    In short, DON'T! Email notices are to ONLY alert you of a reply to your private message or your ad on this site. Replying to the email just wastes your time as it goes NOWHERE, and probably pisses off the person you thought you replied to when they think you just ignored them. So instead of complaining to me about your messages not being replied to from this site via email, please READ that email notice that plainly states what you need to do in order to reply to who you are trying to converse with.

    Google Adsense ad revenue for December, 2025 was just $30 over the cost of the lease for the server running this site. So, in effect, the money providing the incentive for me to continue running this site is coming SOLELY from the paid memberships and sponsorships here. Which honestly ain't much....

LOL, sorry if this is very off topic, but hey this is the General BS Forum, so I guess it isn't.
Anyhow, The White Plains, NY show is 1 week from today (Sunday, the 21st). Anybody who reads this planning to go?

Michael - I once heard that when you hit the 1,000 mark you get a bunch of new features like free webhosting, 5 tokens to have warning points taken off, run of Fauna Classifieds for 5 business days....and you get a nice kiss from Webslave when you meet him. Care to enlighten as to if those rumours are true..?.. :D

Dang..and I was happy when I pushed over 100...

Michael I think Steven is kidding, he has quite the sense of humor but is nonetheless a very neat person. I am delighted you have reached the 1,000+ marker. And, I like the idea for goodies once that level is attained, I would love to get my warning point taken away.
 
Oh Michael no, I was proud of having no warnings, I hate that I have one now. Anyway, no matter how many posts you actually have to your name, what is most important is quality participation.

I know you will agree with me that there are many who have not achieved a certain quantity of postings that are good solid members; there are a few people on the board who I go out of my way to read whenever they post because they are thoughtful and insightful.
 
I guess you can always tell by the "Rep Power". I like that whole idea, because that way you can tell who is a good poster no matter how many posts..
I have seen posters with very few posts be completely ignored, or disregaurded because of their post numbers...
The Rep Power will let those arrogant high numbered posters know if they are not as much better as they think than those with 100 posts...
 
It'll be 10 years before I hit 1000 posts. Congrats Sand & Sun, Michael.
As for rep power, it can be used for bad as well as good. Of course I think that because mine is bad for a stupid post I was just kidding about anyway but someone didn't like it. Is it possible to find out who leaves rep power for you if they don't leave their name?
 
I don't understand the whole "rep" thing, about how you get them. Does anybody give them out, or just the moderators? How do you get them? Informative posts, or posts that prove you have the experiance to back what you say?

I think I got all of them. Christmas (which I celebrate, being Roman Catholic), Chanukkah, Kwanza, and Ramadan. There are probably many more, but I am not the most geographically inclined to know the worlds winter holidays. There is always the winter solstice too...
