In short, DON'T! Email notices are to ONLY alert you of a reply to your private message or your ad on this site. Replying to the email just wastes your time as it goes NOWHERE, and probably pisses off the person you thought you replied to when they think you just ignored them. So instead of complaining to me about your messages not being replied to from this site via email, please READ that email notice that plainly states what you need to do in order to reply to who you are trying to converse with.

Yeah, I know. They are a pain in the butt. But they pay the bills to keep my server running. Just a fact of life, I am afraid.

Want to get rid of them? Simple. Just become a Contributor level member or above and they will be gone. -> Please click HERE."

Is that too much for me to ask of you to keep this site running? Well, sorry about that. I too wish I could get everything for free. But alas.....

    =====================

Google Adsense ad revenue for December, 2025 was just $30 over the cost of the lease for the server running this site. So, in effect, the money providing the incentive for me to continue running this site is coming SOLELY from the paid memberships and sponsorships here. Which honestly ain't much....

Jeff,

Not taking sides at all, but you did lose out on the sale of 3 rack systems by not returning a couple emails that I sent you over the last few months.  The sad thing is, I probably won't buy a rack from you for a very, very long time, if ever, simply because they don't match the melamine ones that I did buy.

The reason I'm telling you this isn't to take sides at all, but I want you to know that you would likely increase sales dramatically, just by having someone there to talk to potential customers.  Right now, what you're doing is like having a car lot, full of nice, reasonably priced cars, but having no one there to sell them.

Not saying you're product isn't awesome, because I think it is, but take Daniel's advice, take the bull by the horns and let your company grow.

I personally find this whole thread a big waste of space! Jeff Ronne is arguably one of the best and most successful people in the WHOLE reptile industry! Weather you like him or not, that's a fact! He has produced some of the most outstanding Boas around. He consistently produces boas and has come up with breeding strategies that are unparalleled! That's a fact! Anyone that has tried to breed Boas knows how difficult and inconsistent they can be to breed.  He also started his own feeder rodent business. I have heard nothing but good things about Jeff's rodents!
I find it amazing how all of us can come here and put Jeff's business practices under a microscope, tell him he should do THIS.......No, wait Jeff......you should do it this way!! NO.....NO, If this were my business I would definitely change this!
I never realized that there were so many SUCCESSFUL entrepreneur's on this site. Now I know were to come when I need business advice.......I'll just ask all of you experts!
All of this GARBAGE because Jeff supposedly missed a phone call! No! Not in the least bit! Chris and Colleen or what ever your name is. You two obviously have something against Jeff or you would not be making such a big deal out of nothing! You have way to much time on your hands if you can write the equivalent of a copy of War and Peace with every
reply post! Get a LIFE. I'm done.

No joke. I'd personally advise Anthony to place his full name in his signature line, since that is the easiest way to ensure it's on every post/reply. Rich is a rather busy man at this time of year and generally doesn't have the time or patience to scan old replies to see if someone had previously posted his/her full name.

You guys have got to be kidding.  I have a post right before that with my full name.  This is ridiculous.  I was invited here because I heard it was a cool board, but it's the same as anything else.  You give some guy administrative rights, and he abuses it when he doesn't completely agree with what someone's saying.  This is to a discussion board, what Hitler was to the human race.

Forget it.  I don't need to post here if that's how it is.

Webslave, do you need my mother's maiden name here too?  How 'bout my SSN, DOB, Eye color, color of last stool? Anything else or will my full name and email address be OK?

Ken, I hear you.  I am new and didn't know that you had to attach it to every single post.

I don't really care for every Tom, Dick, and Harry on the internet to know my full name.  Besides, I could just say my name is Tyrone Washington and Rich would never know the difference.  The rule has a good idea behind it, but it's not practical.

I understand the rules, but personally, I think this one sucks and because of that, I will not be posting here on a regular basis.

my my....someone has some shed skin stuck to their rump today...

no one makes you post here, no one makes you even look at the site.

then you should know the reasoning of why it is REQUIRED.
Any Joe schmo with a vendetta can post bad stuff about you with a fake name.  Once the fake name has been discovered.....their post no longer has merit.  And probably will be erased.

