I think so...

I thought this wasn't the forum for personal attacks.  Why are you going out of your way to personally attack us?  Especially when we say somebody did a great job... there's just no material there.  How bout changing the channel and moving on to a positive note?  Not everythings a bummer, ya know.

Four days must be nice.  I remember receiving my first cage in four days.  But you know what...things happen.  People get busy.  Because I won't receive this next cage until the 21.  I ordered in on the first.  That is twenty one (21) days.  But I WILL NOT complain because I know sh!t happens.  People get busy.  You won't see me posting a whole big thing on customer service to ruin someones good name for no reason.

Ok Ritchie.... we've all inquired about stuff and got no answer.  We've all had pizza or chinese food not show up and the world didn't crumble in.  And?  Man, even the pizza place takes responsibility... what a great point.  They apologize... they don't say, HEY PROVE YOU CALLED US... YOU DIDN'T CALL US... IF YOU WOULDA CALLED US SURELY WE WOULDA GOTCHA A PIZZA HAHAHA OMG  If a big breeder doesn't get back to you it's probably because the snake is gone!  That's different than having an ongoing advertisement of availability.  There are lots of rules about false advertising and disclaimers, that are very loosely regarded in many industries, this being one of them.  

Yeah I think Jeff shouldn't lower himself to deal with customers.  I think you're right.  And I think you should be moving on if you aren't interested in what really happened.  I thought this was a forum for learning, rather than a cyclical churning of similar opinions.

No, its not premature for me to see the hedging or expect it.  It's like the guy said a bunch of posts back, the pattern is that when people do defend their position this vehemently it's usually cause they're telling the truth.  Do you seriously think I doubt what's going to show up on my phone bill?  When people get in this deep they have to justify their positions... when they're in danger of losing them they quickly start to grab another one.

OK, guys and gals. I received an e-mail a short time ago. And in it some good points were raised. This person brought up just how easily "proof" can be fabricated on-line. Proof that could very well be altered to substantiate one sides' claim. So I now realize that any "proof" posted, would go a long way to lending credence. However, it would not seal the deal. Because the doubt to it's validity would still be there and easily raised by the opponent. Thus, the point of credibilty becomes even more critical.

I drive truck for a living. I am very well versed in the business of delivering consumer goods. Regarding freight relocation, the type of goods (i.e: cages) being shipped, is marked as fragile and carried with claim insurance. There are also the matters of size, weight, crate dimensions, and total shipping path distance. Cages of any substantial size, for the most part are not shipped overnight. Somewhat due to packaging. Most overnight deliveries are delivered via a smaller company straight/box truck. Equivalent to a UPS or slightly larger U-Haul. Operated by one man. Due to liabilty factors, most common carriers will not ship this way. More specific freight carriers are generally reserved for this type of freight relocation. Overnight shipping is usually reserved for smaller packages that can easily be moved. If you don't care how the cage arrives, then you could ship overnight. Face it. Overnight carriers rush the packages in and out. And the risk for damage is ultra high.

Basically, all the parties involved have been given ample opportunity to express their sides. It is highly unlikely anyone here (myself included), will ever know the complete truth. What it comes down to know is the general tone in which each side has presented their argument. It is now up to the general public to formulate their own opinions regarding this matter based on the candor used by the involved parties. At this point, candor, tone, and credibility is highly critical. How y'all conducted yourselves is fully evident.

Let's put this all to rest. Shall we? Jeff has admitted to his shortcomings. He, through his own admissions, says there is a problem. That he needs a little work. He knows there is room for improvement. He is aware of it and working on it. What more can y'all ask for? How about sitting back and seeing if he follows through. I think everyone here has been given a chance in their lives to make changes. I know I have.

In closing, may I suggest:

Let's all agree to disagree and move on with our own lives.

Well i have read it all but wasnt going to say anything on this matter ... buttt .. lol i have been TO bizzy myself  but i hafta go with what John said on the shipping compainies on my cages noway would i ship overnight  Just due to size / weights alone mine "aint light" lol but i have several cages in the works heres soon that can only be shipped via airfreight over night if ya wanna hit the airport or have ground freight come to your house  or buisness and unload it there for you?ground runs avereage 4-5 days depending on locations cause well even though your cage is important with mine i feel safer this was and not to mention it will save the buyer A WAD OF $$$$ by ground freight.

ok but what i think this was about was a "response" to a call /email? well i myself as a selfemployed  contractor  of kitchens etc time is available at times and then theres times when i get lost  due to overwheming things all at once like 5 builders want kitchens in my yesterday and its already the day after tomorrow!!i do check my machine everyday and email more then everyday seems like at times  but when someone is bizzy there just bizzy esp if this is a "hobby or fulltime buis" things slip by sometimes but to acknowledge it and respond is what i do if or when i miss a email or a call  well anyway what was i sayoing ?? i have other work to do for Mon ... see what i mean?  so unless it was the fact you got a crap cage or dead animal or screwed for $ i think it would have been better approached on this topic as " Has anyone heard from the Boaphile " i cant seem to contact him ?if anyone can get up with him pls tell him to chk answering machine / email he has a customer etc.

