In short, DON'T! Email notices are to ONLY alert you of a reply to your private message or your ad on this site. Replying to the email just wastes your time as it goes NOWHERE, and probably pisses off the person you thought you replied to when they think you just ignored them. So instead of complaining to me about your messages not being replied to from this site via email, please READ that email notice that plainly states what you need to do in order to reply to who you are trying to converse with.

Yeah, I know. They are a pain in the butt. But they pay the bills to keep my server running. Just a fact of life, I am afraid.

Want to get rid of them? Simple. Just become a Contributor level member or above and they will be gone. -> Please click HERE."

Is that too much for me to ask of you to keep this site running? Well, sorry about that. I too wish I could get everything for free. But alas.....

    =====================

Google Adsense ad revenue for December, 2025 was just $30 over the cost of the lease for the server running this site. So, in effect, the money providing the incentive for me to continue running this site is coming SOLELY from the paid memberships and sponsorships here. Which honestly ain't much....

Bad Guy Beware of Zach ashwood ( bad news )

And where did I question anything about you as a person?
I believe I questioned what you have done thus far in this situation, and what your plans are for handling it and nothing more.
Wow, that makes me a pretty vicious "basher" now doesn't it?
If you can find a post where I made a statement about you personally that is considered "bashing" then show me, go for it.

If THAT snake is found to be 100% healthy, meaning NO ISSUES WHATSOEVER, I will personally offer you an apology, hands down. Even though I didn't personally attack you. I AM woman enough. I've apologised for mistakes before and I have no problem doing it again if my thinking was wrong regarding this snake.

HOWEVER, I've seen enough dehydrated snakes and reptiles in my 9 year career to know what one looks like.

Let's try to keep the back N forth kiddie bickering to a minimum ... it's getting nowhere, solving nothing and really looks immature, frankly.
This is between Mike F and Zach. I think both Zach and Mike are aware what the opinions of the posters are by now.

Mike will take the snake to the vet tomorrow, he'll post the results and they can go from there.

If there is not an issue with the snake then why should I still be questioned? The point here is that you people "think" I knowingly sold this guy a sick snake which is false. So if the vet clears him then all of you should be ashamed of yourself for bashing me with no reason. I sold him what I believed to be a perfectly healthy snake clean and clear. If the vet does say he just needs to shed or that he's picked up something since being out of my hands how is my "customer service" still in question? I've already said that we will see what the vet says before we decide what will happen. My customer service is this "I sold what I believed to be a 100% healthy snake, knowing it did need to shed" If that's the case the vet says and verifies that...then I upheld my end of the bargain. I will not change my principles for anybody nor will I do something I don't feel is right. Are you going to man up or woman up I guess if this snake is cleared like I believe he will be? Enough said...we'll wait to see what the vet says.

Sometimes it's better to do right than to be right.

That you should have taken the snake back and refunded the money to your customer, is as much if not more, of an issue than whether the snake is ill.

Unfortunately, I do believe you think you sent out a healthy snake. IMO if you noticed he was wrinkled going into the box you should have held off shipping it, certainly when your customer placed his concern you should have worked something definate out involving course of care and including a time frame in which if he was still not satisfied with his purchase he could return the snake for a refund.

So you can stubbornly dig your heals in because you think you're right or you can do the right thing and work on this with your customer. The choice is your. But if you are getting out of the hobby I guess you don't have to worry about how future customers might perceive your actions on this.

What happened to Health Guarantee that im sure 99.9% of all breeders offer with all their snakes. Even i offer a 5 day health guarantee to all my customers NO MATTER WHAT.

You will not get anywhere thinking that one the snake is out of my hands its out of my control. That is POOR service that leads to dead end road on your end.

vet estimate

Hers what is going on today ..I took the snake to the Vet, Dr greco ( a well known herp Vet recomended by a few of the members here ) He said the snake is in very poor health dehydrated and malnurished he weighed the snake he was 72 grams .. A full vet report will follow , after I go pick the snake up .. The vet asked to keep the snake for testing and to work on the stuck shed below is a copy of the vet bil as of today!! and the snake will require a follow up and the vet says It Might live !!! and that in no way possible could the snake have gotten to its present condition in the past 9 days it was in my possesion he is also a seller on kingsnake and is going to file a complaint about Mr ashwood

Mike, when are you going to pick up the snake? Is it sometime today or does it need to be hospitalized? When you pick up the snake, don't forget to get something in writing, like Jessica said. :) I'm glad you took him to the vet and the snake is on the road to recovery.

I stated i will post the full report when I pick the snake up ... the vet said he will be happy to write a detailed report so I can post it when I go back to get the snake and pay the rest of the bill I only left a $100 deposit as of yet I will post a full report as soon as I get it thanks

I forgot to add he kept the snake to hydrate him I dont know its going to be IV or stomach tube thats what the panacur on the bill is

Wow read the WHOLE thing over a few days...and in my opinion..because he (the seller) didn't just take the animal back and incur (possible) shipping fees, he now in this order:

1. Tattered reputation (cost of good reputation: priceless)
2. Vet bill

and STILL may have to take the animal back and refund the money and still incur possible shipping fees since it appears that the condition of the animal is soley his fault.

Wow...all this when simply taking the animal back (if the seller was so positive that it was healthy) and incurring (possible) shipping fees would have been CHEAPER.

debating whether or not to post this.......ahh click POST!

:iagree:

Except at this point, it sounds as if the animal is in no condition to be shipped anywhere.

Anyone having a crypto test or giardia test done in the past, is that not a bit costly? Maybe it is the crypto part making it so expensive. I know with dogs having giardia, normal fecal test was all that was done from what I recall.

It is pretty expensive, but the reason probably is because the clinic most likely sent the test off to an outside laboratory to test the stool. Some clinics do their own acid-fast testing (the test that stains a sample and shows crypto) while others prefer to send off the sample. It can take a few days, and yes it's one of the more expenive ones.

Ok I got the snake back from the vet here is the Bill not the estimate .. unfortunatly the vet was very busy with an emergency ( i think it was a k-9 dog ) there was 3 cop cars in the lot .. The Vet gave me panacur to inject into his thought every day and said he will give me a written statement of the snakes poor health on sunday (his next day in the office) and he also said he will try to post to this thread himself he is a member here also so is it stands the snake is home .. was given IV fluids and got an enima ( i guess to get a stool sample ) now we can only wait and see if Zach does the rite thing
