In short, DON'T! Email notices are to ONLY alert you of a reply to your private message or your ad on this site. Replying to the email just wastes your time as it goes NOWHERE, and probably pisses off the person you thought you replied to when they think you just ignored them. So instead of complaining to me about your messages not being replied to from this site via email, please READ that email notice that plainly states what you need to do in order to reply to who you are trying to converse with.

Yeah, I know. They are a pain in the butt. But they pay the bills to keep my server running. Just a fact of life, I am afraid.

Want to get rid of them? Simple. Just become a Contributor level member or above and they will be gone. -> Please click HERE."

Is that too much for me to ask of you to keep this site running? Well, sorry about that. I too wish I could get everything for free. But alas.....

    =====================

Google Adsense ad revenue for December, 2025 was just $30 over the cost of the lease for the server running this site. So, in effect, the money providing the incentive for me to continue running this site is coming SOLELY from the paid memberships and sponsorships here. Which honestly ain't much....

Bad Guy Boamaster (Mark Venhorst)

I didn't even realize I put that in there. I meant to write inconsistently. He stated that she wasn't eating very consistently and that she was underweight. Sorry for the typo that kind of confused things and didn't make sense.

Also, in order to make your point more valid, vet reports would really help. You mentioned you would get them posted and I really think a lot of people believe you but just need to see the proof of what you are saying in order to make that belief more concrete.

I have never purchased snakes from Mark and have only purchased BoaMasters from him. I always had good conversations with Mark and he has always come off as a good guy. I really hope he comes to show his side of the story because I just can't picture Mark doing anything intentional.

I too had an issue with Mark sending a sick snake to me about a year ago.

I purchased a Jungle male from him that in his pics looked like a beautiful and healthy 2 year old male. I paid $250 + Shipping if memory serves, and was anxious to receive him being my first jump to a jungle at that time.

Upon receipt, he was extremely thin and lethargic. Almost looked like IBD if you ask me. I warmed him up and tried to feed him the next day with no luck. I came home later that night, and he was belly up.

Although Mark refunded my money, his "excuse" for sending such a sickly animal seemed a bit fabricated. He stated that the male had been breeding for months (hence the extreme weight loss), and that "His shipping guys" should not have sent him that way. Honestly, I think it was more than breeding that was the issue. This animals was obviously sick....and to say it shouldnt have been sent out (or sold for that matter) was an understatement.

Props to him for refunding me, but a bit scary that he ever even considered selling him in the first place.

Not trying to bash him...just an FYI for anyone looking to buy his stuff.

Hi, this is Joseph. I recently purchased a het albino female, a hypo female, and a jungle female. I'm happy with the hypo but the other two snakes I am disappointed with. The female jungle is really sick and she is mean. The female het albino will require surgery for the inflamed scent gland. I would really like to exchange those snakes for different one's or just get my money back. I don't know what your policy on returns is but let me know what you want to do.

Thanks,

Joseph

This email proves that I did email him on the May the 20th (the day after we got the snakes) and said that I wasn't happy with the het albino and jungle and that I would like to have a refund of some kind. Which I wasn't given.

How did you know it needed surgery with out taking it to the vet yet, if at all

I did some research online and it said that if it was swollen enough that it would need surgery. I also called a vet and they told me the same thing.

I will get the papers by the end of the day. I informed him that I would be sending them to him. I doubt I will get any kind of response out of him. I just want him to know that they were and are very sick snakes and that they were in this condition way before he even sent them to me.

They gave me a reciept for what I paid for but that's all. They are going to send us the official paper work today. As soon as I get it I will send it to Mark and post it on here for everybody to see.

Vets Always give you some kind of paper work at the visit. Even if it is just a check up. And if the results have to be sent out for testing, they give you a sheet saying the matter, stool, scraping etc is being sent out.

I'm not taking sides but I will say I've taken snakes to the vet and only received a receipt and no other paperwork more than once. heck I'm still waiting for copies of the necropsy report on my boa and that was over a month ago.

I never get receipts or paperwork from my vet unless I ask. I don't even pay till the end of the month as he just runs a tab for me. My vet is awesome I can walk into his clinic use just about any equipment I want. So it's very possible Allison didn't get any paperwork.

Please let my vet know this.

Has Mark been notified of this thread?
Not trying to be biased or anything. But I have dealt with Mark for years now. His cages/racks are excellent and I swear by them. I have also purchased animals from him. I can't say there was never an issue, but when there was he would work out something so neither was feeling lke the had been "got". These situations were few compared to the many times we have done business. I would do business with him again, especially for cages.
Now I might take fire for this; but when dealing with flippers you take some risks and Mark does flip as well as breed. Not saying all flippers are bad guys, not at all. I know of some that do very well. But buying an animal from a breeder you forgo the risks posed by flippers. The animals history and lineage are easily known with breeders.
Always, always check the TOS. And there's usually a reason a deal seems to good to be true. You get what you pay for.
I hope that Mark addresses the situation and posts here. I am also sorry for your experience, but that's how we learn best.
Please post every thing you have in regards to e-mails, text messages, and vet bills. If I were you I would also contact him (or attempt to) and let him know of this thread.

I let Mark know that I was going to post this on the BOI last week. I haven't gotten a response out of him. I have posted all of the emails that I have. I called my vet today and asked him about the papers again and he said it was going to be tommorow before he gets to it because he is so busy. I do have the bill for how much we paid for the medicine. I'll take a picture of it and put it on here later.
