Lennox and Gary....First of all, If you HAD said something while you were IN my store....I take ALL comments SERIOUSLY! I have NO PROBLEM with criticism! How else are you going to LEARN?? What I WON'T stand for are people that don't have the GUTS to TALK to me face to face, but have to HIDE behind a computer to get their (so-called) point across! I suppose neither one of you would mind somebody writing that your whole collection of reptiles were NOT being fed for weeks at a time and there were EMPTY waterbowls in ALL your tanks (which are WAY TOO SMALL for your animals)!! How would YOU defend against that?? You wouldn't like it a bit, would you! I'm SURE you would prefer me to tell you in person that the waterbowls could use some water in them...that way, you could either take care of the problem, or tell me to stick it somewhere and mind my own business! Well, I'M NOT LIKE THAT!! I have NO PROBLEM with CONSTRUCTIVE CRITICISM SAID TO MY FACE (like an ADULT with NOTHING to hide&#33<img src="http://www.faunaclassifieds.com/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/wink.gif" border="0" valign="absmiddle" alt=';)'>!! You can bring AS MANY CAMERAS AS YOU WANT into my store and take ALL THE PICTURES YOU WANT....I couldn't care less! I have over 60 separate tanks in that store and EVERY DAY we thoroughly clean at least 10 of those tanks...which means that every tank gets TOTALLY cleaned once a week AT LEAST!! If I see one of my animals has just taken a nice healthy crap...I clean it IMMEDIATELY, if not sooner! I work 6 days a week for 10 hours a day in that store! You have NO CLUE the amount of work I do in the mornings BEFORE people start bombarding me with sales in the afternoons...by that time, I'm exhausted! So, for MOST of the afternoon, I sit and relax in between customers! EVERY PERSON that walks into my store gets a friendly Hello first thing! I'm NOT going to follow them around the store like some moronic salesman only trying to make a sale...I don't force anybody into anything! If they have questions, I answer EVERY ONE of them, and I'll spend as much time as needed to make sure they're happy with what they might get! And that includes AFTER the sale as well! It doesn't matter if you're there to buy a pair of Albino Boas or 25 crickets....I treat everybody the same! If you can't handle my smoking...I'm sorry, but that's just the way it is...live with it or stay away! Are you going to tell me that if I walked into your house RIGHT NOW, I wouldn't find ONE piece of something in ANY tank?? I doubt it! I just think it's time for the BOTH of you to get a REALITY CHECK! NOTHING can stay spotless ALL THE TIME! There are A LOT of other things to do in a STORE than just following animals around waiting for them to do their thing! I do the BEST I can at ALL TIMES!! I can't tell you how many times the Fish and Game Officer has come into the store RAVING about how clean it is! And, they're ALWAYS there because SOMEONE has made an ANONOMOUS complaint which they HAVE NO CHOICE but to check out.....they are MORE THAN WELCOME in my store at ANY TIME WITHOUT WARNING!! I've got NOTHING to hide!

If there was a way to put diapers on the animals, I would, just so I can make you happy! But, these are animals that don't have the sense of a box of rocks! first id like to say hey  im new !  so i only know of neil from the things i read on here and only herei can say i do think Neil would be a likeable  person , i can say i think Neil can be a source of information, and he has already shown atleast to me with the few things i have seen him do , granted ya no biggie so he gave someone some ball pythons ... as a " nice guy gesture " to boost his standings well thats how you may look at it and others to and even me , but guess what ? it worked  now as far as his  store i have never been close to it but i have seen stores 100 x's worse then you even begin to say his was , ya know what i do ...? i say it there   because if you dont do you really think they are goin to change anything over a note posted here or anywhere? i mean the perfect answer is yes i would care but hey lets face it you dont , well atleast i dont in my line of work , because my work speaks for itself ! nay sayers are like pawns there only PRO active when you say it to who matters and who has the ability to "see it with there own eyes" now you say there was poop in the cage no biggie what i do i look at the location of the store the employees of a store and then come back the next day  unless godforbid its just horrid conditions. well i guess what im saying and all others are is its always better to be proactive then reactive . now in closing ill say this  you want to see the worst conditions in a petshop drive to Cary NC and have a look in the "Fish & reptile emporium" ill add a post on them soon as i finish here   and like i said im no chearleader i just am saying what i think .. if it matters . have a good day

