Replying to the email just wastes your time as it goes NOWHERE, and probably pisses off the person you thought you replied to when they think you just ignored them. So instead of complaining to me about your messages not being replied to from this site via email, please READ that email notice that plainly states what you need to do in order to reply to who you are trying to converse with.

    Google Adsense ad revenue for December, 2025 was just $30 over the cost of the lease for the server running this site. So, in effect, the money providing the incentive for me to continue running this site is coming SOLELY from the paid memberships and sponsorships here. Which honestly ain't much....

Inquiry AC Reptiles, Anthony Caponetto

I think that it is a big move to be able to see where one made a mistake and correct it. Although Anthony's original reaction may leave a little to be desired, I can understand getting riled up when you hear your name is on the BOI.

Someone recently told me, its not whether or not mistakes happen, its how you correct them. I think that Anthony went above and beyond with his apology. He offered a credit towards the purchase of another gecko and explained his side of the story. Although not everyone will agree with it, he did what he thought was the right thing to do, and I believe he "made it right."

As I said already, from my experience, Anthony is a good guy, and I will continue to do business with him in the future.

Agreed. And contrary to popular belief... big named reptile breeders are human too.

I have five geckos from Anthony Caponetto. They are all beautiful animals! They were shipped great,their health is great and I WILL continue to buy from AC Reptiles!! He has the best around!!
 
I can't say that Anthony is a bad guy in any way since he isn't out there ripping people off and/or improperly shipping reptiles....

But He does seem to have a problem dealing with mistakes. I think we all have dealt with people that will tell you they were wrong and they are sorry only to add in little comments that let you know that they still want to blame you.

I was happy to see the resolution after Shaderas post of his email apology. Then Anthony came back and had to have another "It's my fault....but really yours" post. Doesn't make him a bad guy, but not really someone that is pleasant to deal with either.

In the end I think it is really funny that someone who's profession is in computers can have such a well known about email problem for so long. Sounds more like an excuse than a problem.

Thank you, Matthew. It's nice to see someone looking into the details and not just starry-eyed over the big name. You've dealt with me, on a gecko purchase of all things. Am I such a horrible customer? Did you see ANY of what he claims I am?

According to my records (which I just double checked), the gecko was supposed to ship Tuesday 2/10 to arrive on Wednesday 2/11. Shadera waited until the following morning (2/12) to contact me and after all was said and done, I issued a refund that same evening.

Right. I've grown this business to this point by stealing money through paypal since 2001...and Shadera just happened to be the first person smart enough to catch me.

You completely missed the gist of what I was trying to say. It was that I was shocked that you had (the way I understood it) said you wouldn't give me a refund of my money, and then you went to put the gecko back up for sale. A business doesn't grow on treating people like that, and my phrasing was to point that out. I'm not saying you've done that to everyone as you claim I did. And so what if the tag was removed for 7 minutes? I saw it once, long enough for me to form in my mind what had happened and didn't look again. You make it sound like I sat for 7 minutes refreshing the page? You still don't address the FACT that you say you explained that to me but didn't.

I've seen the prices you charge for your geckos, and you get it. I expected that if I gave you my money, that you would get my emails. That issue has been being posted about for months, on your own forum! (Only found by me after all this) And you still hide behind the growing pains excuse. If I were getting that much per gecko, I'd be digging through my spam box by hand daily for those customer emails, thankful that they had contributed to the place I was at in life. Or at least would hire someone to do that until the problem was resolved.

Like I said, I considered it the end of it when I got my money back. But it's this picking at me crap that's pushing my buttons. You wanna show how much of the bigger man you are, but you just can't help yourself can ya? I am only human as well, and I can't stand being picked at.

No, I also don't see it in your emails posted.

I have also bought some supplies and a book from Anthony with no problems. So I didn't want to get too involved in this thread since I didn't want to feel like I was picking a side since I have positive dealings with both parties.

However I do feel that the tone of a lot of Anthony's replies on this thread, as well as others, has been less than what I would call cool headed. It doesn't make him a bad guy in my eyes, and I'm guessing since you have stated that you didn't feel it was BOI bad guy post worthy, that you don't think so as well.

Anthony just needs to stop and think before he posts. And instead of taking things personally, take them professionally. A lot of his customers are probably willing to put up with the attitude but not all will be.

That right there is a lie. If you considered it the end of it when you got your money back, why say anything at all in this thread at the beginning. To me, you're the one that wouldn't let this end peacefully. I read the emails. Your's seem a lot more hot-headed than Anthony's to be honest. That's just my opinion of course. But then when I see him offer the olive branch, and you come back in here and throw it on the ground and stomp on it a few times, I call you the one that's continuing to make this an issue

For anyone who doesn't want to read this thread I'll summarize it.

A misunderstanding occured

Bottom Line:If you don't want to wait a week or two for your gecko, go get some crappy gecko at a local petstore, however if you want the best stick with AC Reptiles.

I own two of his geckos

Did you order something, or are you trying to order something? How many times have you attempted to get in touch and how often?
 
i have emailed him 6 times with no responsed and i ordered a 175 dollar rack and it has been a month and it has not come in does any body have his number.
 
This is my first post on the BOI but I am not new to forums. I look back to my first online purchase and how hesitant I was or reluctant for that matter. The thought of an animal being shipped over night was frightening to me. However reluctant I was I secured my order with Anthony through email (before the new shopping cart- back in 2007) and when I received the gecko I was blown away by first the packaging and care that went into shipping the gecko. After pulling the deli cup out and looking over the gecko I was again blown away by the health of the animal. This juvenile was seriously fed good and well taken care of. I was so happy with the way he conducts business and his overall concern for the animal that to date I have spent over $1900.00 between three orders. I did get a couple bonus geckos in some of those orders too! :D

He does not have his phone number available to the public or customers. Best bet is email. The racks come from BARRS. The backorder might be on their end.
