In short, DON'T! Email notices are to ONLY alert you of a reply to your private message or your ad on this site. Replying to the email just wastes your time as it goes NOWHERE, and probably pisses off the person you thought you replied to when they think you just ignored them. Yeah, I know. They are a pain in the butt. But they pay the bills to keep my server running. Just a fact of life, I am afraid.

Want to get rid of them? Simple. Just become a Contributor level member or above and they will be gone. -> Please click HERE."

Is that too much for me to ask of you to keep this site running? Well, sorry about that. I too wish I could get everything for free. But alas.....

    =====================

Google Adsense ad revenue for December, 2025 was just $30 over the cost of the lease for the server running this site. So, in effect, the money providing the incentive for me to continue running this site is coming SOLELY from the paid memberships and sponsorships here. Which honestly ain't much....

Bad Guy Avangel Reptiles- parasitic reptiles, and more

I guess that is for you to decide, but I do know, no one is arguing my validation of me being a "MILITARY VETERAN" now, I guess that means, even though we may have an entire family of veterans, we don't always know what it means to be a veteran.

Some of us, (26 years USAF, spouse, 23 years USAF) know exatcly what it means to be a veteran. We can also read a DD214. 3 years total, one tour in the AOR as a mechanic, likely never leaving the Green Zone, doesn't make you Chris Kyle or Bob O'Neill. Give it a rest.

Thank you for your service to our country MSgt. Schleben.
His claims of being a vet are so overplayed and kind of disgraceful to the real veterans. I'm not even a military person and I could see he hadn't done anything serious based on the form he posted. IMO, it's a cop out, and a weak one at that... And definitely not an excuse for his behavior toward these customers.

Don't misunderstand my post. Everything done in a military uniform is 'serious', whether it's the cook making the meals or the Pararescue jumping into the middle of the fight. Everyday you're in the AOR, someone wants to kill you, just because of the uniform. But I don't like when someone uses their military service to excuse poor behavior.

That was pretty much my point, the way it came up had no relevance to the geckos, then when he called my husband asked him about it and he just acted sketchy about it and changed the subject, which instilled doubts.

Update on Mew... she did eat the one day, then has refused food for the last 2 feedings, so she got carnivore care. She had gained one gram up to 28 total, and weighed her again tonight and shes vack down to 26. Every time I get one on her, she turns around and loses 2. I have a small amount of feces collected in the refridgerator, and still looking for a newer fresh sample.

My apologies for my misspeaking. That's my fault, I couldn't quite figure out the appropriate wording to express what I was thinking, and it came out poorly. I respect anyone who is brave enough to volunteer to do something like that. I know I couldnt. I simply meant that he talked as if he had been involved in or seen some horrific things while over there when it was likely he didn't see much action, and seems to have used that almost as an excuse for poor behavior or poor treatment of animals. At the very least, it was basically irrelevant to the issue at hand when it was brought up. What he may or may not have seen should not effect how he treats people and animals that much. Additionally, the flip flopping on whether he was a veteran or not is definitely weird to me. He claims to be a vet, then says he isn't, then goes back to saying he is. Flip-flopping should be for shoes and politicians only IMO (haha). I think we all agree with you on your dislike of his use of military service to excuse poor behavior as well.

I'm really surprised that no one else has pointed out that it's pretty obvious that the pics sent are not of the same animals received, unless I'm getting my pictures confused. The spots simply don't match up in the pictures shown on page 2.

I don’t see anything significant, via markings, that points to different/switched geckos.
Now, the very first picture is of a different gecko than what was received. However, the gecko was switched, to the other, with the OP's prior knowledge & consent (prior to shipment).
The OP simply posted that first picture to show what she had initially chosen before that gecko was switched to the gecko that was received.