I'd like to address a topic again. My genitalia has nothing to do with me not mentioning anything while at the store. I have already provided my reasons. As for the comments of me being "scared" or a "coward", I'm not sure what you mean. If you mean scared of what he would physically do than that is simply preposterous. I'm a medium sized healthy young man with no balls (so I hear); Neil does not have the lung capacity to deal with an opponent of that size. But let's not get into this whole macho load of unattended feces.
  The times that I have been in the store he has fed me a lot of garbage assuming that I know nothing about reptiles. Rather than notify him that I do know quite a bit about reptiles I let him finish, figuring that the crap would eventually end. I just assumed that if I mentioned anything about what I thought was wrong with his husbandry I would be in for another long speel. No thanks.
  Also I apologize to Tom for the mix up. I knew something was amiss b/c the Tom I spoke with seemed very intelligent and was always very helpful; you seem...well...quite the opposite. Sorry again for the mix up. Also Tom, I think that you have been watching too much Scooby-Doo. There is no need for the detective work. Why keep guessing my motives when I already stated them clear as day. Oh, almost forgot... I drive a Honda Civic. Nice try.

Yes you are correct lemmings do jump off cliffs, anyone who has watched Saturday morning cartoons should know that. Yet, sheep have also been known to follow the sheep in front of them, even if its off the end of a cliff. Hence the necessity for a shepherd.

Also I would also like to clarify that I am not Steve B. or Gary, but I unfortunately saw some Emeralds in pretty bad shape; I'm not sure if that is what Steve is referring to. I would have mentioned the conditions of the Emeralds but from what I understand, sometimes even the best husbandry leads to failure with this species.

Ritchie, this post was started by me (Lennox) not Gary. So if you decided to read the thread again you can keep on posting b/c I DO know my name.

It's kind of sad how I have to spend most of my time responding to Neil's bodyguards rather than to Neil.

There are a couple of other things that I have seen at the store that I disagree with, but i won't address them since the majority of you have made up your minds before you even finished reading my posts.

Thanks to Neil for responding. Although I disagree with you on a couple of the things you said, I will give you the benefit of the doubt. Maybe you have changed your husbandry in the past 3 months or so. The store may be as clean as can be now, but I find it hard to believe that you were keeping up with the daily maintenance as much as you elude to be during the time when I was frequenting the store. If your store is clean now, I commend you...you had a lot of work on your hands. One more question...have you ever tried the patch.  


To all who are interested, I will be starting a new thread to discuss my jewels pretty soon. So until then give it a rest.

here is my point.....people I know and trust have been to his store and speak highly of it.  You on the other hand..I do not know...

So who do you think I would believe?  my friends who have proven their honesty to me time and time again?  or some guy over the internet that "could" have been made up.  In the past people seem to exist just to post bad about other people.
I am not sayijng that is you.  But you have to understand.  The people here at the BOI have almost seen it all.....so they are very weary.

But yes you are very entitled to post your opinions.  And as aforementioned.  I do see your point.....but I hope you see ours and where we are coming from.

