Yeah, I know. They are a pain in the butt. But they pay the bills to keep my server running. Just a fact of life, I am afraid.

Want to get rid of them? Simple. Just become a Contributor level member or above and they will be gone. -> Please click HERE."

Is that too much for me to ask of you to keep this site running? Well, sorry about that. I too wish I could get everything for free. But alas.....

    =====================

Google Adsense ad revenue for December, 2025 was just $30 over the cost of the lease for the server running this site. So, in effect, the money providing the incentive for me to continue running this site is coming SOLELY from the paid memberships and sponsorships here. Which honestly ain't much....

Inquiry Bob Mcphee

Chris he should pay what he owes, he has some nice rare animals from you. I wish you the best of luck!

I have a single rare animal from Chris Nicholas.
I just wanted to explain something to everyone. I initially purchased a pair from Chris for $4k (1.0 motley het pewter and 0.1 '08 hypo het blood possible het type II anery)
I paid for the "rare" pair in full in a timely manner!
In the meantime I talked about getting a pair of '08 het blood boas. I initially was trying to purchase the female het blood, but Chris said he would only sell as a pair. I understood that and decided to get them. This pair was added onto the initial 4k making my balance 5k (pair of '08 het bloods $1k)

I paid Chris $4,300 ($4k on the "rare" pair and $300 on the het blood pair) on time and without a snag. Chris said he wanted to ship the group together (all four animals) so he could access the money I already gave him. When we arranged shipping over the phone I told him to keep the '08 het bloods and the extra $300 I had paid on them and only send the pair I had paid for. He told me that he was not going to be concerned with $700 owed, who would ruin their reputation over $700 after investing $4,300 is what Chris said to me. I agreed, telling him that I would pay him the $700 if he was willing to work with me a little bit as I knew I was going to be really short on expendable income in the near future. When I received the package there was an invoice in the box telling me that the balance owed of $700 was due October 1st. I was shocked as this was never mentioned when we talked- that was deadline #1. I was also going to try and pay Chris when I went to Tinley as I had a couple of animals I was supposed to deliver. I was called a couple of days before the show and that deal fell through. This was deadline #2. Then after Chris calling and texting me to oblivion I set a date for November 7th figuring that would be enough time to move a couple of more animals to pay him. I had a few more people interested in some animals but when it was time to finalize the deal things came up (as they often do) and they were now unable to commit to a purchase. That was deadline #3.
I posted last week that I would have him paid between Nov. 23-30. I hustled to make a few deals and once again fell short. I did manage to cut the debt in half for whatever that is worth.

Just a little information for those who are reading this. This may or may not be relevant. I know that in this online world we deal in some of us look a lot bigger than we really are. I work hard to portray a good clean image where doing business with is a pleasure, not a pain. In this situation I bit off more than I could chew! I use the money I earn from selling a few snakes to buy more snakes, and I sold a lot of choice animals to purchase this group from Chris. I am not a bigtime breeder, I am not financially set, I am not employed at this time (I ran a painting contracting business for 13 years, shut it down 2 years ago due to economic downturn, finished school and looking for a Career currently.)
I am just a regular old person who loves keeping boas, I am a husband, and a dad to three daughters. My wife makes $30k a year and I make very little if any for the past 2 years anyhow. Not much money for a family of 5. I spent $5k on snakes with Chris Nicholas, which is almost 20% of my family net yearly income. I know that it probably does not look like a very smart thing to do....but I believed in the project and knew I would probably be able to move a few animals to help cover the cost of the new project and that if everything worked out nice I would at least break even with a couple of litters down the road.
I know that some may read this thread and decide to steer clear of me in the future and I would totally understand that. That is the beauty of the information age, we can find just about anything out that we want. Thank god for the BOI, It has been a tremendous tool for me and has no doubt saved me a ton of trouble. I also know some will read this thread and be totally indifferent. But, honestly that is not what matters to me. What bugs me the most is that I was unable to close the deal with Chris without creating all of this negativity. I am to blame for not coming through. I went into the deal without knowing Chris personally and expecting to be treated the way I have treated every one of my customers in the past. I have never badgered my customers for money, I know that things come up, $hit happens, and sometimes people bite off way more than they can chew. I also know that I will be paid when they can do so. Maybe that is why I am in this predicament. I believe that everyone has the desire to do the right thing and handle their debt. With all the stresses of life why would I want to add to it by calling and/or texting/emailing daily. Well, lesson learned and I hope that there is a lesson in this thread that all of us can learn!

