In short, DON'T! Email notices are to ONLY alert you of a reply to your private message or your ad on this site. Replying to the email just wastes your time as it goes NOWHERE, and probably pisses off the person you thought you replied to when they think you just ignored them. So instead of complaining to me about your messages not being replied to from this site via email, please READ that email notice that plainly states what you need to do in order to reply to who you are trying to converse with.

Yeah, I know. They are a pain in the butt. But they pay the bills to keep my server running. Just a fact of life, I am afraid.

Want to get rid of them? Simple. Just become a Contributor level member or above and they will be gone. -> Please click HERE."

Is that too much for me to ask of you to keep this site running? Well, sorry about that. I too wish I could get everything for free. But alas.....

    =====================

Google Adsense ad revenue for December, 2025 was just $30 over the cost of the lease for the server running this site. So, in effect, the money providing the incentive for me to continue running this site is coming SOLELY from the paid memberships and sponsorships here. Which honestly ain't much....

Bad Guy Avoid Steven Patterson (Apex Reptile Center) at all costs!

Of course you don't care anymore. Nothing in his ad states what you said it states. Now you're saying you don't care and you don't have to respond...No, you don't. That's obvious.

You're still playing the he-said/she-said game by not posting all of your text messages, and any other messages that you two exchanged.

I still think something happened when YOU got the animal, as his picture of the animal in the deli cup does not show a kink, but AFTER you decide to take the animal out of the deli cup (several hours after you got it, according to your own words) that's when it had a kink.

And yes, you could flip the animals if you wanted to, and that'd be a great way to start out in the hobby. Considering that you said you're extremely new to geckos. So yes, if you wanted to flip them because he has a tail kink, then you certainly could.

And you're still avoiding the question of if the geckos are eating. Goodness knows why, but it is what it is.

Mistyck if you look at the darn pictures. It says that HIS picture was taken on FEBRUARY 10th! MY picture was taken on February 12th the day he DELIVERED. You still keep thinking that his picture was taken the day he delivered it WASN'T. Get it?

No he's not eating, pardon me for not answering the question.

I said I COULD did I say I WOULD? No. I am keeping them and going to see how these guys turn out and I will be breeding them when they get to breeding weight.

I have decided to pardon you, but am now disinclined to believe the answer since it took this much asking.

Wow okay lol. Sorry I was worrying about answering other people's questions. This is done and over with. I will not be replying to this anymore. I'm keeping the animals and going to see what happens with the male.

And I thought you were "Done" with this thread?

I never said you WOULD flip them. I also said that you COULD. And you didn't just not answer that question, you avoided answering it.

And I am still more inclined to not believe that the kink was there when you got it, as you still waited hours to remove it from the cup and inspect it. In your own words, you never inspected it until you got home after errands and after you ate dinner. So you do "GET IT" when your credibility is crap because you didn't bother checking the animal out when you got it and instead let the thing sit in a damn deli cup while you apparently had more important things to do?

So yes, it is possible that the seller accidentally kinked the tail in a hurry to get them to you, but it's just as plausible that it happened while in your hands in those 2 hours of errands, and then when you were eating that meal. Either way...According to you apparently have no need to respond anymore, it's over and done, and you'd delete it if you could...

Yep...I'm pretty sure I'd want it deleted if I were you too...But probably for different reasons.

Radiant Dragons,
No They just sat on the back seat of my aunts car. Yes running those errands were VERY important. I have a very sick grandma who lives with us and we needed to get those things for her or else she would become violent. She has Alzheimers and Dementia, she gets violent if we tell her no or if we don't do anything she wants us to do. So yes it was very important. Just to clear it up, he was coming to my house and since he was already by the drug store we had to go to, I told him to stay there so he didn't have to go all the way to my house. I didn't plan on leaving but again my sick grandma asked us to get her some things from the store and there is no saying no or wait to her, sorry I didn't want to have to deal with her violent outbreaks. It's scary and I get major anxiety from it so the geckos had to stay in the car. I didn't avoid the question for the last friggen time, I just forgot to answer it with answering other people's questions.

So whatever side with Apex, I posted this being pissed off at him for being rude to me and having a lot of people on FB telling me to post it on BOI. Apparently I wasn't in the wrong to a lot of other people.

I'm sure you do not do whatever someone with dementia tells you to do, that is not rational, good management, or helpful to the ill person. Sounds like a made up excuse, although you may in fact have an elderly or ill grandma, you can't fob off your lack of care for this critter on her. Are you thinking up a good one for why the critter stayed cooped up while you ate dinner?

Sorry, I'm not buying what you are trying to sell.

So you were handed off two new geckos quick like and have only seen them online as pictures and didn't attempt to check them out as anxious as I would be to get new animals I would've taken a peek. So you are saying you never took a peek at them and could of possibly shut the lid with the crested tail lodged in

I'm not particularly convinced you are, either. It's simply one of those situations where there wasn't nearly enough documentation for those on the outside to ever know the whole truth. Check your PMs and consider what I said. Try to take this whole thing in stride, as a lesson learned. Getting pissy and defensive doesn't really endear you to those reading this thread. Do better next time.
Name them.
Really? Someone once told me that I should poop when I have a tummy ache. Do I have to name them? Her statement has no bearing on the actual situation. If you're trying to play the anonymous-third-party-quote card, I think you're reaching. Just like you're doing here:

If sitting in a temperature-controlled vehicle for a few hours amounts to "lack of care," I expect to see you berating anyone who ever ships any animals. By your logic, being put in a box and subjected to all the rough handling of any given shipping carrier, is the absolute epitome of abuse! All these rat-bastards must be stopped!

Because I was hungry????

Really? You think I would make that up??? Why is this even going this far??? what business is it of yours to tell me what I am to do? My aunt was over and she asked my aunt to get her some things from the store and she asked me to go with her.

Im not even going to argue with you. So ignorant.

Because I was hungry????

.

The gecko was probably hungry as well. And I do not think that leaving a critter in a cup for hours and not checking on it (and allegedly finding, when you DID finally check, that it was injured) is being a good owner.

Oh hush, no one is perfect. I checked them every time we went back into the car just not all in detail. I didn't want them to fly out of the deli cup and get lost in the car somewhere or worse. All my animals are in good health.

Oh but you're perfect, I forgot.

I have a couple questions and I apologize if I'm off topic in any way. Aside from a cosmetic issue, a tail kink in a crested gecko poses no health or other concerns that would inhibit breeding right? This is a species that will drop its tail, and I've never seen a tailless crested gecko "lose its value" due to that. I have several "imperfect" geckos and the breed just fine, making gorgeous hatchlings. I was only curious as to why press the issue of a tail kink aside from simple aesthetics...

Again I apologize if I'm off topic and if I am coming across as naive.

My point being...unfortunate kink or not, the gecko looks great, won't suffer major health issues from a kink, and will breed just fine.

Am I wrong in assuming this?

I was simply mad because he didn't tell me he had a kink. Though he didn't have it in the picture he took TWO days before he delivered them to me. The male could have got it caught or jammed in something in his cage but I would think that even if I had smashed his tail in his deli cup which I didn't or if he damaged it in his cage, it would have dropped? They drop their tails for anything right? I don't mind dropped tails, frog booties are adorable.

I was only curious as to why press the issue of a tail kink aside from simple aesthetics...
I don't tend to see aesthetics as being particularly unimportant. At the very least, it's a matter of principle. Paying for one thing and receiving another shouldn't be acceptable. Assuming that that's what happened here.
