#4. Ritchie... man.. you frequent both sites enough to know who Bretts fiance is and that the Bergs didn't own the pics.
A simple PM or post to webslave could have vouched for who the complainer was, afterall, she mailed you first..
.
I did not know who Meagan is. In fact I thought those were pictures of Michelle. Dnonnie's wife. and I wondered to myself why she looks so different. I did not know Brett has a Fiancee' (congratulations by the way, married life is wonderful, you will enjoy it)
When she e-mailed me....I told her to e-mail Rich Webslave.
She then e-mailed webslave.
Webslave told her what needed to be done. ( he wanted to cover his back side and not just go deleting some person's stuff)
She did not want to do it.
Webslave asked me who she was.
I told him she was a Fiancee of one of the posters
And while all this was transpiring....the pics were removed by the original poster. You all gotta give it some time. I might look like I am on the computer 24/7 but I am really not. You all gotta give it sometime. All he wanted was public validation before removing them. meagan decided it was not worth her time. Well if it was not worth her time....then it sure isn't worth mine or anyone elses.
All in all, it was handled somewhat poorly by the admins and mods..
The pics should have been removed at the first complaint since it was already established that the poster did not own the pics.
..
I will give you the fact it was established that the pics did not belong to the poster. if you give me the fact that the owner said it was all good. Why should I go remove a pic that someone is complaining about (someone I do not remember ever corresponding with) when the owner is right here saying it is okay.
here is a little story.
Guy A takes a picture of a snake (he now owns the picture)
Guy B buys the snake...he now owns the snake.
Guy A and Guy B are fighting.
Guy A decides to post HIS pictures.
Guy B decides to complain to RTB that the pictures of the snake in their pages does not belong to guy A.
RTB/Reptile haven shuts down Guy A's account before they even investigated.
In the end it was proven guy A owned the pics and he was caused an inconvenience because some GUY B wanted to complain that pictures of his snake are being posted on the web..........ring any bells? Let me put some real names.
I think it was some guy named Tim ( not sure). He takes a picture of a snake. Joe Polanco ends up buying the snake.
Joe and Tim are having a fight.
Tim was posting his pictures.
Joe Polanco decides to complain....after all he owned the snake.
Tim's account was locked before the investigation even took place.
Finally in the end...it ws proven that the pictures belonged to Tim.
And we have even more pages on Fauna to add to the drama.... all because someone decided to lock something before investigating.
So do not compare apples to oranges with this pictures being posted and someone calling the cops.
compare pictures to pictures.
If someone enters my house. Do I shoot him first? or do I investigate first? because he could be a cop. he could be a land lord. he could be the gas man or the mail man. or it could be a very cute SHE.
The owner of the pictures says it is okay.
But I have to tear everything down because some girl I have never heard of before (or at least do not remember of hearing of) decides to have them deleted? I know Brett. Brett says it is okay. Then I have some girl I never heard of saying no it is not. I will take Brett's word before I take anyone else that I do not know.
RTB locked down the guy's account before the outcome of the investigation was reached. And caused someone an inconvenience.
Webslave mearly asked her to register and post to cover his backside.
But since you were aware of the thread and that the pics were not the posters properties, then it is clear to everyone here that it is OK for you to violate the laws on intelectual property by having taken NO actions prior to the Url change on the pics..
Double standard if you ask me...
Steal from everyone else, just don't steal from me, quoteth the webslave..
..
I guess everyone decided to forget about a couple litlle facts.
Fact #1 The owner of the pic. The owner of the copyrights decided it was all okay. No harm no foul.
FACT # 2 Once he revoked the permission....the pictures disappeared. It does not matter how they disappeard...the point is they disappeared.
