In short, DON'T! Email notices are to ONLY alert you of a reply to your private message or your ad on this site. Replying to the email just wastes your time as it goes NOWHERE, and probably pisses off the person you thought you replied to when they think you just ignored them. So instead of complaining to me about your messages not being replied to from this site via email, please READ that email notice that plainly states what you need to do in order to reply to who you are trying to converse with.

Yeah, I know. They are a pain in the butt. But they pay the bills to keep my server running. Just a fact of life, I am afraid.

Want to get rid of them? Simple. Just become a Contributor level member or above and they will be gone. -> Please click HERE."

Is that too much for me to ask of you to keep this site running? Well, sorry about that. I too wish I could get everything for free. But alas.....

    =====================

Google Adsense ad revenue for December, 2025 was just $30 over the cost of the lease for the server running this site. So, in effect, the money providing the incentive for me to continue running this site is coming SOLELY from the paid memberships and sponsorships here. Which honestly ain't much....

A deal gone wrong with Mike Plank at, B.G.R.

steve, joe did the same thing to the ball python breeders. he was going around buying up loads of bp morphs and telling everyone that he liked expensive pets. :shrug01:

Questions to all.
Did he pay for all of them?
Or did he receive animals and never paid.
Ed what did you sell him?
Did all think a person would really buy 40k animals to look at?

Rick, they were going from person to person lying about not breeding them.

I sold them nothing, but maybe would have if I had something to sell at that time.

Rick, I will be nice today and not call you any names, but its obvious what your motiveations are and where your alliance is. :)

Mr. Ed
This thread was about being riped off.
simple?
I don't like to see any one getting shafted.....
Do you get it now Ed?
Now go crash the caramel albino market.
Good day!

Rick, good to see that your god, the man that you worship is going to get his 10 k back, you know joey.

You persist about this caramel albino thing,You must be living in a bubble. get out and go to a show or two and you will see what caramels are really going for. be an educated consumer.

Its nobel of you to be so loyal to joey, but take a hard look at the way he presents himself and the way he conducts business. :yesnod:

So be it.
I have NO problem with Joe or Wes.
Some do. So don't buy from him.
I am sure he will get by. Ian needs you more than Joe.
Like you would never buy from Joe I would never buy from Ian.
So I worship Joe you worship Ian. Who cares?
I could go deeper but let us part now ok?

I just found this thread this morning. Wow~ I think my eyes are crossed trying to read it all. I just skimmed the last several pages. Did I read correctly that Joe is getting his money back? I hope so. I think you should be careful and talk to your lawyers before attempting to demand the extra grand you were wanting though. I don't know the law at all~ but I think I've heard of a concept called "usury" (????) that says there will be penalties for you if you attempt to enforce such a large penalty. I could be wrong~ but check with your attorney to be sure just in case.

What about mail fraud?
Did yuo use the spread sheet?
Knowing Joe he will be back if no money is returned.

First off...Joe I hope you get you money back, I hate seeing someone get screwed.

Second...whats with everyone crying about getting screwed by middlemen. If you paid 4500$ for a snake and saw the same one for half the price elsewhere a week later, you didn't get screwed by middle man, you're just a person who was happy with a snake you bought until you found it cheaper some where else. If you buy a loaf of bread at the grocery store for 1$ and then see a sign on the way home advertizing bread for .50$, do you go tell that store owner they screwed you...well, if you would, and I was the store owner, I'd tell you that you screwed yourself for not shopping around.

Here is a tip for all the price whiners..."you can always find it cheaper somewhere else."

Odd morphs have always done the exact same thing...start out super high and steadily drop every year. remember the burmese pythons for 150,000$ now they're what??? 60$ why is that??? maybe because when they were 150,000$ there was 1 or 2 of them in existance, and now that they are 60$, it's because they are in every 10gal tank sitting on a mall pet store's shelf.

If you want to invest in breeding a species of reptile, look at the history of the animal...if it was 2000$ each 2 years ago, and 1000$ each last year....hhmmmm??? you probably shouldn't invest in that, unless you just think they are really really cool and aren't gonna bitch about price drops that following breeding season. Now if you find a specie that has had a steady price for 5, 10, even 20 years thats probably a good investment, even if the individual price for one animal isn't that high, at least you know its steady. Or you can br an original and pioneer your own morph or try importing tons of new species that don't get much attention and trying to corner the market on ones you have established in captivity.

