    Google Adsense ad revenue for December, 2025 was just $30 over the cost of the lease for the server running this site. So, in effect, the money providing the incentive for me to continue running this site is coming SOLELY from the paid memberships and sponsorships here. Which honestly ain't much....

Sorry to hear about that Kelli. We had very similar correspondence with him in October/November last year for several thousand dollars worth of geckos. We never got payment, so we didn't sent them to Hamm. It started to look suspicious to us after a while.
 
Sorry to hear about this, Kelli. Quite simply, the rule of thumb for doing business these days is "TRUST NO ONE". It's unfortunate, but it is the only safe way of doing business.

I hope you get your money from this guy, but I'm sure you know as well as I do that unless he CHOOSES to pay you, there probably won't be much that could be done other than spreading the word about him and hope the squeeze puts a hurt on him doing business again.

It seems to me that if this guy is forging International Bank Transfer paperwork, there would be a higher authority that could be notified. Heck, we all have his photo and a shipping address!!!

I know, it sucks but you are right, you just cannot trust anyone when it comes to business. I doubt I will ever get any of the money he owes me, but at least I have the satisfaction of letting others know he is a thief. Another lesson learned, eh?

Given his IP I don't think that the Mallorca address is legit. His current location is on the Spanish mainland.

Did he give you an address, or was one associated with the account from which you got the deposit?
 
While I haven't been able to verify that the user name "spainretic" on bob clarks forum has the same email address yet as the other spainretic accounts, I did find that users photobucket account that he used on BC forums.

Within that photobucket account, I did find one picture that I already identified belongs to the thief and he posted it on another site with the stolen geckos. So, I would state that it is highly likely that the user on BC forums is the same guy.

This is the photobucket account. There is a few pictures that might be able to help identify this guy. Including, a picture of one person.

Sorry to hear about this Kelli, I hope something good comes out of this somehow (either you get your money back, or he gets what he has coming to him).

Had a few peope try to pull similar stuff with me with some Rhacs, for the last Dec. Hamm show.
 
Oh my gosh Kelli, this is terrible!! I am just sick to my stomach that this happened to you. I sincerely hope that something can be done to both get your money and stop this thief from doing this to anyone else. :angry:

This guy booked a lot of geckos from us last year. We waited for deposit a long time...he said the money was wiered, that something went wrong with the transfer and so on. Exactly the same behavior as described by you Kelli.
We were lucky though...cancelled his booking and he didn´t recived any animals from us.
 
I have gathered some more information. The guy's real name is Nicolas Gourai and he is originally from France. He also has posted on some European forums with the username "SSEnigma" and "Whiros". Apparently Alberto and I are not the only reptile breeders he has scammed.

That's horrible!! I hope everything works out for you and I'm so sorry for your loss.
