In short, DON'T! Email notices are to ONLY alert you of a reply to your private message or your ad on this site. Replying to the email just wastes your time as it goes NOWHERE, and probably pisses off the person you thought you replied to when they think you just ignored them. So instead of complaining to me about your messages not being replied to from this site via email, please READ that email notice that plainly states what you need to do in order to reply to who you are trying to converse with.

Yeah, I know. They are a pain in the butt. But they pay the bills to keep my server running. Just a fact of life, I am afraid.

Is that too much for me to ask of you to keep this site running? Well, sorry about that. I too wish I could get everything for free. But alas.....

    =====================

Google Adsense ad revenue for December, 2025 was just $30 over the cost of the lease for the server running this site. So, in effect, the money providing the incentive for me to continue running this site is coming SOLELY from the paid memberships and sponsorships here. Which honestly ain't much....

Beware Kelly Sharp

I've never purchased from Kelly but I have sold her many animals in the past. Anyone that has been in this biz and shipped the volume of animals I have knows that sooner or later the "order from hell" finds you and really works you over. One of Kelly's WAS that order... Everything went wrong from delays in shipping because of weather conditions to lost packages to some animals arriving DOA as a result to a civil war breaking out in Madagascar. Not her fault, not my fault, just Murphy's law...

We were dealing with Uroplatus henkeli and fimbriatus just as the Madagascar ban went into effect and these animals just weren't available for the longest time. Kelly declined the offer of a refund and chose to wait it out, with a very kind and understanding attitude and very pleasant email exchanges. We stayed in touch over the course of FIVE months, and not once did she get upset or demand anything. In fact, she purchased additional animals from me during that time and PAID for them, one of which was injured during the shipping and had to be replaced. I mean it when I say this was the order from hell! Her character is TOP NOTCH, no doubt about it.

Everyone has moved and everyone has lost something as a result. My last move was a year ago and I still have 2 boxes of business related material that I haven't got a clue where they are. I put them in the moving truck but God only knows what became of them. My point is this, moving is a pain and 3 weeks to locate something that's been missing is not unheard of OR surprising. Kelly did eventually find the receipt and provided the document you asked for, so she met her end of the deal, just not as fast as you would have liked. Every animal I've purchased came with a similar type of receipt, so I'm not sure what more you expect from her. Asking for $200 back until the female proves out is not even close to being realistic, even with your offer of sending a snake with the money in the future. What if there are complications or some other health problem that arises and the female dies? There are too many unknowns when dealing with animals for anyone to even bother responding to that type of request. I wouldn't have answered your email either under those circumstances because I probably would have said something that shouldn't be said.

Kelly advertised and sold a snake she purchased as 100% het albino and provided the documentation from the breeder that you requested. The way I see it, she lived up to her word and that should be the end of it. If the female doesn't prove out, Kelly got ripped off too and that makes her a victim as well, not a scammer.

I'm sorry you feel the way you do but I do see one course of action you could take. Post the female for sell for $100 and request the buyer sends you a $200 balance and a baby when she proves out. After all, if you expected her to do it you shouldn't have a problem with that arrangement.

I, for one, would not let this thread keep me from buying anything from Kelly. She's the type of person we should all be so lucky to do buisness with.

Ronnie, she had not found the reciept when she was selling me this snake but, if you read the entire thread you will see where she said she was contacting the breeder to get me paper work which would be provided with the snake when it was shipped.

I also asked her to simply refund my original 300.00 purchase price and that I would pay shipping to have the snake returned at the same time I made the other offer.

Personally, I liked kelly, she was quick and smart and raised no glaring red flags throughout our deal. Until I wanted to know who had bred this animal.

As to the documentation she provided, it is not acceptable. I can't make out the name on it. There is NO contact information. Substandard documentation......substandard genetics is the conclusion I have drawn.

Explain to me why this person of "TOP NOTCH" character cannot provide me with the linage of this snake? I really don't want to breed her back to a sibling, there is evidence of what that will bring all over ks right now, albinos with missing or oversized eyes and who knows what else.

The ONLY problem I had with this entire deal was the lack of genetic confirmation. I didn't mind waiting because I thought I was getting verification from a "big breeder" and would know whose line this snake was from.

So, I tried to be a nice guy and offer her two options. She has declined both. Oh well.

There is also the small but seemingly overlooked fact that she lied to me. A small lie, but, none the less a lie, which again brings the validity of this snakes origins to question. If you will tell one lie about where you are or why you are there what's so hard about believing you would lie about a snakes genitics?

Do all the business with her you want. After all it's a lot safer to take someones money and trust what they say they've done than it is to give them your money and trust what they have said they WILL do.