Third...after reading all of Joes responses this whole post looks like a publicity stunt or advertising scheme. "I'm Bruce Willis" "I am going to publicly anounce how Wall Mart short changed me the other day, I am putting the Wall Mart out for good, blah blah blah....By the way I am the greatest actor in the world, be sure to see Die Hard #42".

ummmm yeah, so I'm not saying you didn't get ripped off Joe, and I'm not saying you're not a good breeder, but uhh....you need to tone it down a bit...and I know, I know, you're the biggest, best, and the baddest, and you already have so many customers, and you're about to tell me I don't matter, etc. etc...but it's just my 2 cents, so pick the pennies up off the sidewalk and put them in your pocket for later, or just walk over them, but I get the feeling you're about to post how I suck at placing pennies on the ground because they weren't face up for you.

I seriously read 75-80% more about you telling everyone how great you are than how bad this guy who ripped you off sux.

Rick did you see in this entire thread anywhere that Joe provided proof he was ripped off?
Could it possibly be that he has a grude against the accused so he is attempting to ruin his business?
No, of course Joe would not do something like that would he? He only made repeated feeble threats to do just that to a number of others who responded to this thread not to mention his announced intent to ruin a segment of the Gecko Breeders.

I only hope anyone who stumbles across this thread in the future reads through to the end and does not avoid Mike because Joe seemingly falsely accused him.

John E Dove

I don't know if the expectation was that Joe would post canceled checks, and then also provide some proof that animals weren't delivered ? We're not looking at a "he said, she said" situation here, where specific emails could better illuminate facts. This was pretty plain and simple, and after several days and thousands of views, if Joe's accusations were false, me thinks Mike Plank might have posted to correct things if the accusation was false are significantly innacurate. To call it a "seemingly false accusation" at this point, short of any denial from Mike, is quite the stretch. If Mike lives in a cave with no electricity and only hikes out to the post office every couple of weeks, I will stand corrected.

Oh please....Falsely accused him? I agree that Joe comes off as a tool in most of his posts but do you really think that he would come on here or any public forum and create a fictitious situation about a well known member of the herp community stealing money from him? That sort of blatant lie would be easily actionable in any court.

You have no evidence that he was falsely accused and yet you state it as a probability.

I think you guys are letting your dislike of this guy cloud your logic. You are grasping at straws now.

I trust Joe...perhaps I will have him photo the check.

While I don't doubt that Joe did get ripped off, he really offered no concrete proof, you must admit.

In the past, this type of thread would not have been allowed nor tolerated, but this is no longer the old BoI....

Just my opinion.

Those who keep saying that you are required to post proof on the BOI, should go back and re-read the rules.

"Proof is optional, but recommended if you would like to remove any doubts about the truth of what you are posting. But this is purely up to you, just as the believability of what you post is purely up to the reader of your words."

Joe is free to post as much or as little proof as he deems necessary, just as the reader has the right to form his own opinions based on any evidence presented. That being said, I get the feeling that MKR could post a signed confession from Plank and to some people it wouldn't matter as their opinions are based on their own prejudice against MKR and have nothing to do with the actual subject of this thread.

Did anybody actually read the first post in this thread. Two Emails were provided that demonstrate that a transaction was agreed upon.

The second thing is a simple question.

How do you prove that you DID NOT receive something? Proving a negative is pretty nigh impossible folks. I think that if anyone else had started this thread, none of the last several comments doubting the transaction would have been made.

Other business practices aside, the guy was getting screwed and made it public. Anyone who says he deserved it (and there were a few) is way the hell out of line.

Had I, speaking only for myself, as I always do, had ANY doubt as to the veracity of Joe's initial complaint I would most assuredly been all over him to provide proof.

I honestly don't think there is any real doubt as to Joe's allegations.

Wow

In some industries, producing and selling as many as possible is the goal, but if you look at the Ball industry, if you really step back and look at it, mass production and overproducing should not be the goal. Is the goal to see how quickly one can make every Ball morph sell for $100? "Well $100 x 1,000,000 snakes is still good money." Yeah, it is, good for one person, but what about the people who have purchased snakes in the previous years. If you are trying to push out the little guy, THE LITTLE GUY IS WHO IS BUYING YOUR SNAKES. I hope everyone reads this and sees what the MK guy is all about, and I have to say, it is not good for the Ball market. Selling for cheap is helping your new customer, but any good business has more former customers than new customers, so you are screwing more people than you are helping. Glad I have a good day job and can sit back and shake my head without really having to worry...but I know some people are definately worried, and with this guy producing snakes, people should be worried.