I think we have all experienced exactly where the market is at this time. For what it's worth, your acknowledgement of the debt, and honest attempt to pay it speaks to your character. Best of luck to you in the future.

Bob,

Once again you come on here and try to defend your irresponsibility. You purchased the animals, you decided to take them, what you fail to tell everyone is that you agreed on the whole deal in late July, so you had basically 5 months now to pay the balance, which you have missed.

Please stop looking for sympathy to clear your name, bottom line is that you are not a man of your word. Yes Bob the fourth deadline you missed, three of which you set.......

Bottom line, be so bold and tell me when I will be paid!!!

Chris , Did Bob send you $350? He mentioned he cut the debt in half in a previous post.

I would like to believe Bob's story , to me it would appear he is trying everything he can do. :shrug01:

Hey, Chris -

It has already been established that Bob owes you what he owes you. It has also been established without dispute that he has missed several deadlines. Is he lying when he says that:

1. He originally asked you to send only the one pair because he did not yet have the funds for the second one?
2. You sent him an invoice with a payment deadline that had not previously been discussed?
3. He offered to send the pair that he still has back to you, but you refused?

It does appear that he's trying to live up to his obligation, despite considerable difficulty, so I'd just like to know if this was a case of a buyer with eyes bigger than his wallet, or a seller trying to force a sale. I'm not trying to vilify anyone here, just looking for answers.

Mike,

Here are your answers........

1. Bob asked about not picking up the het bloods a few weeks after he committed to them, I actaully took them off of the market becuase he stated he was taking them. And he actually had money put down on that said pair.

2. Yes I applied the original deadline of Oct 1st, what he is failing to state is that this whole deal went down in late July. He received the entire package in early September. I felt that having known about the extra money and giving him an extra 3 weeks AFTER he had the snakes was fair. He then started this whole downward spiral about setting a date, then not coming through.

3. Yes he did offer to send the snakes back, after weeks of having them,I personally am not taking rock solid snakes back because he "has financial difficulties" Plus I do not know what he has as far as animals or the upkeep of his collection.

Mike, the bottom line is that Bob failed to live up to his part of the business transaction. I do not hate Bob I just think it is ridiculous the way this transpired.

This whole saga is not about Chris but about Bob...........I did my part above and beyond, Bob dropped the ball, and all I am asking is what I am owed, nothing more nothing less.

I just hope Bob does the right thing soon, so this can be put to bed.

So you sent them against Mr. McPhee's wishes having been informed well in advance that he was having financial difficulties, and are now throwing a fit that it's taking him a while to pay them off? If they are such great snakes, why not take them back and resell them? Sounds to me like Mr. McPhee is a stand up guy doing the best he can to make a situation right that could have been avoided if you had listened to him.

Are you saying $300 isn't enough to cover your time and trouble for holding this pair?

I offered the animals back several times, you said that was unacceptable. I told you that after I sent you the first $4,300 that I did not think I was going to be able to come up with the additional $700 very quickly. I also told you at that time to keep the additional pair of het bloods and keep the additional $300 I had paid on them. You sent the animals anyhow in order to obligate me for the additional $700.
Sounds like he made it very clear that he was at best unsure as to whether he would be able to raise the other funds.

Even though he told you he didn't think he could pay for them, you applied a 3 week deadline? Yeah, that sounds fair. Derek Roddy sent me some BHP's around the same time...I'll be sending him the balance tomorrow.

3. Yes he did offer to send the snakes back, after weeks of having them,I personally am not taking rock solid snakes back because he "has financial difficulties" Plus I do not know what he has as far as animals or the upkeep of his collection.
It's called quarantine....try it. I just took an animal back after a year because it had not been a solid feeder.

This is about Bob and Chris, as you were both involved in this deal. From the information in this thread, I'd actually feel more comfortable dealing with Bob than you. Just my $.02
