    Google Adsense ad revenue for December, 2025 was just $30 over the cost of the lease for the server running this site. So, in effect, the money providing the incentive for me to continue running this site is coming SOLELY from the paid memberships and sponsorships here. Which honestly ain't much....

I'd like to point out that I started this thread, and if you read the first post, it is pretty neutral, I was just curious, I had only just heard of Ballbids.
My opinion of you and the Ballbids people who posted was formed by the way you handled yourselves here.

Yes Ball Bids is a website where you have to sighn up for the web site and all that stuff and then you pay for a specific amount of bids. Then you simply bid on the reptile that is up for auction.
 
Anyone else noticing that their site seems most likely to freeze up and crash when the snake isn't getting the amount of bids it'd take for them to make a profit on it?

They always claim it's some attack (saying they know who did it), and then add in more security features (like now calling you to verify your identity when you register), and swear it'll never happen again. And then it does. We're at what, four or five times now?

When are the people supporting these guys gonna wise up to what's going on? They get their bids back sure, but the site goes on to freeze up again next time the money's not good enough.

I've never even heard of anyone being attacked so often so conveniently. If it's happening that often, which it isn't, we all know that, then there must be something seriously wrong, which we all know there is.

Have you guys considered going into comedy? If not, you should, because you sure are making a lot of people laugh.

Dennis, their modus operandi is to call foul and expect us to take their word about everything - their legitimacy as a company, their allegations against Wes, a copy of their business license - the list is long and extensive. They don't know how to post REAL proof of anything. They do know how to create a web page filled with nonsensical, paranoid filled, boogie man out to get them jibber jabber.

Perhaps one day they'll take accountability and realize that they are the cause and effect of the failure of this idea of Ball Bids by their actions - blocking anyone who has legitimate questions that could have been squashed in the beginning with posting the documents requested.

It's quite amusing to visit their Say Yes page from time to time and watch Marty and Mark talk to each other with an occasional "Yeah!" from some random person. I've got well over 3000 friends and subscribers on FB, the bulk of them being reptile folks. TWO, just TWO are fans of Say Yes page, and 42 like Ball Bids page. A very small percentage of people - and some of those I know now disavow Ball Bids, but haven't gone over there to remove their like.

Mark and Marty seem to think if they type it (whatever fairy tale they are fabricating on any given day), it makes it true, and the rest of us are too dumb to see their truth.

Gee ya reckon they might need to hire ANOTHER new programmer? I've noticed Avi has completely disappeared. But if Marty can't fix the problem then it makes you wonder about his abilities too. And that's only the 4 or 5 times it's happened and enough have seen it that they can't deny it happened or it was your internet connection. Of course most of those get deleted before they can be widely seen.
 
USARK has done a 180. The phrase "Neither do we condemn individual businesses or business models that engage in these activities responsibly." What about ballbids has been responsible?!?

Their stance back in December, and now. Who else is kinda disgusted?

I feel like he googles ballbids.com threads just to dig them up. he keeps digging up old threads on iHerp and trying to defend this sad excuse of a website. But by the way he writes his posts he makes it seem as if he IS the one running ballbids. But he claims to be just a guy defending the site? or am I missing something? I only know because I get the email notifications. There is a reason we told him to beat it on iHerp...

'Lonewolfrider', AKA Mark Byers, appears to be the father of Zack Byers the president of Ballbids.
 
I wonder why anyone would have financial ties or risk financial information on a site that gets hacked and shut down? cyber security issues on a store site mean stay away.
 
I really don't see why everyone is so angry anyway. They rarely have snakes up for sale, they auction bids and almost nothing else. Any new person looking to breed is told to go for 2-3 trait females and later a 3 trait male and I have not seen anything like that from them.

I can't speak for everyone, I can only speak for myself. Even if only a few snakes are sold, they should have done so in an above board, ethical manner.

Their beginning advertisements showed snakes for only a few dollars, but to me that advertising was fraudulent as those snakes were never actually sold for that amount, and later a representative of the company said that those were 'just examples of what a snake could sell for'.

The have been rude, snarky, and instead of answering to questions have created a ridiculous self serving site that they link to incessantly, that appears to have no proof of any allegations they make.

I do agree that the "possible prices" is false advertising and I have read the board to some extent and I have flagged a few of 'daddies' posts for being a jerk too. I truly think the auction style they chose will disenfranchise users as time passes. I see the site as little threat with the 'blackball' that this trade can bring upon a name I don't see them being capable of keeping the model going. If he buys from breeders they risk their own name and won't be involved for long. If he produces his own he limits what he can sell by what he has and the years of work to produce anything that will garner real attention. It is not like anyone outside of ballbids has posted anything nice about them and in the long run will hamper future business unless they can make nice with the reptile community. Maybe they will make a massive donation to USARK? Just to throw something out there. :D
 
I would guess Ballbids probably has an attorney going around and threatening legal action and it is possible they sent a letter to USARK and asked for a retraction.

Certainly one can see from their responses on this thread that Ballbids is going to extraordinary lengths to create and promote the vision of their company that they want the public to see.
