• In the past two days I have gotten emails asking about being requested to provide credit card info in order to register and also to make a post in the classifieds forums. PLEASE NOTE: In no instance will this site ask you for this sort of information. The only time any request for payment is made is if you choose to opt-in for a higher membership level, and that is done SOLELY through PayPal. Anything else is coming from a source other than this site. My guess is that this is coming through Google Adsense, but when I can get someone to send me a screen shot of this sort of request, I will know more.
  • Responding to email notices you receive.
    **************************************************
In short, DON'T! Email notices are to ONLY alert you of a reply to your private message or your ad on this site. Replying to the email just wastes your time as it goes NOWHERE, and probably pisses off the person you thought you replied to when they think you just ignored them. So instead of complaining to me about your messages not being replied to from this site via email, please READ that email notice that plainly states what you need to do in order to reply to who you are trying to converse with.

Bad Guy BOB SLOAN [email protected]

I have been talking to Harald. I found out who Bob was after I accepted the paypal. He emailed said he would take the snake and is sending the payment. It was quick and easy. Then I looked him up on the BOI.. I missed all the drama with him. I wouldn't have took the payment if I knew who he was..

It is helpful to do a quick BOI search prior to a transaction. If you're in the biz, a BOI search is part of due diligence to protect your money, your time, and your sanity.

I don't want to seem unsympathetic, it is terrible to go through this and get emails like you got, but next time do the search before you do the deal.

It is my fault. I honestly didn't think anything of it. I should have known when I didn't see a name. After he sent the paypal then he sent his name and shipping address.

LOL, Mr. SLoan is a joke... first he'll complain and tell you that you sent him a sick snake, then he'll threaten you stating he'll file claims in small claims court, and that your gonna have your "a**" handed to you, because your wrong and he's right. He's a joke.... we had a similar experience with him while working with dealer. He's just a big ole headache, full of himself. I would not worry.... well I would worry for the poor snake.

I am not worried about him at all.. He has had her for almost a week. No way do I want anything that has been in his care.

He has filed with paypal. Now I have to deal with this..

I'm pretty sure that as long as he received the snake, he won't succeed in getting the funds back through PayPal.....I could be wrong though.

All PayPal requires from you is a valid tracking number. If you have that, they will deny his claim.

He is not claiming he didn't get the snake.. Here is what he put..

6/1/2009 08:20 PDT - Buyer: The animal sent is physically damaged and is the incorrect sex.

Then the merchandise will have to be returned to you in order for him to get his refund. Call Pay Pal and let them know what is going on. Shipping will have to be done at his expense for the return trip.

I just got off the phone with paypal. He has no claim.. They will not dispute and item unless it was purchased on ebay. She told me not to worry about it.

well, you see Chris, it's like this...he's stuck!
Let him dispute it all he wants, seems like your covered.
I hope he show's up this weekend, as several vendors said they would like to talk with him.
Of course I would know him when he walks thru the door, and I'll walk him around and let him get re-aquainted with folks.
It will be like home-coming week.

Randal it does look like I am covered. I hope he visits the show. I am sure you guys will take good care of him.

So, i just visited [email protected] and found MY alterna photos in Mr. Sloan's "wanted" section!!! Of course he is using these photos without ever bothering to ask my permission.. (AKA.. Stole My Photos) I really dislike when people do that!

Mike ...all you have to do is contact the web server and inform them that he is using your photos w/o your permission. I was contacted by some one else with the same problem and they informed me that the site was shut down....unfortunately its easy enough to start up another free site............eventually he'll run out of those too.

Here are his feelings on the matter.. This is posted from his site... :shrug01:

***PLEASE NOTE***

A lot of people believe that, but it's not true. Copyright law was a little fuzzy on internet usage once upon a time, but it has since caught up to the new technology. Pictures that you take are your property, even if you don't have a copyright posted, legally there is one implied. They can't be used by anyone else unless they have permission to do so.

If you still have the original pictures and can prove (via a time stamp on the files) that they're yours, he's SOL.

I'd contact his web host and file a complaint.