Let me state some facts about Jeff Ronne SR. The Boaphile:
FACT: May 2001 I called Jeff Ronne when I came home from work and there was a big slimey pile of newborn boas that I was not expecting. I left a message on his machine between 3<img src="http://www.faunaclassifieds.com/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/wow.gif" border="0" valign="absmiddle" alt=':0'>0pm-3:15pm.Prior to that I tried contacting people I had purchased from, without reply. Before 3:30 pm.I received a call from Ronne SR. and advice that saved our neonates.
FACT: I had never purchased anything from Ronne SR.,he didn't know me, that was the first time we had ever talked,e-mail or verbal. He wanted my babies to survive. He wants everybodies babies to survive.
FACT:All the babies lived and thrived from his advice.          
FACT:We would talk @ least once a week about the health of the babies and what I should do.
FACT: I felt bad about Jeff Ronne SR. paying a major phone bill every month because I can talk forever.
Fact:Because he helped me so much ,I started buying rats from him.(I felt like I owed him) His rats g. for g. are the best.
FACT:He never even hinted that I owed him.
Fact:HE always got back to me within 48 Hrs.
So, you try to trash The Boaphile. That pisses me off.

QUICK RESEARCH REPORT ON BOAPHILE AND GREAT SUGGESTIONS I GOT ON FORUMS IN GENERAL.  
(I gotta take a minute to answer this information i got.  I've been trying to throw this together all morning before it gets stale and the week's started and... sorry if a bit disorganized...)
FREE ENTERPRISE AT WORK, BABIES!
(MAYBE EVERYONE ELSE ALREADY KNOWS THIS STUFF... but i doubt it?)

After seeing the private email solicitations happening to others, seeing the private email i'm getting in support of us AND Jeff, and the wildly escalating accusations I thought some research from independent sources was in order.  WHY ALL THE COMMOTION?

Here's what I found.  RE BOAPHILE:  It looks like Jeff Ronne is basically a nice guy who's way into boas and cages and freinds and family and means well but is overloaded.  It happens.  I see complaints and resolutions regarding product and delays.  I know a lot of people are starting to slip thru the cracks, and as a business man I think Jeff must care about that regardless, but still be overloaded.  That's the best take i have.  sometimes the reaction can make a person look guilty when he's not.  Jeff didn't actually create the commotion, but for some reason the forums are the eventual way people reach him and seem to be his preferred method of communication.

We got defensive less with regard to being blown off than being called liars.  I see that people see that... People also see the whole question/answer continuim (sp?) and why once a person gets bashed they continue to answer questions as though someone is interested in the answer, when they're really just inflammatory lead-ins to more commotion.  Also people tend to expect you to ignore the obvious personal attacks and flames, as they do, and jusdt go on and share information... which is really cool.

I'm guessing, from the feedback I have, that Jeff himself would like to know for sure if multiple messages slipped thru the cracks that cost him money, but after all the noise he's afraid to go there.  I'm happy to provide that information to him directly, and let him judge for himself.  If he's the guy everybody says he is, he'll just say... "Oh crap, I don't know what happened but you did call and i just didn't get the messages.  You didn't lie, I didn't lie."  Or not, either way its totally cool.  It is possible for the truth to be down the middle.  

REGARDING THE CAGE BUSINESS QUESTIONS:  Man, there's already COMPETITION OUT THERE, guys... this is why people want to protect the customers they have, because it sounds pretty thinly spread.  Ask your friends at the reptile shows how's buz?  The truth?  Popular hobby but everybody wants in on a small basis and they may not set the world on fire but they nibble the market share.

Then what happens is people copy your stuff... which is good for the market when supply is a problem.  I hadn't even considered anybody else's cages cause I'm not up on who's got what, didn't bother to call our previous vendor or others, just assumed his product line hadn't changed and sat around waiting for the one place I thought had what I wanted because I didn't have time for weeks after that to investigate options.  (that's one reason current customers are so valuable... they won't go elsewhere if you help them)  However, THERE ARE PEOPLE WHO WILL MAKE ANY CAGE YOU WANT!  Even in plastic.  Amazing.  Waterfalls all over the place, too... killer products out right now... even Chameleon Condo's... ThrowMama is thrilled!  haha

... go away for a few months and the next time you're shopping the product you want is all over the place.  You can get a company up and producing in months but the distribution is then the issue... and what's the real market?  Back ordered companies in this business do not necessarily mean there's a great enough demand to justify a huge manufacturing effort... itj ust means there are backed up suppliers who produce on a smaller scale.  I do think the big guys will go the way of plastic cages, though, and with whose design?  Maybe one of the current producers, or maybe an improved design, more readily adaptable to multiple use!  

