FBI Update

I would like to update you all on my situation. I was urged to call the FBI to report my experience I had with Chaz when I was 16/17. I called today, and here is what happened.

The representative I got ahold of was very nice, very helpful, and very informative. He told me that what Chaz did was called eliciting a minor for sex, and if very much a crime. He also informed me, however, that because Chaz and I are both in the state of California, that it was not a federal crime, and was best handled by local authorities in the county in which the crime occurred.

Now here's the problem, and where my part ends. I'm in Northern California, he's in Southern California. We are far from in the same county, and I don't really know who I'm supposed to report to. While I am completely fine with being a part of this, I am far from fine with being the only part. If I were to file a report with local authorities against him, it would be heard in local courts and I would probably be the only witness. I am also the "victim" with the least evidence, and would stand no chance by myself, especially since it happened over a year ago.

Chaz is lucky that I happen to be experienced with reporting sexual crime, and anyone who has been raped knows how it feels to be raped again by the cops and again by the courts. I will not be reporting the crime to the local authorities, simply because CHAZ IS NOT WORTH ANOTHER SECOND OF MY TIME, let alone months or even years getting raped by the criminal justice system for reporting a crime I don't really care to receive justice for (in my own case).

If you were sexually harassed, elicited or solicited by Chaz and are in another state, I do urge you to report your case to the FBI at 1-800-225-5324. If you are in California, talk to me and maybe we can do something together, but I won't go through this again all alone.

In regards to the animal cruelty charges, please report away. It's a lot easier to prove and they don't usually blame the victims, since animals can't exactly abuse themselves.

And since we all know Chaz will be reading this, I'm not choosing not to report because I'm scared of you, or because I feel bad for you, it's because I will not be a victim for another second in my life. I need to spend the time and money I have helping to take care of the people and animals you hurt, not to heal my nonexistent wounds.

That may sound like something a victim would say, so I'm just going to add that I cheated on you with two different guys, and I'm marrying one of them. You never had any power over me, I never really loved you, and I just hope the girls who are affraid can see you for the weenie you truly are.

This really bothers me. I don't want to detract from this thread, but it sounds like you really need to get a grasp on your life. And probably not post things like this in public forums.

Voluntarily engaging in sexual activities with someone is not rape just because you get mad at them later. Especially when you say he was your boyfriend and that you cheated on him with other guys, all while you were underage. You really need to understand that it's not possible to delete or edit posts here, and these things you are saying will not disappear.

Hopefully the next guy that you try to charge with rape because he breaks up with you will find this thread so that you go to jail instead of him. Makes me sick to my stomach.

I'm not saying that him having sex with minors is ok, or preying on women that buy things from him is ok, but wow.

Darien, this is a business forum and posts are permanent. You say you want to be taken seriously and have a good reputation as a leopard gecko breeder, but how can potential buyers trust someone who seems extremely proud to be dishonest to her romantic partners? Sure, Chaz is undeniably a bad guy, but did you expect a round of applause when you announced that you cheated on him with two guys? Integrity is one solid thing and if you can't show it in one area, it's hard to prove it in another. You have showed poor judgment as to what to post, more than one time (Reptiles by Mack?). A serial "rape victim" stands out to me as being somewhat concerning. Either she's somehow attracted to rapists or she is making a habit of reporting anyone who wrongs her as having raped her. She clearly stated that she is very familiar with reporting people for rape...which again, is not normal.

Her choices and actions are a bit beside the point. Yes, perhaps she is drawn to that type of person but that does NOT make anything he did okay. What is happening on this thread right now is what is known as "victim blaming".

Doesn't matter what her situation in life has been. The fact of the matter is that she was 17 (which is reportedly below the age of consent in CA) and he was 27. That is a 10 year age difference and even if she wasn't a legal minor, her age and their age difference counts this as statutory rape if they had sexual contact. I don't believe they ever did, so in her case it would be something more along the lines of solicitation of pornographic material from a minor I believe.

I am thoroughly appalled that this thread has gotten to the point of questioning someone in this way. Victim blaming is never okay. NEVER.

