Beware Chameleon Counters

Chameleon Counters has started posting venomous, and in one of there recent ads they posted a picture with a guy starting directly at a black and white spitter with no eye protection on. Since the herp community has been under fire in every aspect I email them (i thought respectfully) and asked them to remove the picture.

Here is the response I got. Really makes me want to do business with them. Companies like these are the ones that have accidents and make non herp people think we are a bunch as wahoo's and need to be stopped.

That's the way they respond, well when they can figure out how the computer works. I was interested in an animal he had posted on KS a while back sent him a few messages and never heard back from him. So I sent him one where I said hey if you want to sell it you need to reply to people. He came back with the same kind of BS as seen in his emails above. Just added them to my never do business with list. Funny thing is he's still trying to sell that animal.
If that's how they act before they sell you an animal don't even want to know how poor it would get after they got your money, especially if there were any problems.Randy

Probably Keith thinks that his third big ball will protect the crew. Wonder how big they will be 1/2 second after someone is envemonated?

Its sad that if you look at the boards 2 years ago he had a good name, but now is flaming anyone that questions anything near him.

One single captive incident with herps does more to hurt our industry then 50 incidents with wild herps. I guess keith doesn't care that in some small way he is a poster child for all the soccar moms who want our reptiles taken away.

I live in Killeen, about 9 miles away from Keith's shop in Copperas Cove. I haven't bought any reptiles from him (yet), but I have gone in to get feeders, appetite stimulant, and have animals probed (before he offered me a great deal on my own set). He has always been very kind, up front, honest, and willing to have a good chat about herps. He knows his animals and I've seen first hand how well he cares for them. I wouldn't hesitate to buy from him...and hell, I honestly have wanted to work there since I first moved down here. His hots are kept at his home and in the very back of the building behind a staffed, locking door...far away from the non-venomous snakes, spiders, and lizards he sells to the general public.

Yes, Keith has quite the colorful choice of words on his site and in how he communicates...but he's a very political guy and his views/exuberance spill over into just about everything he does. Even his sign above his store spouts random sayings and bashes local political personnel. There have been stories about his sign and views on the nightly news as well as the local newspaper. Just 2 days ago his sign said, "Keith farts hemotoxin - rent him for $20 a day"...he's just a funny guy, and for those that haven't met him in person it may be hard to read/understand his personality via e-mail.

I think you need as much help as he does, for even standing up for him!! All I did was make a statement about his add, and he talks trash about me, I never met or even talked to ben cole.....
Probably the best think that could happen to him is being bitten by one of his hots......like someone else has stated God does have a sense of humor
