In short, DON'T! Email notices are to ONLY alert you of a reply to your private message or your ad on this site. Replying to the email just wastes your time as it goes NOWHERE, and probably pisses off the person you thought you replied to when they think you just ignored them. So instead of complaining to me about your messages not being replied to from this site via email, please READ that email notice that plainly states what you need to do in order to reply to who you are trying to converse with.

Yeah, I know. They are a pain in the butt. But they pay the bills to keep my server running. Just a fact of life, I am afraid.

Want to get rid of them? Simple. Just become a Contributor level member or above and they will be gone. -> Please click HERE."

Is that too much for me to ask of you to keep this site running? Well, sorry about that. I too wish I could get everything for free. But alas.....

    =====================

Google Adsense ad revenue for December, 2025 was just $30 over the cost of the lease for the server running this site. So, in effect, the money providing the incentive for me to continue running this site is coming SOLELY from the paid memberships and sponsorships here. Which honestly ain't much....

Bad Guy Beware of Jerry Kruse

Jerry Kruse convicted!

In case you haven't heard the story is all over the AP wire today. Here it is...

WASHINGTON (AP) — A Florida man has admitted his role in the trade of 59 illegally caught wild snakes, including a live rattler mailed to him in a coffee can.

Gerard Kruse of Oviedo, Florida, appeared Friday in a federal courtroom in New York City. The 42-year-old social worker pleaded guilty to seven counts of illegally transporting wildlife and six counts of the illegal receipt of wildlife.

Federal prosecutors say the snakes were collected by Kruse and others from various states, including New Jersey, California and Oregon. It is a crime to ship or receive illegally collected snakes across state lines.

One charge stemmed from a deal where Kruse received a package that included a Western diamondback rattlesnake from Texas sealed in a coffee can. It is also unlawful to mail venomous snakes.

I hesitate to be on Jerry's side because of all the witch hunters here. I knew him when he lived in NY and he is a very kind and giving man who loves his family and animals more than life, in fact, those 2 things give him life. He moved to Florida a few years ago and everyone knows Florida is a herpers paradise.. People who have great big hearts can make stupid mistakes, especially when they are surrounded by an overwhelming array of abundant exotic wildlife.. He obviously messed up and from what I knew of him, his character is making him own up to these mistakes.. I don't know nearly half of of the details, but Jerry is truly a good soul who went astray..Don't hate, try to understand .. Everyone needs a second chance sometimes.. My 2 cents..

yep

wow that karma finally caught up to ole jer, where are all his supporters? poaching yeah he got what he deserved.

I get what you are saying, but if you read the original complaint here, which was all about Stu, Jerry was not upstanding at all in his dealings and what he put poor Stu through was deplorable. I take offense at your term witch hunters, as I myself used to be on a friendly basis with Jerry although we never met personally and I also eventually had a bad experience dealing with him. He also admitted to me illegal things he did. Go back and read his posts where he pretends to be holier than thou and places himself as the victim here. Sorry dude but I'm not buying what your selling.

" People who have great big hearts can make stupid mistakes, especially when they are surrounded by an overwhelming array of abundant exotic wildlife.. "

So that's an excuse to break the law? Give me a break!:NoNo:

I never posted, even though I followed from day one. All I can say is I'm not at all surprised.

Wow, I had heard of a few things Jerry was accused of doing, but had no idea it was to this extent. Jerry can be a nice guy, like us all, but I learned from dealing with him he angers too quickly and takes it too far. I had to learn for my self, he is someone I do not want to be associated with. I hope the right people find out about this and put a stop their illegal activities. Going by one of the locations snakes were shipped to and from (Bishop, CA), I suspect someone else I know of in this hobby was also busted along with Jerry. Thank you for the update, Leah.

LOL.

It is not often that the justice system works the way it should, but for this one time, it certainly seems to have nailed a real lying sack of not very nice stuff. Of course mr. kruise was 99% not very nice stuff from the get go, and there were some who tweaked to that pretty quick, and I thank you DQ, as should everyone else who read the cheap childish immature crap ol jer put Stu through.

I hope you can read this ol buddy, because I am laughing my ass off at you.

Jerry saga

Wow! What saga! I'm just glad I got my money back when I did. If it wasn't for everyone's participation on this BOI I'm sure I wouldn't have gotten a penny back! It just goes to show you how close nit the Herp community really is! You just can't go around burning people and expect to stay in business very long. Jerry sure found that out, the hard way!

I hesitate to be on Jerry's side because of all the witch hunters here.

Everyone needs a second chance sometimes.

Just shown on this thread alone, Jerry screwed up both with Stu and 13 counts.
He's had second chances and then some.
Read through this thread and see the contemptuous answers Jerry gave here. Not just to people who you may or may not see as 'witch hunters' but to Stu, who is by anyone's measure a Really Nice Guy.
Karma has caught up with Jerry and I for one have to confess to a wee bit of schadenfreude .
