In short, DON'T! Email notices are to ONLY alert you of a reply to your private message or your ad on this site. Replying to the email just wastes your time as it goes NOWHERE, and probably pisses off the person you thought you replied to when they think you just ignored them. So instead of complaining to me about your messages not being replied to from this site via email, please READ that email notice that plainly states what you need to do in order to reply to who you are trying to converse with.

Tom Belrose of Barerootshydro.com has my money

About a month ago I ordered some leca from Barerootshydro.com. http://www.living-learning.com/store/media/leca.htm Leca is a substrate for terrariums. I'm getting some little frogs and setting up terrariums for them. Someone who is into frogs gave me the name of his business, although she...

    Life events

Sometimes people give reasons for not completing biz deals which, if true, are really difficult times for them. I have a guy who has some of my money for frog terrarium supplies, he says that he has not sent anything because he is dealing with the death of his daughter. I asked for a refund...

    Can people really change?

I have friends that go back more than 30 years. They are older now, and a bit wiser perhaps, but otherwise pretty much the same people they were years and decades ago when I first met them. Sometimes, people attempt to change who and what they are. Every once in a while, those put in prison...

The Perfect Picnic + 1 OK

Back in the old days people would cook 'real food' for picnics, and the picnic basket would contain foods like fried chicken potato salad, etc. Those are still popular foods but depending on when and where the picnic takes place, there are many choices from trail mix to gourmet take-along meals...

    News

A while back, I cancelled my newspaper subsription because the very same newspaper is available online. I am considering re-subscribing, because somehow actually sitting down in the morning with the paper and a cup of coffee seems different and better than reading the same news on a computer...

    Comfies

Some people when they want to relax and get comfy have fave 'comfy stuff.' A favorite pair of jeans to slip into, a favorite chair to relax in, maybe some nice fuzzy slippers. And fave comfy food, the leading contender for this is obviously Blue Bell ice cream, the rest of the country can't get...

    Your favorite welcome story

Sometimes, when you take the time to make people feel welcome, you can change their lives. Whether you welcome them to your family, a church, school, group, or just a random act of kindness to a passing stranger, the impact of your welcome can go much farther than you expected. I remember one...

    Lost and found

Snakes are escape artists and when they get lost, they REALLY get lost. I've had several lost and found stories in my snake keeping career. The first I can remember is a Ball Python my son had years back. He escaped and we tore up the house looking for him to no avail. It was months later...

    Kassandra Royer, A#1

I received 4 ball pythons from Kassandra Royer today, they are beautiful large BPs. In an act of outstanding generosity, she posted them on Fauna for free. I paid only shipping, she bore the cost of packing materials, snake bag and insulated box herself. Kassandra and people like her are the...

    Delurk, delurk, delurk.....

Sometimes I scroll down to the 'Who's on' area to see which other Fauna characters er, I mean, citizens, are hanging around at the same time I'm on. Often I see the names of folks who I do not recognize. Time to delurk!!! Take a moment and introduce yourselves!! We enjoy our Fauna community...

    Why did you choose reptiles?

I am curious as to why y'all like reptiles? There are many other hobbies and pets, and most are more 'mainstream' and thus easier sometimes. Certainly there is no chance of being bitten if one chooses philately, and keeping parakeets will never land you in as much trouble as some of the hots...