I think Kelly should just confirm who the breeder was that produced your het, and provide you with contact information on him. Pretty simple unless perhaps she does not have the contact info. Maybe she could tell you what show it was and the location of the show so that you could try contacting the promotor of the show, he may have a phone number or an email address of that vendor. Just a thought.

I have never seen a receipt from a breeder with just a name and NO contact info unless it was someone who was a "household" name such as Bob Clark, Sorry.....but I have never heard of Mark Wallace or Mike Wallace or whoever he is.

If this female doesnt prove out, and in fact Kelly did get scammed, its still 100% her responsibilty as she's the one who guaranteed the genetics of this animal. SHE SOLD it to Wes,the guy she purchased it from didnt sell it to him......ultimately who's the real victim ? Kelly ? or Wes ? Kelly's got Wes' money !

Lets say I sold you a Het for whatever animal, I tell you that I purchased it as being such......and it does not prove out !

Who should I take recourse on ? you or the breeder ?

The way it looks to me, it would be MUCH more beneficial for Kelly to provide what Wes is asking....Name and Contact info for the "breeder" of this animal.

All he wants to do is verify with the breeder that this animal was sold to Kelly with such genetics. If this animal does not prove out after Wes talks to this "breeder", then I would be more apt to sympathize with Wes AND Kelly as they both got ripped off, but with Kelly not wanting to provide the info of the breeder whom she purchased it from......I personally would be more apt at believing that she SOLD Wes a everyday NORMAL animal.

In my experience, only people who have something to hide will not provide a buyer with such info. Its almost a standard to provide this info prior to the sale. This way your prospective buyer can see for him or herself and verify with the "breeder" that this seller indeed does have that animal on hand.

Even if then this animal doesnt prove out after speaking with the breeder......its still 100% the sellers responsibilty to make it right !

Its not that hard, Name and Number please, provide it or buy the animal back.

KelliH

kelly sharp has on least two occasions written that she would be in contact with the breeder, once by unspecified means and once by email. Unless that was NOT the truth, she has the means and ability to reach this person.

I don't think I'm being unreasonable in my request for such information. If I had it that would satisfy me for now. If it turned out that there was no verification on this snakes hetero status, then I would want a full, heck even the 200.00, refund and I would still send her a het at no charge when I breed her.

If she got took and didn't know it, then it's no big deal, but if she got took and knew it and then passed it on to me, that would be VERY uncool. Her continued unwillingness to give me the breeders contact info is not looking good.

KelliH,

I did ask her several times in the many emails we had go back and forth for the name and date of the show she got the snake at. That was never provided either. I even told her I wanted to have the show info so I could try to get a vendors list. I'm sure I have an email or three with that in it if you'd like to see it. I tried to cover all bases here.

I would have addressed this sooner but, I just noticed that you mentioned it.

Wes Pollock

Wes-

I don't need to see it, I believe you. It just occured to me about the show, so I posted. There is no reason she cannot give you the name of the show she purchased it at. Lame.

I know this thread is old but...

I just came upon it after looking at the profile for Kelly's "partner" due to his response to another thread within the last couple days.

Was there any resolution here?

Anything?

At all?

Seamus, sort of is the best I can say about resolution. She never provided any contact info, not even the name of the guy who bred the snake. She did send me an invoice which is pictured in this thread. Totally inadequate and not what she said it would be.

I won't know about this snakes actual genetics until I breed her. Hopefully next year. All in all though a very unsatisfactory outcome.

Wes Pollock

So we never found out who actually bred...

the snake? I just cannot understand the logic in not posting the breeder on here unless something is wrong. If I sold a het to someone, I would have no problem with them posting my name, and giving my contact info out to someone who then repurchased the animal.

David your reasoning is exactly why I suspect I have a very pretty very nice normal boa that I paid WAY too much for.

But stranger things have happened than this snake maybe turning out to be a real het. Time will tell and when it does so will I.

Wes Pollock

another one?

Wow!

Wes, I cant believe you left it at that. I have
been reading your posts for ages, and you
certainly dont strike me as someone who
takes getting ripped off lightly.

And that is exactly what happened here.
She wont give you the breeders name? That
is preposterous! I dont care how many people
stick up for her; she definitely scammed you here!
Remember, at some point, losers like gubitz,
bowles and albury were all considered to be
good people.

The fake het scheme seems to be the most
common one out there. Now she is pulling an
'underhill?' She sacrificed her reputation for
a mere $200. She is a disgrace.

Sincerely,

Gino 'In Da Bronx' Beniquez

There is just enough doubt in my mind about the genetics of this snake that I'm going to wait til I breed it to decide if I've been ripped off. I did an inquiry on her before I bought the snake and no one responded at all. She was also supposed to send me a copy of the original invoice when she shipped me the snake.

Oh well. Hopefully she'll prove out. If not I'll have some sweet hets.
