In short, DON'T! Email notices are to ONLY alert you of a reply to your private message or your ad on this site. Replying to the email just wastes your time as it goes NOWHERE, and probably pisses off the person you thought you replied to when they think you just ignored them. So instead of complaining to me about your messages not being replied to from this site via email, please READ that email notice that plainly states what you need to do in order to reply to who you are trying to converse with.

A Select Few Reptiles (Paul Jarosh) Bad Guy!

Dave,
Without parsing all of your reply, I do think that he had primarily a lack of concern that only compounded a lack of knowledge, and he could have performed better in all aspects of the deal. Shipping gravid animals like that is more in line with what you expect with imports, not stateside animals. But "irresponsible" as he may have been, it wasn't going to generate an additional positive dialogue, if it was possible to begin with. His actions, and inactions, in this deal make him someone most readers here would want to avoid. But here I will quote you: "Regardless of how I replied, he screwed up and has not come forward to make things right". As I reread the exchange of emails between you, I see him offer $40 as compensaton, which you queston, but then say "whatever". If another amount was more appropriate, I don't see it mentioned. I also see him offer a full refund, while you say he now has yet to "make things right". If returning the animals for a full refund was "irresponsible", then what was the alternative that you suggested that he declined? My question is not to debate whether he did or did not deliver as expected, or the merit of your bringing it to the BOI. Its what you think the restitution should have been since you rejected his full refund offer, where and when you communicated this to him, and what his reply was. Would he have responded to a counter-offer for restitution? I don't know. But if the full refund offer is not "making it right", and I agree that it may not be, it is up to you, the customer, to define what does "make it right".

Hi Dave

Dave you should stick by your guns no matter what :shootfoot .Dave you been a stand up guy since i known you at the Detriot Reptile Show since i been getting snakes from him.Got idiots like Paul all he cares bout the almighty dollar. The Snakes should've been shipped FedEx Express not standard aside it being what you paid for its better and safer for the snakes that have to make the trip and the thought of putting them through that trip twice is just obsurd. The travel stresses the critters out enough to have to make the trip twice who knows what it would do to them. At least though you learned the type of person he is a coward and a crook and were able to let everyone know about it. BTW Mr Flaherty you cant go between 2 only 1 person can be right .

Even after all these years I can say that Dave was a one of a kind customer. He received a great deal on some quality animals with a few freebies mixed in, but just wanted more.

The method of packaging was used time and time again not only by myself, but also by other top breeders. Basically a nice wide box lined with balled newsprint, insert individually bagged snakes, and top it off with more balled paper for a snug fit. This was all shipped over night as discussed.

I was truly upset with the DOA snow, she was a great snake despite the minor kink in her neck. But the boys never minded her appearance. Due to this defect she was clearly included as a freebie. And despite the fact that she was a freebie, I decided to refund some money ( total price/total number of animals = refund) to try and keep a customer happy. But base on phone and email Dave was not going to be happy unless he received full market value, for something he didn't pay for in the first place.

I still can't get over how I managed to send a gravid animal. If truly in it for only the money, I would think I would have waited for her to drop and then send an emaciated post lay female.

After the increasingly outrageous demands, along with the threatening emails and calls, I decided to cut off contact as there seemed to be no way to please him. I paid him for a free snake and as a last resort offered a full refund but he refused to return them.

This is surely one of those deals that I should have passed on.

This thread has been buried for 3 years....why on earth did you feel the need to come back 5 YEARS after this happened to explain your side...You have now dug back up your own dirt....I see no point in that, as a response 5 years later doesn't make you look like a stand up guy...At least before you pushed it back to the top, this situation had been done and over for quiet some time, I personally wouldn't bump my own bad guy thread 5 years after the situation.

Lol I was thinking the same thing, Willow. All it's really done is made me add another person to the good ol' DNBF list.

That's funny, I don't feel tardy.....

I hope he responds with an explanation worth something.

Worth something, apparently not. Even after all this time he is making excuses.

My guess somebody has the desire to be publicly spanked. I'd be happy to oblige just this one time. :dgrin:

It would have been a great deal had I received what what I paid for. I wanted what I paid for, nothing more nothing less, I received less. You ignored my e-mails but you responded to the e-mail I made up inquiring about some other snakes you had for sale. I bet you are just great at dodge ball. :duck01:

Well for starters, you were not then, and I can confidently say are not now, a top breeder. To group yourself with them is an insult to them.