KILLER FEEDBACK I GOT HERE!! - HOW TO KNOW WHO AND WHAT YOU'RE DEALING WITH
Ask their competition.  Ask the other guys, hey what do you hear about XYZ's product, customer service, whatever?  Now, mind you, everybody will prefer themselves, but if you hear the same thing from EVERYONE, both good and bad, it's probably pretty accurate.   Everyone knows their competition best, because they hear the complaints and they also know the good things they're up against and they may as well tell you ahead of time and try to sell you while they're got your attention.  

NEWSFLASH TO ME ABOUT FORUMS... Complaints about the forums, about which i admittedly know very little, have to do with a general discouragement of dissention.  (Man, there are more people reading and emailing than posting, though, that's for SURE!  what does that say about the range of the forum?  I'm not entirely sure but i think ENCOURAGING wide view is good, and not something to be afraid of.  Anyway, it's kind of like the democracy thing... a miniscule (spelling?) percentage of us actually vote but the rest are watching.  But NOT as many as the hits would make you think... maybe 20-25% at most, because of the repeat hits, some people hitting every 10 minutes to see whazzzz upppp?)  

SO HERE'S THE UNFAIR THING AND THE DAMAGE DONE BY THE COMMOTION TO THE GUY YOU THINK YOU'RE DEFENDING:  So a person posts a gripe.  The defenses start , attacking the griper.  Then the ensuing flaming serve to make the "gripee" look bad, when in reality, maybe it's just a mistake to begin with and the reason for the overreaction has nothing to do with the parties involved.  The complainer gets defensive, defends HIMSELF a little more, it looks like more of an attack, more flames, behind the scenes scrambling, posts deleted, stragegy changed...

HERE'S WHAT I LEARNED.  IT'S NOT ALWAYS WHAT IT SEEMS.  A person is not responsible for the quality of their defenders!  They think they're helping, so what can u do?  

WOW, it's all so not worth the effort for individuals mostly but good to throw u[p red flags and educate people about the system and what it is NOT good for.  THEN, THE UNFAIR THING in a FAIR FORUM is that ... ok... somebody wants to check out boaphile... they do a search... here's ALL THIS COMMOTION.  They probably won't read the defenses because now it's lost in there somewhere, or incomplete because it's been so diverted, and they'll probably read either just the first couple of pages or the big stuff... and they'll see all the other commotion and think... man, this is bad news.  NOT NECESSARILY SO.  Maybe the boaphile is not the bad news.  maybe the bad news was generated by the forum.  DID THAT SOUND LIKE DEFENDING JEFF?  Well, in the history of things this will get lost in the forum and unfortunately, a person may not see the eventual result, but just the commotion batted about by people OTHER than those involved, which IS unfair to the company at that point.  And if they go about it wrong, they actually make him look BAD.  When in reality, other defenders (or detractors) want nothing to do with this fray that's created and they are discouraged from even participating.  Interesting.  Moreover, BY CREATING THE COMMOTION YOU ACTUALLY DRAW OUT MORE NEGATIVE INFORMATION ABOUT THE PERSON YOU'RE DEFENDING INTO THE PUBLIC ARENA.  Wow.  Now that's not cool.  I don't like that we got drawn into that.  After a couple of posts I wasn't even talkin to Jeff, and there was NO WAY for an understanding.  You can tell a negative spiral when the agreeable points are ignored and the flames are fanned... and you can see what's up there.  But it's still negative overall.

HERE'S THE GREAT THING:  The people who are hogging the posts are not the majority view necessarily.  

HERE'S THE BETTER THING: people see through most of this and judge pretty clearly what's going on.  Hence their SILENCE unless occasionally they need help with something or want to help someone else with information... they really just ignore all the rest, which results in the ultimate BEST RESULT... no EFFECTIVENESS for those just wanting to squeek and cause problems.  BUT WHO SUFFERS THEN?  The forum itself, who would like to attract quality advertisers who may not see as many registrations and as wide a range of posts as they'd like for their product, but rather the same people returning multiple times to squeek.

