In short, DON'T! Email notices are to ONLY alert you of a reply to your private message or your ad on this site. Replying to the email just wastes your time as it goes NOWHERE, and probably pisses off the person you thought you replied to when they think you just ignored them. So instead of complaining to me about your messages not being replied to from this site via email, please READ that email notice that plainly states what you need to do in order to reply to who you are trying to converse with.

Yeah, I know. They are a pain in the butt. But they pay the bills to keep my server running. Just a fact of life, I am afraid.

Want to get rid of them? Simple. Just become a Contributor level member or above and they will be gone. -> Please click HERE."

Is that too much for me to ask of you to keep this site running? Well, sorry about that. I too wish I could get everything for free. But alas.....

    =====================

Google Adsense ad revenue for December, 2025 was just $30 over the cost of the lease for the server running this site. So, in effect, the money providing the incentive for me to continue running this site is coming SOLELY from the paid memberships and sponsorships here. Which honestly ain't much....

BRANDON AT REPTIRUS- REALLY BAD GUY.

Not to ad any gas to this out of control fire, but I am the person who recommended that Brittney come here. To be fair, I was under the impression that this transaction had an ongoing struggle, and that Brandon saying "tough peanuts" to working through any issues. I had *no* idea that this had all occured JUST YESTERDAY within the span of a few hours. I take FULL responsibility for not asking the timeline of events. I completely apologize for what is now, very evidently, terrible, terrible advise.

It's ok Debbie, you had no way to know the real deal, and maybe it was not such a bad thing after all, for this thread to be started. It did show the colors, of some, which can be useful.

Whew!!! I just got in and checked this thread, and I am VERY glad that this issue can be resolved! I am more than happy to take the geckos, give the female some liquid calcium, get them warm and feed them, and arrange shipping them back with Brandon after the Thanksgiving Holiday.

Brandon and Pat, I sincerely apologize for misinterpreting that the gecko was 'produced' by Pat, and not 'bred' by Pat, and thinking someone was lying. I also jumped the gun by ASSuming that was the case.

I hope that this can be a lesson for all of us in civility, humility, and patience. I also hope this will reconfirm what it is to provide good customer service, as well as be a good customer. Most of all, I hope the little gecko will thrive and bring joy to someone's heart as a beloved pet.

HAPPY THANKSGIVING!

Well said, Marcia. :yesnod:

Wow...that was quite a read. I'm glad this got solved, and I learned many things about business practices from reading this. I will say that I will never conduct business with Britney either as a buyer or a seller. I am glad that Brandon is getting his geckos back, and if the male is worth more than what he sold him for, he can always resell the male with the 66% het female that was mentioned. Best of luck to you Brandon, and I would have also requested a vet report (which she was unable to provide. If she had all the time to sit on here and post about you, she could have called the vet and asked them to fax it to you).

I just happened to be taking a break from tub/tank cleaning and read this reply about her not providing a vet report

Here is the posted vet report from page 5 as posted by Jim O

http://www.faunaclassifieds.com/for...324&page=3&pp=5

Well-for some reason-the link that I c/p to page 5 in my above post doesn't seem to be working

Sorry about that..........

:shrug01:

Ummmmmmmmm.....It was on page 3 and since I am done with my cleaning for tonight -I am going to bed before I make myself look more of an idiot than I already have

From my understanding she was only able to provide a picture of a vet report, not an actual copy. A picture is a step in the right direction, but he requested an actual copy. I would request one as well to have on file, especially if future contact with the vet is needed.

About the vet report, I did not care if it was a picture or a copy or what. I just wanted to be able to read the exact diagnosis written by the vet so I could figure out what was actually going on. The biggest problem wasnt really the vet report, I was patiently waiting it. The biggest problem was that this bad guy thread was opened only 6 hours after she had unpacked the gecko. There wasnt even a true attempt on her part to have this corrected before it was brought here. I actually have a voicemail still saved on my phone from her at 7pm, about discussing ways how we might be able to resolve this, which was over an hour after this thread was posted. The seller should have a chance to make what ever is wrong right, not get instantly drilled by a pack of hungry wolves over an honest mistake. Im glad its over now....

Brandon, no one made you out to be a bad guy except the OP. Questions were asked to find out what was what and to get to the bottom of something, that's what must be done. I saw this situation as an honest mistake on your part and one that you were willing to fix from the start. Only a blind person could miss that fact.

I can also see why Brittney was upset, but she did overreact. I don't know if she was impatient or just plain angry, but to me, she came across as unreasonable in some instances. But anyway, the situation got sorted out quickly and you can't really complain about that.

Brandon, as if often the case here, the OP ends up being the person that nobody will do business with, while the individual they tried to crucify gets to walk away. There was only one person in this thread that people will proceed with caution on and it's not you.

That is YOUR opinion and you are welcome to it.

You do not; however, speak for everyone. imo, they both have a "proceed with caution" sign on their backs. Both of them worked from an emotional standpoint which is not a sign of either a good businessman nor a good customer.

It's easy for anyone to say what they would do, but we are human (to coin another poster's phrase),...however, a good business man would have understood that the woman was UPSET and with all the cons and scamming going on he could have understood and worked from that standpoint.

Instead he immediately got defensive and it was all downhill from that point. Neither of them took Wilomn's advice to step away from the keyboard and think...so..I gotta say..imo, neither of them came up smelling of roses.

wow!!
:iagree:
couldnt have said it better!
BUT if anything positive came from this thread, i have to say if i EVER need or want geckos, i know a seller that i would definitely go to FIRST. Marcia is truly a class act after her help here.
respect

I see your point, Deb.....but in the beginning Brandon had already offered to make things right. She ignored that, and started a thread calling him not just a bad guy, but a "really bad guy". Now it's easy for any of us to sit here and say that we would have done things differently than Brandon did.......but if you had made an honest mistake, offered to make it right, and that was met with a REALLY nasty thread blasting you and your animals......and STILL trying to work with the customer, and every time you thought you could reach an agreeable settlement, the customer changed their mind and said it wasn't good enough or they wanted something different......well, I'm thinking I'd get pretty frustrated and maybe a litle bit stubborn and defensive too.

Even a "good businessman" as you say can only take so much before our human side kicks in.

This whole silly post really never had to happen.....Brandon offered to make things right in the beginning, before this post really even started....it should have ended there.

If Brandon had something posted for sale that I was interested in, I would not hesistate to contact him.

I agree with Cat. I do not think Brandon displayed bad guy behavior even if he was emotional. He is a fairly new breeder.. With time he will learn to deal with things like this.. In all fairness he wanted to square this problem way back in the beginning and was prodded into an emotional display.. Id buy from him if he had something I wanted to add to my collection..

I have made arrangements with Brittney to bring the geckos here this weekend. I will do my best to make a fair and objective assessment of the gecko's condition, and perhaps even consult my own vet for his opinion. Once I feel the gecko can be shipped safely back to Brandon, I will let him know so we can arrange that.

FWIW, both parties showed their 'backsides' in this situation and both feel remorse that it happened. Let's all just move on and have a good Thanksgiving... and not eat so much that there's not room for pumpkin pie!