Like I said. I've been in Neil's store a few times and I've purchased an animal from the store. My experience is quite the opposite of your's. The store is one of the better from Tallahassee to Ft. Myers. I'm not new to the area.. so I know. Neil does a pretty good job....especially for a business.
That said... I noticed that you didn't have anything to say RE my previous response.  Tough to counter the truth of my direct observations?
As for your genitalia...you seem to be all genitalia to me. IE, you are a dick. You are also a little bitch.. or you would have addressed your "problems" with Neil directly. You did not use this board for what it's intended. You did not investigate the situation to see if you caught him on a bad day. You merely posted an attack. And that's ALL it was. Lennox....As I said before...if you, or Steve or anybody would stand up and tell me WHAT I'm doing wrong (AND NOT IN A PUBLIC FORUM) as far as my husbandry goes...There are A LOT of things I don't know! I'm ALWAYS willing to learn? If you know THAT MUCH...why would you NOT want to help me out?? That INCLUDES Steve!! Whom I THOUGHT was my friend!! The two Emmys in question, I've had for TWO YEARS!! They came in to me A MESS!! Both STEVE and I didn't think they'd make it through the NIGHT! Steve knows EXACTLY when I got those snakes AND the condition they were in! He's been in my store COUNTLESS times. We would ALWAYS walk all over the store just talking about the different animals and joking around....NOT ONCE did he EVER tell me WHAT to do for those kids!! I can't TELL YOU how many conversations we've had about THOSE TWO ANIMALS!! AND, I e-mailed him PERSONALLY of my displeasure at how he handled this matter! Just for the record....they are BOTH STILL ALIVE AFTER TWO YEARS!! I have given them SO MUCH TLC that now, the Male is eating on his own without regurging for about 6 months now....he looks great! The Female, on the other hand, still has a ways to go...she's eating on her own all the time, but she keeps regurging every so often.....I'll get her better, though...eventually! They might have ALREADY been healthy IF there were some "friends" who claim to know it all about Emmys, that could have HELPED me!! I've gone so far as to force feed them (for quite a while in the past) a mixture of Gerber's Baby Food mixed with a little Pedialite.... Turkey-basted down her throat! It's kept her alive for all this time until she started eating on her own!! I think I'm doing a VERY GOOD job with them...seeing as I've had NO HELP!! Thanks Steve! As I told Steve in my personal email....With "friends" like that...who needs ENEMAS!!

I have read this thread from the start and I have started several time to post but decided to let it go.It is no secret that Neil and I are friends.I have been in his store more then likely more than any of you.I have a habit of going into anyone place and checking out all the the cages and I do it everytime I go to Neils and I have yet to see 1 dead animal in a tank but I have seen droppings but they were fresh,See Neil's store manager Angie is a clean freak and she knows how to take care of the animals and in my opinion does a better job then most people I know.The 1 point that you are missing is that this is a "PET STORE" and and far as pets stores go it is cleaner than most every other one I have seen. Which brings me to another point,Neil you need to hang on to Angie with both hands she is worth her weight in gold.   So unless you have been into the store and personally witnessed rotting ,s#!t covered bodies please do not repeat rumors.

just wanted to clear a couple things up then i'm out.
first someone mentiuoned i was defending lennox. this was not the case, i have no idea who lennox is so no reason to defend him. i was only trying to point out the fact that it seemed people are no longer even considering what a new perosn has to say, you just jump right on top of them if it's not what you wanna hear.
second, i was not trying to rag on neil, go back and read my post. it says right in the post that neil has made alot of changes. i applaude neil for the steps he's taken, but there are still flaws, hence my mentioning the emeralds. neil has notified me that these animals aren't for sale. how true that is i can't say as he seemed pretty willing to sell them to me a couple months back.
thirdly, on the emmy subject, neil i think you're mixing me up with someone else. i do not claim to know everything about emmys, #### i don't claim to know hardly anything about emmys. i keep chondros and only dabble a little in emmys. if i knew how to help those snakes neil, you know they'd be helped!! right?
those of you who know me know my passion for these animals, i wouldn't let an animal suffer if i had the key to save it. to suggest i would is laughable (as neil would put it). my apologies if i came on strong people, i'm very passinate about herps and things come out wrong sometimes.

In attempt to end or at least clarify this whole drama... My problem with Neil has long ended. My only motive was my concern for the herps. Its that simple. Since Neil says that everything is clean and in good condition, and since a few members of the gang here, who have been there more recently than myself, can vouch for this....mission accomplished. No underlying plots, or alibis, or aliases; I was just concerned for the animals. I apologize if my intent was not clear.

I'm dying to hear your response; I'm sure it will be well thought out. People like yourself are making my boys pretty popular around here.

In response to Ken's college comment. It is ok to be wrong. I understand it may sting a bit when a younger person lets you know that you slipped up, but nevertheless it is ok. Relax, you were partially correct.

Lennox....First of all...I really don't think Bob would like what you just did! That said....my store is VERY WELL ventilated...I have a front door AND a back door! The BACK door has a LARGE exhaust fan in it which is on 24/7...and when the front door is open....which happens every minute or two....the air gush is GREAT!! Again....please try and get the facts, first??? ....Neil