Basically you are saying that you understand the rules....
but you don't want to post here because you don't want to post your name....because you don't believe in whatever it is you say.

In the past the board got really ugly because people with vendettas came and posted with fake names.

If you are SCARED to let every Tom Dick and Harry know who you are.....then maybe Tom Dick and Harry should be scared of you.  Because that should tell them that you have something to hide.

Personally even though my posts are stupid and make me look like an A$$hole......I still will put my full name because I HAVE NOTHING TO HIDE.  People may not like my character....BUT they also know I won't screw with them.  This is me....This is the way that I am...I have nothing to hide...Love it...Like it....Hate it...I do not care.

Just because you own this whole board you think you can do whatever you want to do to it?

SURPRISE -- YUP HE CAN !!!  IT IS HIS BOARD !!!

Anthony,

As someone has mentioned here, I just don't have the time to actually READ every message posted in every topic.  So many times, all I do is scan the messaegs to see if there is a full name within the message or as the registered user name.  Yup, that can be faked, but beyond requiring everyone signing on here to send me a birth certificate, everything I would try to do could be circumvented.

And no, no one gave me administrative rights here.  They came with the territory when I set this all up and opened the door to let YOU in.  Matter of fact, I have turned down requests from several people to help me moderate the BOI, but I feel that this is my responsibility alone.

I try to be as fair as humanly possibly, and sometimes may even make a mistake every decade or so. But you know what?  Nothing even requires me to be fair!  I just like to be that way.  But even with that, someone always seems to think I am unfair when I do something they don't understand or appreciate.

So in all fairness, if you don't like the way things are here, then you are not shackled to your keyboard and your browser is not locked permanently on this site.  You may have some valuable info to provide by participating and we would like you to share it with us, but we will not twist your arm to make you do so.

Good luck in whatever you decide to do.

Hey pal,

I don't believe in whatever it is I have to say?   WRONG.

You are flat out putting words in my mouth and for that, I think you should retract that statement and apologize, but this is the net, and you even said that you don't care if you look like an a-hole.

I have nothing to hide, if I did, I wouldn't have my website in my name, etc.  The thing is, if you feel protected because some guy puts "Bob Johnson" at the bottom of his post, you need to wake up!

If I did have something to hide, I could easily re-register under a different name or just use a fake name from the beginning.

The thing is, if you want to do business, fine, but I don't rely on a  chat room on the internet to get business.  If you want to buy something, you can go to my website and find out all you'll ever want to know.

Anyways, peace, I know you post on Bob's forum so I'll see you there.

I think Chris Eaton would be better of taking his business elsewhere.  That is his problem.  I would have to agree with everyone but Chris Eaton with the fact being if you want good quality you may have to wait a while.  That is what good quality is all about.  I have friends that have ordered from Jeff and were very happy.  I can tell you that I am planning on ordering from Jeff in the near future and will be just as satisfied even if it takes 6 months to get what I ordered.  The simple fact is that he is  busy man and can't build the amount of cages needed to keep them instock.  He is working out of his house trying to make a good living.  If he can't keep them instock then obviously that is a good thing.  His Cages are weel worth the wait.  And my opinion is if you want his cages Chris you should have tried a little harder and should have got a few other ways of getting in contact.  So quit knocking on the man that is trying his hardest to do good for himself and his business!  Jeff keep up the good work!!

Maybe it's just this thread, but how come we got infested lately with so many people whom can't seem to comprehend the rules?

I thought maybe by editing the message and leaving the info about the poster would be helpful, to let the person know that the message was purposely deleted.  And you can see where that got me.

Anyway, when I get time, I'm going to go through this entire thread and cut out anything that isn't pertinent to the topic, including the whining about my deleting messages that violate my rules.  And if anyone doesn't like it, TOUGH!

