In short, DON'T! Email notices are to ONLY alert you of a reply to your private message or your ad on this site. Replying to the email just wastes your time as it goes NOWHERE, and probably pisses off the person you thought you replied to when they think you just ignored them. So instead of complaining to me about your messages not being replied to from this site via email, please READ that email notice that plainly states what you need to do in order to reply to who you are trying to converse with.

Yeah, I know. They are a pain in the butt. But they pay the bills to keep my server running. Just a fact of life, I am afraid.

Want to get rid of them? Simple. Just become a Contributor level member or above and they will be gone. -> Please click HERE."

Is that too much for me to ask of you to keep this site running? Well, sorry about that. I too wish I could get everything for free. But alas.....

    =====================

Google Adsense ad revenue for December, 2025 was just $30 over the cost of the lease for the server running this site. So, in effect, the money providing the incentive for me to continue running this site is coming SOLELY from the paid memberships and sponsorships here. Which honestly ain't much....

Bad Dragon Dealer, Colby Laidlaw

Amber says:
We aren't TRYING to place the blame on Rachel. We ADMIT that she may have been sick- but for goodness sakes- we didnt KNOW that she had internal parasites- otherwise we'd have taken them in.

Yet Colby says:
What you have proven to me- is not only that you are a poor pet owner, but
you are a poor person as well
.
You didnt even wait until this issue got
resolved - before you went to every website you knew to slap across a
bulletin board of slanderous remarks about me.  YES slanderous!  You have made me out to be an animal abuser, christ, you honestly DO NOT know me.
I've had more then 40 animals in my home at one time before- scorpians,
tarantulas, dragons, tegu's, moniters, snakes, iguanas, pot bellied pigs,
degu's, rodents, rabbits, possums, pretty much anything with four legs or
less.  I am VERY knowledgable about pets- as I've HAD several animals in my care.  THIS dragon was NOT in that condition when she left here- As I stated before- I gave her all the best care and if I'd had ANY suspicion that shewas unhealthy in the LEAST bit I would have taken her to my vet immediately.
THis is NOT a case of neglect- and good luck trying to fool people into
that.  THis is a case where a dragon is SICK and NOT to the owners expense-as the pictures III have are from BEFORE she was sent- and anyone can see that she was NOT in that condition when she left.  So yes, it comes back to
you my friend.  In YOUR care- her health depleted
.

It certainly sounds like Colby is blaming Rachel.

At least you, Amber, appear to be somewhat sensible......I certainly hope you can all come to some sort of agreement.

In response to all these questions and comments: Can you people not read? Case closed. Let it lye. Cat_72- if you can read- you should be able to see that whilst apologizing we said that we may have said things that anger'd you- upon being attacked by everyone and their brother- we got defensive- all in all- we didnt mean to place the blame on her. To CheriS- the majority of the comments/e-mails were signed Colby and Amber. And yes- we didnt think she was as tubby as she should have been- but we didn't think it was due to internal parasites. As far as offering sooner to see the dragon- I do have a job, go to college full time, and am interning. I also have a basset hound and a kitty cat of my own to take care of. I don't have a lot of time. Besides- I am about as uneducated about reptiles as a person can get- I know the basics- but Colby was always the reptile lover, and I leaned more toward the fur balls. I'd be more then happy to take the dragon and attempt to rehabilitate her myself. The last time I saw Izzy- was when I was home last- but Colby sent me many pic.s. As stated before- I'm not a reptile person- that's Colby's department- and yes- he was the one that did the shipping. clarinet45- we're not TRYING to make excuses. We were simply saying that all these people are saying that the pics of her before she left looked sickly to them- and the buyer didnt notice "key elements" such as that- as she says. It was a misunderstanding in that way. We're not backing out- making excuses- we're confronting this head on and trying to make right. I think that answers everybody. Is it unreasonable to ask for this discussion to be dropped? I think everything that needed to be said has been said. By the way- thanks Powederfinger and Dennis Hultman- for at least being able to recognize that we may have done wrong- but we're tryin' to make it right.

With all due respect colby and Amber, case is not closed till you refund the money that is owed to rachel. As far as you feeling like people here have been attacking you, there is a reason for that.... Your behavior. Plain and simple. You acted as if Rachel was to blame, that she ruined the dragon, you even insinuated that her vet didn't know what he/she was talking about. You claimed that you didn't offer a guarantee, not even a satisfaction guarantee. You are the one that brought your reputation (whatever it is) into question, you claim to have reputable big time breeders as your friends, then quote one person as that big time breeder. Simple fact is, if you didn't send a sick dragon none of this would be here, so don't go getting mad at everyone on here for exposing something like this. It was ultimately your actions that brought this upon yourselves.

As far as I am concerned this matter is mostly settled pending Mr. Laidlaw's return of my money. I did not ask for the vet bills as I am now assuming the responsibility of care with my purchase, however because she is in bad shape and will end up costing me more money I simply asked for the return of the original purchase price. I don't want anyone to be screwed more than neccesary with this dragon deal gone so horribly wrong. Mr. Laidlaw indicated in his email that he will be refunding me the purchase price when he can however I would like to add one little stipulation on to that. I don't want "when I can" to turn into 3 years so I am asking that he return the money to me within 30 days from this date. I realize that Mr. Laidlaw is not made of money, nor is anyone, but surely 30 days is more than enough time for someone to return money that has been already paid to them.

I thank everyone who stood by and assisted Mirage in this matter. This wasn't done for personal gain and I hope everyone here accepts that. This was done for Mirage so that she can hopefully bounce back and become a healthy happy dragon that can run around and play the way a dragon should.

If you wish to know how she is doing you can always email me at [email protected] and I will give you the updates of her recovery.

Just talked to Tom Snyder- and I really appreciate being able to talk to someone person to person- and get their opinion. Like he said- it's all about makin' things right from here on. This deal was screwed up from the start- and all we're trying to do now is fix what we created. We apologize- and we just want to clear the slate here. We learned our lesson well. The refund's getting sent out Monday morning- second day air mail. Hopefully she replies on here- so people can see- and we can fix this thing. Again, thanks Tom- I really do appreciate being able to talk to someone thats knowledgable about reptiles- and has been in a bind before- and knows the best thing to do.

.....

Well done to all involved, I love a happy ending, hope the dragon pulls through....

Rachel, please let us all know how the dragon does for you. With the proper care, she should hopefully make a fine recovery. :)

I just wanted to post somee advice for Colby and Amber. I would suggest having your animals checked by a vet for parasites as they most likely have been exposed as well. Doing so will only help you avoid another instance such as this one and will ensure the health of your dragons.

Just wanted to let everyone know I spoke to amber in length on saturday night. I feel they will do the right thing here, also I would have to say these guys are right, probably time to take some fecals to the vet to check your collection...hope everything works out for both parties involved.
