So this guy told you he would pay you and to tell everyone all has been taken care of.....a week ago..no payment, what a scumbag. Definitely someone to avoid doing business with, thank god I don't keep snakes.
I am sure you already know this, but do not close the claim until you already have a refund in your pocket. Several times throughout the years, sellers at this point would promise that a refund is forthcoming only if the buyer closes their claim with Paypal. The buyer does so, and the seller does not come through. Not saying what would happen in this situation, (although he has already not come through with the promised refund) but once a claim is closed it rarely will be reopened by Paypal.I have officially escalated the case to a Paypal claim
Update on my situation. After a few heated e-mails between John and myself he has once again agreed to ship replacements. I have in writing he will be shipping the 28th.
Yeah I just checked that. Not sure what he was thinking saying he'd ship on the 28th. Here we go again.....

After pointing out the 28th was a Friday he agreed to ship the week of the 7th to avoid the holidays. I plan on reminding him on the 7th and we'll see what happens.
As a side note I suddenly have a negative reputation level after making a few comments against him. Odd....

Any progress for either of you?![]()
The amount I paid for them is not worth taking legal action.Well there's been an interesting development in my case. I sent John an email on the 6th reminding him that my replacements were due to shipped out the week of the 7th. I received an response from him on the 7th saying he was the "real" John Richardson and to give him a call. I wanted to keep everything in writing but I was having trouble sending emails so against my better judgment I called him. He said that someone else had been running his biz under his name and he had access to his paypal account and email. He also said when he went and checked on the animals most of the hatchlings were dead due to neglect. I told him about the BOI thread on him and he said he knew his name was ruined and would be selling out as a result. He assured me that he would be sending me a partial refund via money order in a timely manner.
This whole story sounds fishy but I'll give him the benefit of the doubt, again. Time will tell.

PayPal did not rule in my favor, so I will not be getting a refund. The seller did not return my texts, so I guess this is the end of the road for meThe amount I paid for them is not worth taking legal action.

I had a similar experience with John except I never received my snakes from him. I find this to be total BS. Who let's someone have total access to email, paypal, and their entire collection of snakes? I ordered 4 snakes from him. 1 100% het reverse het okeetee a reverse okeetee, a extreme okeetee, and a bloodred corn that was a Christmas present for my daughter. This was around the 10 of December. He promised to have them to me by Christmas when I made him aware that one was a gift. Needless to say my daughter was very disappointed when she didn't get her snake.
Check your email. We can give your daughter a belated xmas present. You're close enough to pick it up.