Did she say a few things in that post maybe she should have left out? Yeah, for her benefit. But to accuse her of making accusations because she is mad at him, that is so, so, so wrong. Claiming she makes a habit of accusing people is just as wrong to say. There are people who because of events or people in their life growing up that are out of their control who are attracted to people that they shouldn't be. But even if that is the case here, that doesnt mean she is in the wrong. The one in the wrong is still the man who broke the law with her.

There are women who are actually raped, and then there are women that get mad at their ex and say they were raped. These women end up making everyone question it every single time someone says they were raped. It's absolutely disgusting.

No, nothing he did was ok. But her saying she has PTSD because she dated some guy and got her heart broken and then threatening him with rape charges is beyond ridiculous.

You don't think it's odd that she has experience with reporting people for rape? You don't think that that's highly suspicious? And the fact that she's talking about how she cheated on him and never loved him and all of that doesn't make her sound a little bit like a girl who got her heart broken and can't get over it? I am not victim blaming, I am standing up for women who actually ARE raped and actually ARE victims, so that they are taken seriously when they make REAL claims of rape.

Okay, clearly you are not educated about the truth of rape. Most illegal sexual conduct such as rape and molestation are NOT committed by strangers. Violent stranger rape is EXTREMELY rare. THE MAJORITY OF RAPE CASES ARE COMMITTED BY SOMEONE CLOSE TO THE VICTIM, SUCH AS A FAMILY MEMBER, FRIEND, OR BOYFRIEND. PLEASE go do some research on rape cases before you comment again on this subject matter and make baseless claims about a victim of inappropriate sexual behavior.

This is NOT me saying that people do not falsely accuse people of rape. I know it happens. But it is not something that happens commonly. Nor do I think rape is a game. I'm pretty sure Darien doesn't either. You have no right to judge her based on your baseless assumptions of her life and her choices. Yeah, sounds like she's made some poor choices. That doesn't mean she is lying about this situation in any way, shape, or form.

No rape allegation should be taken lightly either true or false. Regardless if someone "fakes" rape they cant fake a felony charge for false accusation from it. This is rape culture in it's finest hour on a BOI. Sure she made a really terrible comment that might back fire, but that doesn't mean be judge jury and executioner to information you aren't privy too. I suggest we get back on the topic at hand and leave the rape culture, and victim shaming there.

Don't think that there aren't a lot of people out there like him, a lot. Hurting multiple people at a time, just like him. Is it really that surprising that there are so many victims, sometimes who experience horrible things multiple times? The fact that Chaz preys on women by using manipulative tactics, works their issues of guilt and self-esteem, wears them down over time, and is a potential rapist, is very gross and familiar to many. How many of us have encountered just that kind of person? Over and over again? I'm so glad this guy is being called out, this needs to happen more often, and I thank god the receipts are here, posted for all to see, because most of these kind of people are still out there hurting people. Lurking in every community.

It's gross to imply that these young women are somehow at fault for falling prey to his behavior, as if they are "attracted to" his type. Yeah right. He's a predator. He sets it up to lure people in. It's just as gross to imply that people who bought geckos from him are at fault for their being sick. He posts pretty pictures. He freaking gleaned their phone numbers from purchases they made.

Some people will never have to face sexual assault, sexual harassment, or any kind of unwanted sexual behavior. But many, many people face it multiple times in their lives. It's extremely common, just look at the statistics. The odds are stacked against them. They're not asking for it.

Do you know why people are familiar with pressing charges for sexual assault? *Because people sexual assault people.* That is the only reason why.

Regardless of others' value judgements on a person's relationship choices (moving on to cheating, a completely separate issue), it has no bearing on the legality of the actions of Chaz whatsoever.

We are looking at the specific charge of solicitation of a minor, regarding Chaz, and regardless of ANYTHING ELSE, that still remains as clear cut as ever.

The only rape she's claiming is statutory, meaning in a strictly legal sense. I could date a girl for 5 years and still go to prison for statutory rape of a cop found out, even if she was 100% consensual. Statutory rape is not something that causes PTSD, I'm sorry.

SHE NEVER SAID HE LITERALLY RAPED HER. All she said was that she was 17 and he was 28 so that it was statutory rape. THAT'S IT. Read it again and then talk to me about victim blaming.