Top breeders wouldn't pack 2 to 3 animals per bag like you did.

Top breeders wouldn't ship Standard overnight when Express overnight was discussed, paid for and agreed upon.

Top breeders would know how far along and or approximately when the snake became gravid.

Top breeders wouldn't ship out a snake that had a chance of dropping eggs in transit.

Top breeders would know that if you were only able to fit eight ad sized balled up pieces of paper in the box for cushioning the intelligent thing to do would go to either a larger box or multiple boxes.

Top breeders would know that nine adult snakes packed together in the manner in which you did and then shipped Standard overnight which after being told would result in them being on the vehicle all day in the middle of Summer would have the common sense to know there would be a definite chance of a fatality or two. Top breeders would not take such a chance.

Top breeders don't ignore their customers e-mails.

Just because you had a few snakes in your possession and they managed to breed it doesn't make you a top breeder, hell it barely makes you a breeder at all. Just because nature took it's course it certainly doesn't mean you had anything to do with it happening.

You were and I can only guess still are a poor excuse for a breeder and the idea of you being a top breeder is only a fantasy you had during a wet dream which I am sure you screwed up too.

Even in public schools, $600 ÷ 9 doesn't = $40. When you tell me it would be shipped Express overnight and you pocket the difference by shipping Standard overnight you expect me to be satisfied? When I paid for a gravid snake and it drops eggs in transit and they are all lost and I have to then take her to the vet you think I would be satisfied? The deal was for the 9 snakes to be shipped Express overnight and by your own admission at least two were gravid. The loss of the eggs due to your piss poor to nonexistent record keeping, the trip to the vet to have the eggs removed from the egg bound Butter Motley, the DOA of the snow and your choice to utilize the cheaper Standard overnight shipping and you expected me to be satisfied with a mere $40 compensation? Get real. :notallthe

I could wager a guess, you didn't know what the hell you were doing!!!

Like the Bloodred female?

Outrageous is your idiocy in (finally) replying over 5 years later making a feeble attempt to excuse your ignorance and short cuts you took back then. Outrageous is you thinking that anyone here believes your crap excuses. Go back under the rock you were hiding under for the past five years. I look forward to your response in 2015.

I can't help but wonder if Mr. Jarosh believes that negative attention is better than no attention at all? Maybe he's hoping that a lively BOI thread will spill some business his way? :shrug01: I mean, after all...look at all the other creeps who claim that their bad-guy threads generate tons of business for them. Why not give it a shot?

:shootfoot (methinks his shot went the wrong direction!)

I was thinking along the same lines. One of the first things that came to mind when I saw he responded was hmm, I guess he is getting back into reptiles and he must think this is a good way to get his name out there. :notallthe

Oh I hope this guy isn't still into corns. Just the thought of how the packaging and shipping went as Dand related, the blatant disregard for the snakes well-being :ack2:
just too many no-no's on the shipping issue = :no01:

Stay tuned until 2015 for the next chapter... lol

DAND I'm sorry for your experience. In 2005 market values, what would have been adequate compensation, barring the return of all the snakes for refund?

I would have settled for reimbursement for the vet visit, the difference between the cost of shipping Standard overnight and Express overnight and an additional $26.66 to make the $40.00 he had reimbursed me to equal 1/9th $600 ÷ 9 = $66.66.

As for the eggs, well as the saying goes, you can't count your chickens (or in this case corn snakes) before they hatch. They may not have been viable or they could have been, either way I couldn't say and therefore I wouldn't expect to be compensated for them. Though, if top breeder paul were half the man he thinks he is he would have offered to make good on half of what was lost. Nonetheless, this is all moot as he is no more a man than a top breeder.

Omg I didn't know CS came in snow morph! I would have bought one long time ago! Had a corn for Kyrah once. He ended up Dying do to Nero issues from being inbred! How much they cost!?

Select Few... You need to buy a select few brain cells! If your such a good breeder, how did you not know your female was gravid? That's just cheap, irrasponsible (sp?) business on your end! If I do decide to buy a snow corn it won't be from you!

Snow corn snakes are probably the earliest double homo recessive morphs in corns. They are a dime a dozen (still prety though) and go for anywhere between $20 and $40. Check out Blizzard corns, Whiteout corns, Avalanche corns and Powder corns. Each one is whiter than the next.
