Google Adsense ad revenue for December, 2025 was just $30 over the cost of the lease for the server running this site. So, in effect, the money providing the incentive for me to continue running this site is coming SOLELY from the paid memberships and sponsorships here. Which honestly ain't much....

. Seriously now, Anne is very young, in fact close to a year ago she couldn't even enter a legal transaction. In my opinion we can hardly talk of a reputation to be ruined when none has been built yet. This is way different than with well seasoned men and women that know better and in spite of that scam people. Time will tell how she will evolve and if she has changed her ways, it's within her to do it.

With your past indiscretions, and now a subject of a BOI thread, you have to go above and beyond to prove yourself. Just take a pic of the bp with today's paper and the vet bill. You're not trying to show off the snake so don't worry about the quality as long as it is legible.
I am rooting for you to be able to do this. Once this is done this thread is pretty much over. You've already said you'll make arrangements with Scott, so case closed. No one has proof of, or accused you of trying to scam Scott. It has just been wild speculation up to this point. Right now you're leaving too many unanswered questions especially when it would be so easy to put them to bed.
In the future Anne, remember you have to be painfully honest when you put things in writing. The most innocuous statement can turn into a big deal.

I comletely disagree with the Myspace comment. You have to keep in mind that Anne is still a child by most of our definitions. What she had on the Myspace page was very mild compared to alot of what you see on there. She is a teenager acting like a teenager when it comes to what she had on Myspace.
With that said, I still stand by my comments that it is much better to have nothing on Myspace then it is to be on there. Just like this, it has come back to make people question you, but only when added to previous information of prior acts.

That may be true but why would you put something like that anyplace on the web when you have a history of scamming people and you are trying to make a fresh start in a new industry? If she were really trying to start a reptile business and change the way people view her she should have posted that info on there.
I am sorry but I still don't see being 19 an excuse. If she isn't mature enough to be held accountable for what she posts on the web then she shouldn't be starting her own business.

I am much more likely to write off a 40 year old behaving like this then I am a 19 year old. I was there once and remember how easy it was to make poor decisions. A 19 year old can change, a 40 year old....not quite as easily....

The law doesn't look differently at her age once she is 18 and over. Why should we give her a pass based on age?
To say that these things are ok is discrimanatory at least. Her past acts weren't simple errors or lack of judgement. They were well thought attempts and successful undertakings of scamming. She didn't just borrow pics, she took the time to photoshop multiple images and then use mutliple alias to swindle.
Whether she was 16, 18 or 30 what she did is the same. To me, the age thing holds as much validity as bringing gender into the discussion would.
Overall, as a non business owner she was a bad seed, and now as someone running a business the expectations tighten on her. Expectations of people dealing with her have risen not fallen away with her new role.

I definitely follow on how things can become easier with age. I just hope her 3 years of scamming isn't going to follow that last sentence. But yes, the less time a habit or standards have been done then it very seldom is easier to break the mold.
Time will be the telling factor and hopefully things do turn out better. No one has ever mentioned that we need more bad people in the hobby. lol.

I think that part of the purpose of boards like this is to alert people to what seller's have done in the past, so that adequate care may be taken in making a purchasing decision. I work hard for my money and do not want to fall prey to a scammer. The past performance of this seller leaves a lot of room for improvement.
That being said, there is a lot riding on the way that this seller takes care of this particular transaction, and those in the near future which will come under some close scrutiny here.
Sometimes, and a few times on this very board, people of various ages have claimed the new leaf (poor overused leaf) and then unfortunately gone on to other scams. Other times, people have made errors and genuinely learned from them.
I hope this young person grows and learns from this experience; but **actions speak louder than words**, and what she actually *does* now and in the future here will show the path she actually wants to take.

I think Scott should give praise to the python gods that he got his money back from this young lady, and I'd be willing to bet that using a USPS money order may have played a factor. Well, since this post was brought to my attention, I feel I need to add my 2 cents. First of all, Scott, let me tell you how fortunate you are to have had your money returned. Consider yourself a lucky man. Now turn and run as fast and as far as you can in the opposite direction.
I am a member of the glider community. I am also a person who was scammed by Anne Troff. Let me tell you a little bit about this girl. If you look at title of the first forum on Glider Central , the largest glider board on the net, you will notice the name "Abra". That is one of Anne's extremely numerous aliases. The "Abra Alert" on Glider Central is to warn the community of scammers. Anne earned the right to have that title named after her. There have been quite a few scammers in the glider community, but only one so treacherous to have the honor of the scammer files named after her.
The scary thing about this child is that she did not just prey on the unsuspecting stranger. She also scammed people that considered her a friend. I was one of those people. I talked to her daily for over a year. I bought many animals from her. I knew her reputation as a scam artist, but I believed her claim to have "changed". I considered her a friend and trusted her. I stuck my neck out on the line to defend her and what did she do for me? She sold me $5000 worth of leucistic "hets". Well, evidence came to my attention that the animals that I bought from her were not what she claimed them to be. I called her on it. She denied it. I hired a lawyer. I had more than enough evidence to prove what she had done. My lawyer wanted to seek jail time for this 18 year old delinquent. Her boyfriend refunded me and the case was dropped. So yes, she did make good with me in the end. It took me hiring a lawyer for her to do that though.
Now, as to her being too young to make wise choices. That is bull. My 9 year old son may make some bad choices, but he would never steal a penny from a stranger, never mind take a friend for $5000. If she could do something like that to a friend, what is she capable of doing to a stranger? I do not believe this zebra will ever change her stripes. She will tell you whatever it is that she thinks you want to hear. But do not trust her or give her an inch. She is the most dishonest, conniving person that I have ever dealt with in my 37 years. She plays little Miss young and innocent and hopes that you will buy it. I am not the only "friend" that she has burned. There are many of us. When I made a public post about my story, dealing with her, nearly 100 other people came forward to tell their story of how they two had been a victim of her lies and deceitfulness. When that all came out, she finally disappeared for good from the glider world. Unfortunately, she has found a whole new world in which to victimize people.
Please, take extreme caution with dealing with this individual. She is not to ever be trusted.

Something to ponder. I will ask a question. Has anyone known of a scammer changing their ways? I have never known one to do this. Every scammer I have seen is still trying their best to scam in one way or another. This is what I have found to be true.

The one thing that REALLY ticks me off with this is the fact that I had thought Anne was a decent herper out to try and build a positive reputation. It looks like I was completely mistaken. Yet another who turns out to be a totally different person from the one I thought they were. Right Nicolai.
