Before the refund was sent:
So, averaging from multiple ads currently on kingsnake:
Banana male--$1200
Puma male-- $2300
(Already at $3500)
Adult normal females--3 @ $150 = $450
or
Female yellowbellies--3 @ $195 = $585
Total: $3950 (if normals) or $4085 (if yellowbellies)
So he's already being promised around $1000 worth of snakes extra, which is around 33% "interest". Then everyone gets on and there are a ton of posts and he comes back with:
Again, averaging prices off of current kingsnake ads:
Banana male--$1200
Female mojaves--2 @ $200 = $400 (I actually paid more than $200 for mine a couple months ago)
Female yellowbelly--$195
Puma male--$2300
Spark Female--$900
Total: $4995
So now we're up to $2000 extra, which is 66% "interest". I'll loan just about anybody $3000 for a few years if it nets me a two-thirds return.
So then he gets his $3000 back, but it's not enough. He still wants interest. Ok, so Carson offers scaleless rats, which Guy valued at $250 (8% interest...more than the 5.25% federal rate or my car loan, so still not bad) but Guy complains about that and so Carson offers this:
Female yellowbellies--2 @ $195 = $390
Female mojaves--2 @ $200 = $400
1.0 Pewter Vanilla--$800 (used facebook classifieds because I couldn't find any on kingsnake)
Total: $1590 which is 53% interest. As I said before, the only "lender" who's going to charge 53% interest on a loan is a title loan place or a buy-here-pay-here place. So yeah, I think an "interest rate" that's ten times the federal rate is pretty ridiculous, especially considering that Guy was aware that this was going to be a long-term deal and, at least according to Carson and to Guy's *first* statements, he didn't ask for a refund. He continued to ask for snakes that weren't even produced yet.
He's hosing you, Carson. Throw him the pewter vanilla and be done. If you want to give away snakes, you're more than welcome to toss those female yellowbellies in with my guys.
