In short, DON'T! Email notices are to ONLY alert you of a reply to your private message or your ad on this site. Replying to the email just wastes your time as it goes NOWHERE, and probably pisses off the person you thought you replied to when they think you just ignored them. So instead of complaining to me about your messages not being replied to from this site via email, please READ that email notice that plainly states what you need to do in order to reply to who you are trying to converse with.

Yeah, I know. They are a pain in the butt. But they pay the bills to keep my server running. Just a fact of life, I am afraid.

Want to get rid of them? Simple. Just become a Contributor level member or above and they will be gone. -> Please click HERE."

Is that too much for me to ask of you to keep this site running? Well, sorry about that. I too wish I could get everything for free. But alas.....

    =====================

Google Adsense ad revenue for December, 2025 was just $30 over the cost of the lease for the server running this site. So, in effect, the money providing the incentive for me to continue running this site is coming SOLELY from the paid memberships and sponsorships here. Which honestly ain't much....

Bad Guy BEWARE OF BUYING FROM REPTILEUV.COM!!

As for informing them of this thread, they know full well what their reputation is on the forums. When I was going through resolution a couple of years ago, they even threatened legal action against me if I shared what they sent me in an email on the forums.

The excuses that Bob are using now are the same ones he told me two years ago. New management doesn't mean better management. It looks like the management change they made two years ago didn't do the trick either.

BTW, when after almost a year of attempting to get my money back and they did refund me, l was shorted by a little over $6 (paypal fees). How aggravating is that?

I Got a valid tracking #! Encouraging sign

So I had called and talked to Bob about my complaint yesterday and he promised me a valid tracking # by today and encouragingly I did get a VALID tracking # from USPS picked up at HUBERT, NC 28539. I'll update to let people know if it arrives as 2 working bulbs on Sat Nov 2. Anyone else? He said he had 20-30 sitting on his desk ready to go, so anyone else got a valid tracking update?

Tracking via USPS: 9405509699937015603851

The tracking number I was sent back on 10/22 has now been updated as well to being shipped and going through the USPS sort facility scheduled for a 11/2/13 delivery. Only freakin took 2 months 12 days and a dispute being opened with Paypal to actually get this shipped. Now lets pray it doesn't arrive broken cause I can't even imagine having to deal with a warranty through them.

I am glad both of you have received tracking numbers, and hope both of you receive good bulbs.
However, even if that happens it does not change my opinion that this company has been a disaster for years, has kept people waiting, has, in my opinion deliberately given them excuses to get them past the Paypal deadline, has had a solid record of crappy communication.
I would not spend a dime with them.

In my opinion, if one reads this thread and sends money to them, one should know what to expect based on their record. They've given all manner of excuses and assurances to people for years, it's really, in my opinion, the only thing they are good at.

Oh I agree. When I need to replace Harleys MVB, i'll be using Lightyourreptiles and the Arcadia MVB. I have heard good things about them and Todd and he offers a full kit since the Arcadias are a 220 volt bulb. It has the dome, bulb and a 110-220 volt transformer for $150. Plus ive heard the 220 volt MVB hold up longer to bumps and "abuse" vs the 110 volt ones. Not sure if its true but I have heard all good things about Arcadia bulbs.

My tracking number was updated today as well also to be delivered the 2nd. Cara emailed me this morning and then when I asked What was going on a few times said she couldn't get a hold of Bob then stopped amazing again. I did send Bob a link to this page and a long letter telling him how I feel and what's going on he never answered but Facebook said he read it. After this the first thing I said to my hubby when I saw the tracking info changed was I bet you they will alive broken I'm testing all 4 when I get them I got 2 for now and 2 backups I usually don't test bulbs but I will now! I have little to no faith left in their company!

I'm happy to report that the mail man just delivered my 4 bulbs I'm testing 2 now and will test the other 2 later then if all is good I'll cancel the PayPal claim this afternoon. Hope you guys got yours today too. An apology note in the box would have been nice but it is What it is I'm just happy to finally have them!

It shouldn't take filing a claim to get a COMPANY to send out product that someone has purchased from them. That's the shoddiest customer service I've ever heard of. I don't care if they've had personal issues. That's their problem, not the customer's. If they can't fulfill an order in a timely manner, and get it out in a timely manner, then they shouldn't be letting people have the option of ordering. It's pretty simple; you get money for object, you get object ready, you send object out. PERIOD!

I don't care if you fell down a flight of steps, or got a paper cut on your finger. If I paid for a product, I will expect product in the time stated when I purchased it. If I don't get product in that amount of time, then I will file a claim and expect my money back. I am not going to listen to some malarky about you and your personal issues. They are NOT my problem. My problem is not getting said product in time allotted. Don't expect me to wait around sitting on my thumbs while you decide if you want to get your head out of your butt and fulfill an order. That's not what good customer service is.

And clearly, this company would rather it's customers wait around sitting on their thumbs while they figure out if they even have the bulbs in stock, and how to put off paying back the money, because they probably already spent it. Shoddy!

Got my bulbs!

I also received my bulbs today and called Bob to let him know. Although I do agree that their customer service could have been much better earlier, I personally satisfied to have 2 good bulbs and am willing to forgive the earlier issues. The times that I have called and spoke to Bob DIRECTLY, he came across as nice guy who just got overwhelmed with things.

Obviously there's been accounts of a wide range of experiences with them, ranging from great, to rectified, to bad/still unresolved complaints, I just wanted to share my own experience. I hope that what Bob told me is true and I hope if that's the case, he will continue to try and rectify the situations with others who are still waiting for their bulbs/refunds.

P.S. For now, their 100W bulb does produce a fair more UVB than the ZooMed 100W according to my meter, so as long as they last as advertised, I'll continue to be happy.

Just in response to Julia's note, I agree that an apology note in the box would have been nice, but he did apologize to me over the phone when I spoke to him. And that's probably why I'm willing to forgive them and have a better impression than others here.

I'm curious wugui, how much more UVB did the MegaRay put out over the Powersun. And my bulb is scheduled for delivery today too so hopefully in the next couple hours my postman will get here.

After about 2-3hrs on, the 100W is producing 130-140 uW/cm2 of UVB at 12" (directly under the bulb), and 900uW/cm2 total UVA/UVB.

My 3-4month old PowerSun is now at 20-30uW/cm2 UVB at 12", and 300 overall UVA/B.

I don't remember where the PowerSun started at, but I think NEW it produce higher UVA/UVB total, but less UVB vs. the new MegaRay.

Well I finally got the MegaRay. It works but anyone else notice the heat it puts out is rather low? The 100 watt Powersun was easily hitting 105 degrees at around 14 inches but the 100 watt MegaRay is only hitting around 98.5 degrees at 12 inches.

Yeah, same here. Fortunately I need it for UV more than head and it does give more UVB than PowerSun, but I do agree with your observation.

Bob and I never spoke... I always talked to cara when I contacted them. She stopped answering me so had I not seen that your tracking numbers were working I never would have known it was coming. Had I been in their shoes and did What they did to me to a customer of mine I would have put a personal note in the box as well as something extra to try to make up for What I did and hopefully keep them as a customer. But I guess that's just me I dunno lol. As for the bulbs yes I have definitely noticed the bulbs don't produce as much heat. I'm most likely going to have to use another bulb too to get enough heat.

I noticed there is an ad for MegRay bulbs on Fauna, have the supply/distribution problems been solved?

They were at Daytona, fully stocked. I didn't get a chance to talk to Bob, but they definitely appear to back on the upswing. Good news!

I wonder if everyone caught in the delays either has their order or a refund?