AND, GET THIS!  ANOTHER MESSAGE... AMAZING... HERE'S THE WAY TO TEST THE FORUMS (and at this moment this board is specifically NOT the forum i'm referring to... nor does it matter in this case, but here's what i'm told... TRY IT):  

Remember a complaint.  Then a while later after everybody's forgotten it, go back and search (maybe even a year).  I'm told that negative inquiries/comments/complaints disappear.  the whole thread will just be POOF gone.  Then if you look to see who's advertising you might just find THE COMPANY IS NOW AN ADVERTISER.  Interesting information.  Now, being new I would assume, hey if they let the post stay now, why delete it later?  'CAUSE THEY BUILD UP!!!  

MORE GREAT INFO!!!  HERE'S A TEST OF THE TEST:  You're thinking... well yeah but they're old and maybe they're all deleted from that time frame.  NO.  Keep track of the time and you'll see the benign or positive stuff is still there from that exact time frame, with only very minor negatives allowed to remain.

I guess it would stand to reason, why would someone advertise somewhere they have complaints?  So forums want NOT to hurt advertisers, understandably, but just keep in mind that the search may be misleading, in whatever direction the forum is more "aware" and vigilant.

FREE ENTERPRISE, THOUGH.  THATS OK.  If people get good stuff out of it, they're entitled to do things their way cause they make it possible.

Overall, the biggest point i got from this was that there are people who routinely watch the forums, can tell you about all the players' agendas, histories, strong points, agendas, expertises, etc and have NEVER POSTED.  And when they do I'll bet they'll have some really good stuff to share, so it's too bad.

NO WAY I would've retained all that so there ya go.  
OK... I GOTTA GET TO WORK!!! AND PLEEEEEASE, even though I'm not a regular participant I totally appreciate feedback but it would be great if everybody could see what everybody thinks honestly.  And I'm actually sorry if Jeff got inundated with negatives that didn't necessarily apply,if this is just circumstances carried away.  But, dude, we really did try to call you and if you wanna know for sure I'll showya.

China Hut !!
Out of business? again?

Well two nights ago I called china hut.  The phone was busy.
No one aswered my calls because they were to busy.  There are other companies who are not as busy.  But since china hut specialized in schezuan I guess everyone wanted it.  Eiither that or they had a sick cook or something.
But alas....no matter how much I wanted schezuan from China Hut...I had to SETTLE for egg roll express.  There are people out there who think eggroll express is the best.  There are people out there who say they have the best customer service.  But I still prefer China hut.  Even though I NOW say that egg roll express is the best..... You can tell that I am still wanting China Hut.  I mean why else would I take the time to write this complaint about a phone that is too busy.

Anyway, I will write a complaint about China Hut.  Under the constitution of the United States of America.....I have every right to write this complaint.  So what if I just start attacking them?  I will just say that poor little innocent me has every right to post an ATTACK.  And if people start ATTACKING me....I will just say THEY attacked first.

hey I will just back up the chineese restaurant who delivered my food.  Even though I say that it is the best...everyone can see that I STILL want China Hut.  But maybe I rambled on long enough.  Maybe I have said enough stuff to cover up the fact that I am STILL WANTING CHINA HUT.

Shoot maybe I said enough stuff to cover up the fact that I attacked China Hut in the first place because of a simple unanswered phone call.

I think someone mentioned that China Hut was working on their phone problems.  But who cares.
I STILL WANT MY CAGES AND i WANT IT NOW whoops I meant chineese food.

Wow ritchie, i thought that that last post by colleen was a pretty proffessional and courteous way to end this whole thing without any more slinging.  But there you are instigating again.  Just like countless other threads here.  I guess the more you post the more your lack of character is apparent. We all know that if another chinese restaurant opened that blew china hutt away, you would dump china hutt in a second.  But i encourage you to keep digging <img src="http://www.faunaclassifieds.com/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/smile.gif" border="0" valign="absmiddle" alt=':)'>  You'll get the point soon enough.
 
God help us all...10 pages because of unreturned phone calls,let it go already. I live in New York City and less then 18 miles from ground zero. Every time I pick my son up from school I see kids who are missing one or both parents,aunts,uncles,grandparents and neighbors. The only person hurt here was Jeff.(he missed a sale)whoppy friggin doo.Lets get are priorities back in order and leave this guy alone.Who the heck are we to judge whether he's a good or bad bussinessman. His pocket book will tell that.

That saga was a way to end this thing? and you were complaining about my long posts.


1.  I tried to end it and I even APOLOGIZED to you for attacking you.  Colleen had to come to your rescue.

2. I tried to end it again by agreeing to disagree and "change the channel" NO SAGA INVOLVED  but she had to come back and do a whole speal about whatever.

I hope you see the similarity between my chineese food story and your complaint.
I hope you see that the  whole thing about the chineese food is not necessary....So is this thing about a darn phone call.
