Bad Guy Beware of canyon county reptiles the sell sick snakes

The snake left us and went to Horseheads, NY - which is about an hour north of us. Then it goes to Memphis - there is a hub there. Every snake we've shipped out always goes through Memphis - even one we sent to Connecticut this summer (we noticed that and thought it odd). After Memphis, it went to Burbank, Ca then on to North Hills, Ca, then to the buyer.

Ok thanks. I wondered b/c I'm also in the mid-Atlantic and have seen packages routed through both Memphis and Chicago over the years. Just something to keep in mind.

At any rate without a full body picture of the sick snake I can't say whether it's the one you shipped the buyer or not. I tried matching based on the ad picture and couldn't see enough of the pattern to definitively say yes or no.

We haven't been able to tell looking at pictures, either. Believe me we tried!

This first one is a full body he sent us. He hasn't been willing to share this with the group, I think.

I agree that the top picture ??? doesn't even look like a black pastel. but more like a yellow belly or Mojave from the bad colors in the picture. it could be just bad lighting ..
the only markings that can be compared are the ones on the side of the head , which are similar .. but can't be 100% sure

I really don't understand people who post threads on the BOI, and then when uncomfortable (to them) questions or observations pop up, all of a sudden they decide that those who are not actually involved should not participate.

This is true. Along with not being able to tell if it is the same snake as the one in the Ad.
IMO The photo, that was sent to you, doesn't even qualify as a full body pic.

Wed, the 30th, buyer claims he spent $75 at the vet, with no mention of weight or sex discrepancy.

I tried helping out just to inform people out there out there and I'm the bad guy wow this was the first and last time I buy from them this forum sucks gave them notice now there not responding no sweet spoke to PayPal and there giving me a refund had to take it to the vet and spend 75 buck PayPal will be refunding me I owned worldwide reptiles been in this since the 1990 in Florida

Thursday, the 1st, he claims to have just gotten back from the vet to "pick up the paperwork". This is his first claim of wrong weight and sex.

Letter (not invoice or report) from vet is dated for the 1st, not the date of alleged visit.

It's pretty clear to me that the buyer is hot-headed and blatantly dishonest. There is no way to verify that the snake examined by the vet was the snake received by the buyer, based on the lack of a clear photo provided by the buyer. At this point, I will take the seller at her word, as she has given me no reason not to.

Jessica, please keep us posted on PayPal's decision, as their past record with the reptile community has been reason for concern. Hopefully, they find in your favor OR the OP provides actual proof of his claims, and the matter can be resolved.

I took the liberty of copying the pics. Only editing that was done was to rotate Jessica's, and enlarge and crop. Nothing else in the way of enhancement was done.

Still cannot say with certainty that they are one and the same Black Pastel.

And yes, a very sorry excuse for a "full body" pic from the buyer.

I wonder if the OP was hoping to scam the seller out of a refund and letting him keep the snake, or to get more snakes. Pretty blatant lack of any proof and poorly organized responses. I think we've that this happen before, where someone thinks threats and bullying will win them something extra.

The seller, on the other hand, seems like a nice person to do business with! That's what's great about the BOI. People dig themselves a hole pretty quick and it's a good indicator who to do business with and who to avoid at all costs.

I do not know much about Mr. St. Pierre except that he is very well known by many people. To me, he is not tainted whatsoever merely because Rick mentioned his name. At this point to me, none of the many boasts sprinkled throughout this thread by Rick are credible.

Jessica I can't exactly remember how but there is an easy way to compile your evidence (your side of the story) and send it to PayPal. Call them and someone can help walk you through this. If he turns out to be just a flat out scammer you need to do your best right now to win the dispute. Afterwards if you feel like he deserves a refund than at that point give it to him. It is crucial that you get in your side of the story like right now. There is only a small window of time they give you. If you don't defend yourself you stand a much better chance of loosing. Good thing that's is in your favor is PayPal will more than likely side with you because it's an animal.
Back in July someone tried to scam me out of all the money in the deal plus all the animals too. So please take me for my word. Call PayPal and ask how to formally respond. A phone call explaining the situation will not do.
I smell a rat. It's funny that this guy won't take and post a simple picture of the animal received. All you have to do is have someone hold down the body while you open his mouth exposing those bubbles. I can see the OP saying in a few days the bubbles are gone since I treated him but here's a body picture.

Win that dispute. Plenty of time afterwards to figure out if he deserves a refund. But my gut is screaming this guy is a scammer.

This is why I said earlier, there's usually only one reason someone refuses to post messages and pictures and gets mad when people question them.

I gave out too much karma in the last 24 hours but Craig's advice is solid. I'd definitely do what you can to make sure you win the dispute. PayPal's system is EXTREMELY biased against the seller but usually they'll drop it with animals because they have no idea what an RI or black pastel is or what you're possibly talking about.

As long as you present your case the way you have here there's no reason they should award in his favor. They're always going to take someone who's calm and composed over someone ranting and raving, unless there's pretty damning evidence. In this case, I don't see it.
