In short, DON'T! Email notices are to ONLY alert you of a reply to your private message or your ad on this site. Replying to the email just wastes your time as it goes NOWHERE, and probably pisses off the person you thought you replied to when they think you just ignored them. So instead of complaining to me about your messages not being replied to from this site via email, please READ that email notice that plainly states what you need to do in order to reply to who you are trying to converse with.

Yeah, I know. They are a pain in the butt. But they pay the bills to keep my server running. Just a fact of life, I am afraid.

Want to get rid of them? Simple. Just become a Contributor level member or above and they will be gone. -> Please click HERE."

Is that too much for me to ask of you to keep this site running? Well, sorry about that. I too wish I could get everything for free. But alas.....

    =====================

Google Adsense ad revenue for December, 2025 was just $30 over the cost of the lease for the server running this site. So, in effect, the money providing the incentive for me to continue running this site is coming SOLELY from the paid memberships and sponsorships here. Which honestly ain't much....

Beware of Jeane Best & Wendy Childs

Again, I had already agreed to send her the money. I was upholding my end of the bargain, nothing more. And, yes, when she asked for more, I gave her a little more because, in all honesty, she hadn't agreed to incure any fines.

But we're done now. That's it, it's all we agreed on... if she wants money for the "male" gecko, she will give me the number of her vet and I will speak to them.

By signing up for and using paypal she agreed to incur the surcharges. That's a plain and simple truth. It's against paypals TOS to ask for the 4% surcharge. When she sent you money for the geckos did she add 4% so you wouldn't have to incur fees?

Lynn,
I applaud you for realizing that your word should rise above. Some "guys" here struggle a bit more with that concept.
Kevin, you are mistaken. You also are not in possession of the PM's between Lynn and I. For future reference Kevin, it is for the seller to request whatever proof they feel is offered, or feel should be offered, from a buyer with a claim. If the seller has questions, the seller should ask them. Is this rocket science? If you are telling me it is my position as neither the seller nor the buyer to make one or the other do such, you are a bit out of touch with the mechanics of a deal. I made recommendations in private to both parties. Some were taken. Some not. I would question your impartiality if it mattered to me Kevin. It does not. BTW, all I took as "fact" about claims that were made is that they were claims. <cough>
Kelli, Lynn acknowledged early on that parasites were reported, but apparently chose not to request further proof, or contact the vet directly herself. Don't know why. I have received copies of emails where coccidia was specifically alleged, and I think that Lynn was aware of the allegation some time ago. But I have no proof that it existed, only that it was alleged.
Again Lynn, I do have to applaud you for finding the high road in the end. While some view it as "wrong" from their angle, I believe it seemed very "right" from your view, and that would be the one that counted with regard to your money. I'll also pop you some karma. Mine has a bit of weight to it. :>poke2<:

They are both scumbags, liars, scammers and thieves. Anything they do at this point should not be a surprise to anyone. Their lack of ethics and character is well documented for all to see. I just hope people are smart enough to do their research before dealing with them.

Well Lynn whats done is done,at least you washed your hands of theses schemers/theifs.To me it would be a small price to pay and then be done with them and not ever look back and let everyone you know they scam people.Heck i told at least 25 about them, and they were not supprized at all. However i would have taken it , a Little farther ,and asked for the Animal back and had my Vet check it over throughly, before any money left my hands. But now you know and I know how they are and it was a learning experience,at least you came out with it
and what is the deal with people taking karma points away.what did i say wrong? It was just my 2 cents worth :)
Things that make me go hmmmmmm

Lynn,

You did what you felt was right, I hope. What any of us think is irrelevant. As long as you felt your actions was the right thing to do and not the easy thing to do then I personally have no problem with your decision. After all, you are the one that has to live with your decisions.

Hey Lynn,

6) While an earlier post where the customer pointed out that your animals were very well packed and arrived in what appeared excellent condition, this does not preclude one from quickly heading south, which is what the customer claimed. I have had animals that I shipped arrive very well, only to then show signs of stress soon afterwards. IMO its immaterial with regard to your guarantee.

Ok

At 4:42 she made this post. If she sent an email to the buyer within 4 hours of receipt, How come she posted this after she sent the email????

All my geckos still living here have been tested and are healthy. I guess this is why I never asked for vet proof---and, in all honesty, she has never offered it, only accusations that her vet has checked them over.

If she tries for more money, I will ask for proof. I will ask for her vet's number and give them a call.

But I made her the promise to refund the money before any of this, and I've always been taught that you do what you say you're going to do. I have done so. I owe her nothing more without proof first.

And, thanks, Jim... although I don't agree with you on all things, you have tried to find all angles of this case. I can't fault you for that.

It's true, Sammy, the right thing is not always the easiest. I think I did right... I'm a little disappointed that I didn't check into everything BEFORE I promised her her money back, but c'est la vie. I do what I say ;)

And thanks for the info about the post and the email, Dennis... I'm still worried she's going to hit me with a chargeback tomorrow---if she feels she can get more money. If so, I'm going to need all the evidence I can get.

Thank you all for your support. I really do appreciate it!

Again,

Lynn, I don’t fault you for the decision you made. It was yours to make. You have been professional throughout. I wouldn’t have made the same choices.

Geez Lynn, you are making way too much sense, and I am not accustomed to seeing it here! I'm serious. My own view, and only my own, is that I would probably have asked for the ability to contact the vet to get more info about the coccidia claim, as it would be important with regard to my remaining animals as well. If it could not be substantiated, or wasn't provided easily, I would have questioned all claims for proof. True, we are not in complete agreement, but I would like to give you credit for not only answering my PM's, but for taking the time to answer them at length. Also, I do not think a chargeback is at all justified, and lobbied against both it and the PayPal claim to the extent that I was able. If one arises, you will just have to take my word that I will convey an opinion out-of-thread to the appropriate parties.

While I am consumed with chameleons, I confess that the crestie's are pretty neat looking, and I may have never given them a second look if not for this thread.

Here's a little crestie love for everyone who's helped me out---and for Jim... may it become another addiction ;)

Question for ya Jim

Hey guys. I having been reading this thread for about 3 days a couple hours a day and have finally reached the end. I haven't posted anything as i have no reason to. My opinion means nothing on this topic. I am posting now because i have a question for Jim F.

Jim I have bought a couple chameleons from you in the past months and hold you in high regards as a breeder and simply as a nice guy. My question is Jim, that in reading all of these post I not gotten what you think of these two "scammers" and all of the problems they keep having. You have been in business much much longer than these two ladies and have had most likely not even a small fraction of the problems they have had in the past couple of months. So I am curious as to what you think about Jeane and Wendy's "problems" in this thread and all the problems they seem to keep having.

Feel free to PM here or you know my email address.

As privatly requested here is the "MALE" who has gained 6 grams since his arrival. No I have not read the posts. No I will not be reading them or replying. The Hemis are VERY much bulging now.
