In case most of you have not noticed, I made changes to the donation amounts as well as the durations for all of the paid membership levels. Things are winding down here, and this seems to be the most prudent way to deal with the "end of life" period of this site.

In short, DON'T! Email notices are to ONLY alert you of a reply to your private message or your ad on this site. Replying to the email just wastes your time as it goes NOWHERE, and probably pisses off the person you thought you replied to when they think you just ignored them. So instead of complaining to me about your messages not being replied to from this site via email, please READ that email notice that plainly states what you need to do in order to reply to who you are trying to converse with.

My mistake. This particular forum was not supposed to have the permissions set to allow anyone to delete nor edit their own posts. This may have become altered during the many changes done to this site over the last several months, so I assumed the way I originally set it up was still in force. As such, I assumed the original source links had to have been altered or removed AT the source.
My apologies for my error, and please note that this oversight has been corrected.
As for posting messages as either WebSlave or Rich Z, this has been covered at length before and I stand by that decision. If anyone has a problem with me doing that, well, get over it. That is my decision to make, not yours.

I am so glad everyone is happy with everyone else. I just wish it didn't require 4 pages of garbage to get there.

I would like to point out that the oppinions posted here are the oppinions of their poster and not those of Redtailboa.net as an entity. Just because many of the people posting here are admins at RTB just like me, that should not reflect on the community as a whole.
Personally, I don't think that Rich is an A-Hole, nor do I think any less of the people who stood up for him. I also don't think that Eddie or Brett are any of the names they were called.
Could this situation have been handled better by several of the parties involved? Absolutely! Can we go back and fix it? Nope. Can we look back and learn from it? Definately.
Let's all just go into the future with a few lessons under out belt.
Personally the biggest lesson I have gotten from this is that I am never calling anyone else names in e-mail, PM, or a public forum as that will lead to a reaction based on anger rather than one based on rational thought.

Yah...a lot of mole hills turned to mountains here... A lot of ranting over something that was quickly fixed but continued to draw debate is kind of odd...
I still think Rich is an A-Hole though and I'm sure he doesn't much like me or care what I think. woopee...it's mutual. At least we agree on something. Sure...Megan could have taken the time to join the site and then unjoined later...She could have stood on her head and counted to 1000. I don't think it would have made any difference. Even if it had, it was already being taken care of another way...BUT...Because Megan didn't want to join the site, she was subhuman and not only didn't deserve the time of day but was talked down to. Megan isn't into the drama part of this hobby. She likes the animals. She could care less about this petty argument stuff and this is why she does not come to this site. So since she avoids the drama...it is quite understandable that she prefers not to be thrown into the middle of it. "Do not bother me again. I will not help you" was the message that made me understand what I've been hearing for quite some timeabout Rich. It was rude and uncalled for. So you didn't have enough evidence to make you want to make a decision....a simple ..."have the owner of the photos contact me with proof of ownership and request their removal would have been more diplomatic" I realize you are a busy busy cornsnake breeder. But the 8 seconds all that would have taken would have saved him a lot more time than the ranting he has been doing since.

ok the pics are now longer showing .... we know what you think of Rich , and what he has inturn told you ..... so now where does this leave us at this point ? back to squabbling over something petty re hashing old scabs ? for someone who seems so unbothered by this and this site seems you are taking alot of time to keep repeating what was said well ago ? again theres alot more that could be , needed to be done then to beat ther poor horse whos already dead. i would say if anyone has to keep on about this mess just grab a shovel and burry the poor beast before he stinks up the entire thread! ..

Amusing how you have such a blind spot for your own girl friend's rude reply, now isn't it Brett? It was perfectly OK for her to demand I do something about the situation, eh? Basically she implied that resolving the problem is MY responsibility. "Do it by noon, or I will be calling Mr. Berger." Where does she get off issuing me an ultimatum? But that's not "rude" in your book, now is it? Now why is that?
I don't require anyone to like me in order to use my sites, but anyone whom continues to call me names as you are doing will certainly get their butt kicked out of here. You've done it twice now (I am not counting the one time in the email you sent me). Do it once more and you are gone. Warning points be damned.

Maybe this is all a big case of "Text does dont reflect the true feelings of what or how we mean to get something across". Maybe from both sides? *Shrug* I'm over it. Probably the biggest reason I keep coming back to this thread is because the only thing going on right now on RTB is snakemann87's new hide box...*yawwwwn*

Okay I'm new to the forum but I've read through many a threads in the past and after reading through only portion of this on-going book of argument I have a few things to say. First off speech is free but the knowledge of when to use certain speech appropiately only comes with time and willingnes to care about what's appropriate. So for those of you that are offended by something that's said, speak about it because that's your right but don't neccessarily expect the other person to care if it offends you and don't waste your time and energy past that. For the one who speeks the offensive language at inappropriate times or venues, you go right ahead but if you don't respect others enough to take consideration for what bothers them then don't expect them to respect you enough to give your opinions a second thought.
As for saying that no part of keeping a wild animal is natural and so it is assinine to try to mimic any kind of there natural situation, that statement in its self is actually at the very least poorly thought out. Example, just because you can eat a 24oz steak and a baked potato and a salad and down a few drinks until your stuffed to the gill in one sitting doesn't mean it's the healthiest thing for you to do. It's not any better for a snake to have a large meal in it's gut rather than several smaller ones than it is for you or I. People tend to feed snakes what they can get by on rather than what they would most likely be healthy on. I personally prefer to give more active snakes several smaller meals than one big one once a week because it keeps their metabolism up instead of keeping them sluggish. I do agree that six mice for a ball python of just about any size is overkill unless your only doing it to put a little extra weight on a breeding female. I also want to say before anyone jumps to twist my words around that I am not talking about power feeding snakes because yes that is unhealthy. What I'm talking about is if you have a snake that can sustain from one jumbo rat a week, instead giving it one med rat 3 times a week.. Roughly the same food intake but spread out so that the snake can still move comfortably and that it has plenty of food to burn for energy. Most animals metabolisms work relatively the same, if it only eats every so often it holds on to the fat as much as possible and spends as little energy between meals as possible because it's body thinks it has to conserve. On the other hand if an animal is eating on a regular basis then it will stay active and burn off excess fat because the body is getting a steady intake.
One last comment, I don't care how many animals someont has rescued, bred, cared for, adopted, etc. None of us know everything and all of us should keep that in mind before we start going for eachothers main arteries.