No the pics are the same geckos (the shtctb and the eclipse WITH spots on its back) as the ones that i recieved, however they did not arrive looking like the pictures healthwise... weight and color

And page 2 are Nikki's geckos.. she also had one switched witg prior knowledge because it was too thin, but they also didnt arrive looking like the pictures healthwise

Mine still hasnt pooped.. :/ her test is with avian though waiting on results.
Mew hasnt eaten since the day she ate the tiny dubias... ive been giving her CC but still no poop. Shes going to get a warm soak tonight and see what happens

The Female that should have been sent to me, I was told that her tail was too skinny, so he was going to send a different one, a "sibling". Also, I wanted to add a new update to this saga. Bubba, my big male who i got in underweight and thinner then he should have been, has been improving immensely. Even IM shocked at the improvement he has made. All because he has been wormed, fed, and given the ONLY feeder he will eat. Dubia. All you need to see is this before and after photo and its just tells the story right there. On 4/7/2015 he weighed 65 grams. Tonight, he is at 72 grams. He also has shed, and his color is amazing. Not dull, or ashy-looking...butthis bright yellow, and he's beautiful....

Did either of you get any test results back yet?

No test results yet, but its pending for Oswald. He was the super skinny one. He's up to 43 grams now(from 41 the last time i weighed). Slow and steady. He's also getting ready to shed. Again. lol. The wormy female, Sarafina, is up to 45(up from 42 the last time i weighed her). Its a slow road, and they are getting so much better. My timing on the poop tho. SMH. Its horrible. I have just one for the vet, from Oswald. the others are pooping normal, but its already dried and crusty when I find it. GRRRR. Its frustrating.

He looks worlds better - great job and hope he continues to improve!

I got the crypto test back for Oswald, and its negative. Unless one of the other 3 start to get weird on me and stop thriving, I will forgo the crypto tests for them for now. Because they came form the same place and same environment, the assumption is that if one is then they all are. I have had no other issues so far. All the poop that they have been having is normal. Firm, and equal in urates and digested food. No vomiting. No diarrhea. AND no visible worms form the good poop I have been able to collect. I also found out that I have a 12 hour time frame for the fecal samples and getting them to the vets for THAT part of the testing. GRRR. I have a good one from Bubba, and I will be trying to get it to the vet before I go to work. I can't use the little females now because its been longer then 12 hours. *sigh* TIMING...

Happy to hear the crypto test was negative. Usually, the vet wants the sample as soon as possible, but I know mine told me to put the sample in the fridge if it's after hours and get it in the next day. Hopefully you can get yours in to be tested. No visual pinworms is good, but it's the worms you can't see with the naked eye that are the big problems. Best of luck to you.

OH yeah. The nasties of nasties.

I have been privy to another buyer , who, about six months ago, got a leo from Avangel Reptiles. The animal is on deaths door as I type. I had no clue just how bad off he was until she actually posted photos to my group tonight. She has been in contact with him, and I also have PMd him about the buyer. Its been six months tho, So its hard to make any type of case for it, but she will probably be loosing this leo. Theres no way , as far gone as he is now, that he can recover from whatever he has. He looks so bad. I would have recommended her , had I known, to have him put down. I DID, when I saw the pics...Im happy that my skinny is crypto negative, and grateful that they are all seemingly on the mend. Eating, pooping...but this leo she has... wow.

I also have concern for Kaylas lil one. She's having so many issues with her too. I think that the three weeks between my getting mine and her getting hers was what made a difference for my own. She got hers right after Chaz came back from his trip. Shipped hers out shortly after that return. Mine came maybe 3 weeks or so, after, so there was time in between to "treat" them, feed them...or whatever , so they were at least shippable. Healthy? No. Shippable? Yeah.

They should not have had to deal with all of these problems. No one should have. I feel guilty that mine don't seem to be going down that path, and are getting better. I want hers to get better. I want hers to thrive. She's so stressed and so worried about that little one. I just want everything to be OK, ya know?

A bit on the late freight here, but I'm still trying to understand how lighting and camera set up could affect the drastic weight difference in the pictures that were presented by the seller and the buyers' pictures of the geckos received. I know there's a saying that "TV adds 10 lbs", but the same is not true with photographic proof.
Chaz, you keep trying to defend the color difference of the geckos. What about the obvious differences in tail sizes?
