Please take the time to fully read what I have said many times.

Overnight just for USPS was around $45-$47 and UPS is around $55-$67 sooooooooooo again it's not about saving "extra bux" as you say!
I have no problem holding the buyers reptiles until we can take time off work and make the 3 hour drive, I think it will be the customer that won't like it much!

That has all been taken care of which is what I wanted. I did not want him to be banned though but it seems he did that to himself.

Thats the thing about the BOI. If you are bringing something to it where you are having problems you need to make certain you have all of your i's dotted and T's crossed or else you will get it just as bad. In this case you had a serious problem that was admitted to in your business practices. Instead of getting mad you need to figure out a way to rectify your issue. Good luck though.

I'm not mad at all, it just seems you can't read not only my posts but others that seems to understand the shipping issues. But I hope you understand now that it has nothing to do with saving MONEY or "bux" and again I have not lost an animal to shipping. I have never had a DOA in many years of shipping reptiles.

The issue at hand has been fixed or worked out, you must have missed that too.

Then why the price comparison? Also if you use S.Y.R. you can save on ups deliveries. There is also a reptile express. another way to save on shipping. Dont know the carrier for them. (I.E. fed-ex, ups?)

I simply offered you a idea. I also offered another idea of meeting the ups driver for drop-off where he drops off your packages. This statement you just made, IMO is just another excuse. I dont give a darn what you do. We were trying to help, but i can see our thought and ideas are falling on deaf ears!

Thats right, Shawn showed his true colors. Also it helped with your issue with him. BUT your not in the right entirely here either. An your mistakes and excuses will not be over looked!

Ok, I have a big problem with the above statement Amanda. I hate to say this, but your shipping procedure IS probably what caused the babies death by undue stress. You by your own statement said that you had this baby for 2-3 weeks and then you shipped to Shawn at a very hot time for shipping. Now I am once again NOT trying to attack you Amanda, but you are not taking any possible responsibility for this babies death. To me personally I think this baby died of stress issues that were attributed to 1. being double shipped in less then a month 2. being in a box for 2 days and 3 hours 3. the outside temperature. I also still have my pm from you on the offer of a $150 shipped I made for this baby that YOU turned down because your baby was worth more then $100 with the $50 dollars going to shipping, so PLEASE don't tell people its not about the money. Your last answer to me was it was none of my business on what you do with your business and prices, but considering I was trying to be a customer then it was my business on you playing with the prices. I do NOT like a person who flip flops around on the price, nor do I like the fact that you even stated that you would rather to have sold to a friend then me a potential customer. That right there should speak volumes to every potential customer here on this site about how you actually run your business. Oh and just to let everyone else know, when she lowered her price she did NOT update me even though she lowered it on this site 2 days later. I also still have that pm too Amanda were you did not keep your word.

You know, it's really rare for people not to use S.Y.R. or never even bothered to check them out... What's even rarer is when shipping cost through them goes over $50.00 for a package containing a few baby Beardeds... Even with the extra weight over the winter shipments from the heat packs never cost me that amount. I call on Amanda.

Good for you! I was not selling the trans for $100 the shipping would have been $50 or more for UPS and you would have had to wait god knows how long before we could ship it lol..

And I will "flip flop" my prices all I want when they are not selling for that price..

They were around $150 plus shipping. I have Shawn a good deal because yes he was a friend and he was buying the ALL he got them for $125 each plus shipping and I sold him the last one that he really like for $100.

AGAIN it is not and never was about the price of shipping, it was the price of the reptile plain and simple..

Oh please....... Just why would I when he got caught in lies, saying it was sick from day one yet did not bother to let me know in 10 days, when he passed out pics of how perfect, amazing, and healthy she was, when he went around bragging about her. As I said before his own pics on his profile showed and told that she was just fine.

Go see just why she died. AND the other that he has for months.
Did those die MONTHS later due to my shipping as well..?

Here is what i am saying. I know dragons can make a 2 day air trip. But thats certain times of the year. spring / fall. 2nd day air is NOT accepatable for summer / winter. And or when there is extreme temps. Thats what i am getting to with that. Cool packs in high temps do not last long! 40 hr heat packs are dead by the time a 2nd day air trip gets shipped. (i had a lost package for a day. it's how i know)
As far as shipping maybe you do need to spend alittle less time explaining yourself, and find a safe way to ship. Its for you to figure out

To Amanda's defense. IF she is shipping at a u.p.s. hud, there shipping rates are extremely ridiculous. I got a quote from them to ship to cali and it was almost 100 bucks. For a 10x10x7 2 lb. box.

But the option of printing the label through S.Y.R. packing it up then dropping it off to the hub, all ready to go isn't such highway robbery. And I know UPS charges as much as that w/out the super neat price saving discount.

If a dragon is ill/sick/stressed/out of the ordinary, from shipping. It never recovers from shipping. It doesnt do good, then go down hill. So i dont think it was from shipping. Maybe stress from changing enviroments? Maybe shawn's husbandry skills werent right.

Amanda's T.O.S. should determine if this animal is covered or not. I will say i cover animals up to two weeks. And even though it has not happened I would probly still re-send another animal a short time after that period. If it did not live. Just good bus. practices.

Ok Amanda you wanna start with whinning about the other dragons death then here goes my real OP. He was your friend and those were your animals, so if you saw something wrong then YOU should have stepped up and told him that the greens are to big, fruit cocktail is bad, and the UVA and UVB bulb needs to be there! YOUR the one who had every right to say that to him, but you didnt because the almightly dollar is all YOU cared about!
As for me, if you would have worked with me then I would have paid ALL of the shipping regardless if it was 50-67 but YOU werent willing and thats why I passed. Second off, if the weather is that hot you should have used your common sense to realize that. Whether or not a customer is going to be mad at you or not if you tell him or ask him can we give it a few days to see if the weather cools down for the safety of the babies. You however didnt use that common sense and even shipped 2nd day.
And yes, I do think you are a flip flopper to put it kindly. And another thing Amanda, he may have bragged with pictures and so on, but if you look really close at the tail you can see the fat pads are slightly dehydrated and shrinking. Oh and I never said your dragons didnt look healthy when you had them because if they did then I wouldnt have been interested in one. Trust me, I will never make that mistake again.
Last, but not least your dragons are dying because you arent stepping up as a friend and helping him with important information that he might not know. Your job is to help guide him as a friend. Guess that will always be a thing that good breeders do, help one another and keep helping. If you cant seem to help your friends or people that might have questions then maybe you should stop breeding because there will always be somebody that will have questions even months later or years later. Just my .02 cents Amanda

And you can pay the extra 5 to 10 bux and get a ups driver to meet you for pickup at a certain place and time. Its so not hard to workout, especially if you care for the health of your animals at all.
