    Google Adsense ad revenue for December, 2025 was just $30 over the cost of the lease for the server running this site. So, in effect, the money providing the incentive for me to continue running this site is coming SOLELY from the paid memberships and sponsorships here. Which honestly ain't much....

I will assume that is a solicited response Aprylla. I maintain the same position that I had when I started this transaction- I would still rather have the animals.

Since I feel that this has come to closure, there is something I would like to address. Laura Cox, in reference to cutting me slack... and Ritchie being a stand-up guy that is fighting for our freedom...

I never made an issue out of my life history because I wanted to be judged on facts and current actions. I also feel that we are responsible for what we say as well as what we do and will always have to answer for it. A reputation can be ruined by making a comment even if he was just hot headed at the time. (And if he got that hot headed over a deal that did not even involve him, and his words were carefully thought out and typed rather than mistakenly uttered aloud, I wonder how level headed he would be if he were actually INVOLVED in the transaction. It was enough for me to shy away from ever doing business with him. You know what they say about first impressions.)
That being said, I think I happen to be a stand-up guy myself. The 1980 after my initials stands for the year I entered The United States Military Academy at West Point. I served for four years on active duty in the 1st Bn 504th Parachute Infantry of the 82d Airborne Division. I am a decorated JumpMaster from service in Panama, Haiti, and Honduras/Nicaragua. When I left active duty I served for 12 additional years with the 19th Special Forces Group. Upon leaving active duty, I became a State Trooper and have served for the past 16 years in the Pennsylvania State Police. I know a little about protecting freedoms and ways of life, and despite how I think I have lived my life, I still think it is necessary to choose my words with care and always do my best to give a proper impression of how I feel.

LOL Well that my friend, is why on arriving at Bragg I made sure I was in 1st COSCOM. Jump school was enough for me.... call me a chump I am fine with it ;)

I was there from 84-87, 3rd of the 4th ADA, 82nd airborne!!! We were right between delta and 5th group. Spent my nights at the NCO club on Pope airfore base. Wasnt much for hanging out with the "Legs"!!!!

Just wanted to update...

Mr. Gilbert and I have been discussing this matter privately.

Unfortunately, the snakes that I was supposed to pick up did not turn out to be of a quality that I would send to Mr. Gilbert (or anyone else for that matter), so after discussing it with him, Mr. Gilbert will get a 100% refund from me and has already been sent a very lengthy apology regarding this entire mess. His refund will be made by USPS money order and which will be sent out to him Priority tomorrow (Monday).

I apologize to him publically as well for this mess and everything that has occurred within the past 3 weeks or so with this transaction. I have also offered to make other restitution to him in the future for having his funds "tied up" for 3 weeks, and hope that he will accept my offer.

Thank you very much to everyone here that expressed your concerns, both for me and for Mr. Gilbert. Thanks to all who offered advice to both of us. A huge thanks to those who offered to send me money at a time that I was in such terrible financial shape; however, I have and will decline all offers of funds, and have only asked that the persons who made offers of loans and things to me either check my current and future Ebay auctions for any items of interest to them, and/or to give me a chance in the future (after I am financially secure again) to conduct reptile transactions with them, later on when I am able to get back into reptiles again.

Thanks again to everyone who added something to this thread in hopes of helping us work things out. You guys helped a lot and IMO this board worked and did exactly what it is here for...

Thank you for posting the update here. I realize that it's infinitely easier for those of us watching from the outside to toss out opinions and advice. As annoying as that is, being on the outside is what makes all those opinions and advisements desirable.

I, personally, would buy from you anytime, Aprylla.

I'm really glad to hear that you & Shawn have been in touch privately and are working this out. I'm sure we'll hear from him when all has been resolved.

Thank you for filling in your half of the conclusion to this story. I look forward to hearing from the other half later in the week when your payment has been received and accepted. I'm sorry to hear that the Ball Pythons weren't the fat'n'sassy ones you would have felt capable of passing on.

I'm very glad that the BOI helped bring this to a positive closure.

I don't think that I would consider this a "bad guy" thread, just a learning spree for anyone reading through. If Aprylla had something to sell that I wanted, I would not hesitate to purchase from her.

Aprylla, this is an awesome post. I think it showed a lot of integrity that you did not sell this lot of sub par snakes you went to pick up, if more people are as particular about what they sell, the industry as a whole will benefit.
 
I have been reading the thread, hoping everything would work and i'm glad it did. I would like to see your Ebay or ReptiBid items if you don't mind Aprylla, but i don't know what User ID you use. I'm interested, especially if they are reptile related.

Thanks for posting that. I definitely wasn't trying to use this forum for self promotion, and I realized after I re-read my post that it may have looked that way. I apologize if it did, I was just trying to politely decline the offers of monetary assistance that several people have offered to me.

Thanks again everyone. I am on my way out the door now to go to the post office to get Mr. Gilbert's money order and then send it off to him.
 
Just so that everyone is aware, Mr. Gilbert's refund was sent out today just after 1:30 PM Central Time. I am attaching a copy here of the postal receipt which includes the tracking number as well as the stub form the money order receipt. I was told that Mr. Gilbert can expect his refund to arrive most likely on Wednesday.

I hope that after Mr. Gilbert receives his refund that it will draw this matter to a close. :)
