All sarcasm and jabs aside. Please take this response to heart as it is offerred for that reason.

You are right in saying that you and I have always gotten along well in our contacts at shows. I have nothing personal against you in any way. Our conversations have always been amiable and pleasant.

That said, let me address your hypothetical question. If my partner voluntarily participated in numerous and deliberate situations in which he defrauded, bilked money from and screwed over his customers for his own financial gain, I would end our business relationship instantly and do everything I could to drive him out of a business that I truly love being involved in. This industry has no room for the likes of a Sal Tornambene. Would I "kick him to the curb"? Absolutely not!. He would still be my friend. That would never change. Friendship is something I value above just about anything in life. I would do everything in my power to turn him around.

Now let me point out why you are getting so much grief for your association with Sal. I truly believe that no one can do anything but respect someone who sticks by a friend. That is laudable by anyones standards. The ****storm you get comes from your repeated attempts to defend his past and present business practices. Your statement above continues to do so "some sudden major problems and ended up not doing the right things for awhile". Neil, you know this isn't the case. Can all those people who started and posted on those threads be making things up? Come on!!! He was a wholesale thief and con artist under several different corporate names and committed wholesale fraud under all. And there is the crux. You have tied your own business reputation to his by your repeated defense of something that is completely indefensible....Sal's lack of business ethics.

That is the reason that your stock down here keeps declining. Be his friend Neil but keep keep your business as distant from his as possible. You are known by the company you keep. Constantly espousing him as a "changed man" accomplishes nothing but to further link your business name to his. He may produce high end animals in coming years but this industry has a long memory. I can guarantee you that the decent ethical people in this business will continue to pass him by until he manages to prove he has ethics and that will be a looooonnnnnggggg process after the crap he has pulled in the past

Last thought Neil. The fact that Sal now has a misguided individual with deep pockets funding his business does not make him any less a scumbag...he is now simply a well funded scumbag. Only time and a hell of a lot of effort on his part can erase that nickname

John.... How come you can't see that's EXACTLY what I'm doing, and HAVE been doing??.... I've never DEFENDED what he did, I thought it was dead wrong, that's why I did everything I could to make some of those people right, and it cost me a LOT of money (which Sal has repaid to the penny).... I just don't dwell in the past.... Granted, it's not a very long time (as it were), but Sal has made a significant change.... He KNOWS that THIS is his LAST shot in this business, if he screws ONE PERSON, his partner will leave and he will be done.... I've seen him do things for customers that I was very proud of.... I DID make a difference with him, and if things continue to go the way they are, he WILL end up as a very formidable person in this business.... he NOW has the financial backing to do it, IF IF IF he stays a good boy.... AND HE WILL IF I HAVE TO KILL HIM FIRST!!.... lol