You know, if that was the case (you didn't have time to read it) that would be different.  But, it says above that you don't delete them if the comment is neutral.  That's why I said is was crap.  It's basically censorship.  But, it's your board and nope, you don't have to be fair.  I can respect that, but at the same time don't have to agree.

About having to leave my full name, I guess that's not much of a big deal, but it's the fact that you deleted my post after I have put my full name all over this forum the last couple of days...all to help the board members out.

So here's the end of it. You have a nice website, and I can understand your rules and I know you don't have to be fair, but for your benefit, you should try to be fair because people won't want to post if they know everything will be censored to your liking.  I will probably post here from time to time because it seems like a good place to check things out.

I have a couple things to say to everyone who I pissed off here.

I get your point.  But, it really seems like he deleted it because he didn't like what I said.  If you want to see what I mean, read the "Sticky" about that rule.

And finally, to Jeff Ronne, You've got a great product and I really wasn't trying to take sides...just wanted you to know that you're probably sitting on a gold mine and you should take full advantage.

Hell's bells!  And here he goes and posts yet another message without his name on it!

Unbelievable!

And when I delete it, wanna bet he'll be whining yet again that I did it just because I didn't like what he said?

Sheesh............

And no, posting your name *somewhere* else on this site does not put you in compliance with the name rule for every subsequent message you post.

Just as a note: I've been following this board for many months now. Up until this moment I have never posted an opinion about anything but I couldn't let this one go by.

I myself was deleted from this board months ago for not following the rules. I never got an explaination and never asked for one but I did go back and read the rules and found out I did something wrong and corrected it.
As with any public forum the need for rules is a must just to keep some kind of peace and order and show the same standards for all on a timely basis so no one gets slammed with accusations and false information by unnamed accusers. Sometimes this means to inforce certain rules accross the board so that accuser and accusee or even good samaritan has the same rights if the situation were reversed. Otherwise if you were the one in Jeffs position I'm sure you would want to know who is saying what about you. (Thus the Name rule)
Rich has taken it upon himself to solely enforce the rules on HIS BOI so that all people are considered equal no matter what position you are in. Accuser, Accusee or Good samaritan standing up for someone. Based on this, and I'm not speaking for anyone, I would want everyone treated with the same degree of discression no matter who they are or what position they are taking in the thread.
In my business dealings I base my impressions of people on the way they handle themselves in all situations. There are many people that have projected their feeling in all possible manners on this BOI  (Assuming many different positions) that I would never do business with because of the way they not only acted but because of the assumptions they were basing their thinking on.
To put it simply: Sitting behind a computer and basing a  broad assumption on the interpretation of some typed words without seeking clarification can quite often cause not only bad blood but also be a source of unnecessary agrivation that can easily be avoided with approaching a situation a little differently and having an open mind.
In this case the rules being inforced in a negative, positive or even good samaritan situation are (again in my opinion) being inforced fairly. As far as I can see, No one is being singled out here but the rules are being inforced and as far as Jeff is concerned, as the subject of this thread, I'm sure that he also appreciates the rules being inforced.
I've seen many times where threads were to be used as evidence in court cases and without the rules being inforced they would have meant absolutely nothing.
I guess in the end the final outcome, as always, will be governed by the old saying:
"Reality is Perception"
Everyone sees things their own way so I think that a good ability to interpret and ask questions is essenial in a situation like this. Knee jerk reactions only cause problems.
This may sound logical or like a bunch of BS but only the person reading it knows for sure.
All just my opinion.
Thanks
Mel Wright

OK, that's enough.

Here's why I didn't bother typing my name...

You said yourself (in the post at the top of the forum) that if a post had nothing negative or positive in it (neutral), it wouldn't be deleted.  It was neutral as far as Jeff Ronne is concerned, so I thought it was neutral.   That is one of two reasons why I didn't bother putting my name at the bottom.

The other reason is that I planned on that being deleted anyway, because you also said in this post, that you'd be deleting everything on this post that didn't have to do with Jeff Ronne as soon as you have a chance.  So, I was counting on it being deleted...I just wanted you to see it before you went through and deleted all this stuff.

Sorry,
Anthony Caponetto
