i too purchased a snake from him in april that also arrived in the same fashion and personally i saw nothing wrong with it. the snake was big enough to fit snug in the box hence no need for packing material. the box was small but as snake people know snakes feel secure in small tight spaces , hence the snake was not stressed .as for the envolope being air tight? are you people kiding? do you really think those things are air tight? yeah ok sure .
So if the snake is big enough to fit snuggly into the box...Well, that would be some funny shaped reptiles or truly squshed into the box to take on that shape...
Also, even "if" the snake was snug, there is ONLY about a half an inch or less of styrofoam between the snake and the outside...i'm sure anyone can imagine how those boxes are thrown around, and that IS NOT enough padding, PERIOD.
Yes, the snake should be SNUGG, thats why you add PADDING around it, as well as styrofoam lining inside the box.
Every animal I have ever gotten, (admittably not many) has been shipped in that fashion, even lower priced ones.
As to those envelopes being airtight, yes, they almost ARE, "no kidding", they are of a very strong, waterproof, rip-proof nylon. The whole purpose of them is to protect the contents inside from the outside.
They wouldn't be 100% airproof, obviously, however let me ask you this....
What would you prefer? Traveling out and about (going from warmer to cooler to warmer temps, as being moved about from buildings to vehicles and so on...) stuck in material that "breathes" and has ready air-exchange, or in a very strong, sealed nylon-bag????
Try it out, just put a normal shopping bag (far weaker and more air intake then the shipping bag) over your head fairly tight and walk about outside for a bit. Lets see how you feel in even slightly warm temps...trouble breathing? uncomfortable?
Who would have thought.
I'm not saying Brendan is one of the bad guys, far from it.
However this shipping method STINKS!!!!
And least he could do to show his character is to admit it and not to do it anymore.
But to each their own.
