In short, DON'T! Email notices are to ONLY alert you of a reply to your private message or your ad on this site. Replying to the email just wastes your time as it goes NOWHERE, and probably pisses off the person you thought you replied to when they think you just ignored them. So instead of complaining to me about your messages not being replied to from this site via email, please READ that email notice that plainly states what you need to do in order to reply to who you are trying to converse with.

Yeah, I know. They are a pain in the butt. But they pay the bills to keep my server running. Just a fact of life, I am afraid.

Want to get rid of them? Simple. Just become a Contributor level member or above and they will be gone. -> Please click HERE."

Is that too much for me to ask of you to keep this site running? Well, sorry about that. I too wish I could get everything for free. But alas.....

    =====================

Google Adsense ad revenue for December, 2025 was just $30 over the cost of the lease for the server running this site. So, in effect, the money providing the incentive for me to continue running this site is coming SOLELY from the paid memberships and sponsorships here. Which honestly ain't much....

Briarpatch herps??????? AGAIN

Don't bother wasting your breath James, he's a proven scammer, countless shifty deals and stolen photos. A waste and drain on this business and humanity as a whole. He can try as hard as he likes to portray himself as a reputable seller, the NUMEROUS BOI bad guy threads here and everyones general perception of him speaks for itself. I can sit here and say "I am god" all I want, does that make me god? No. The only one he is convincing is himself. Don't worry about it, you're not telling us anything we don't already know :) Thanks for the info!

Thanks Chris.

I Figured I would ad my experience to the lot. I guess I was just spinning my wheels there with him. At least his behavior is no secret to those that come here. I feel I do owe him an apology about one thing. I made it clear in my last post that I did not like being called Jimmy, yet I referred to him as Bill. I see that he actually writes his name as William. So, William Horn, my apologies. I have a file I keep called "Bad Guys," and yes William, you are in there (under Bill Horn). Referring to you as Bill was not meant in anyway to show disrespect, it was simply the way your name was written in my file. Sorry for the mix up. I will make the proper changes to my file right away.

James Wilson

Just to add to this thread.
Someone had an ad on KS asking about buying female BP's.
I responded with a 560 gram yearling for sale and asked if they were interested.

Well, it turns out it's Briarpatch herps.

Evidently female yearling BP's only go for about $100 nowadays.

Where?
I don't see ANY females for $100 unless the are CH 05's.

Definitely not a CB 560 gram yearling female.

This guy contacted me about an ad I placed looking for Balls, he sent me a link to his auction and after I checked it out I dropped him a line that I wasn't interested in the animal and explained why....my best guess is I hurt his feelings because he made a B-line to Faunas BOI to blast me for 1) turning down the option to purchase 2) finding similar animals for less money than he wanted. Anyways, here are the emails and a photo of his animal and copy of the auction, judge for yourselves.

Female yearlings bring an average of $100 +/- each, at this time I currently have about 25 I'm raising and don't really need anymore. I realize the animal weighs 500 grams already but an educated breeder only uses females that are over 1200grams and close to or over three years in age..........it's not in the animals best interest for health and longevity to do otherwise.

Good luck trying to buy yearling females for $100. Especially if they are oddball ones.
You may get a CH 05 for $100 but not a 560 gram CB yearling.

And I do realize she is still too young to breed. You also stated you were looking for odd ones. She has a lot of blushing so I thought you might be interested.

No offense but she isn't what I would call odd looking, I also don't expect to find "odd" yearling females for $100..........I expect to find normal looking yearlings for that price and do so regularly - the 25 yearlings I mentioned to you previously are animals I purchased this year and paid between $100 and $150 for every single one of them. Check out Kingsnake.coms Ball Python classifieds and look at current pricing for 04 females............you are going to see some priced ungodly high but I guarantee you they never sell for that because a years worth of mice and rats simply isn't that expensive.

The female you have is a nice looking normal, by no means am I saying she's ugly or not worth anything.............what I am telling you is that there's absolutely nothing about her (that I could see in the photos) that a breeder would consider to be strange, odd, weird, abnormal or possibly genetic. Proving me wrong will be very easy once you sell the animal at her current size for substantially more than $150. True?

On a side note, from a breeders standpoint CH vs CB is a double edged sword, here's why......if you purchase and breed ALL normal CB Balls what's the chances of something genetic popping up? Damn near zero...........if you raise and breed a bunch of CH Balls what's the chances of something genetic popping up? VERY good and why? Because every single Ball morph there is originated from imported wild caught stock. The downside to CH babies is you occasionally wind up with pukers or they simply wont feed, these problems are seldom ever seen in CB animals. But once a CH animal is feeding regularly they will thrive every bit as good as CB animals do................it's the Bush babies and the WC adults that are a major pain in the ass!

This has really become drawn out and I feel like I've offended you...neither thing was my intention. What I should have simply done was briefly answered your original question "no thank you, I'm not interested" and kept all of my opinions and philosophies to myself..........I apologize for not doing so as well as for offending you.

Wm

Hi Billy?

Steal anymore photos to represent animals you're trying to sell lately?

Its a shame to see you're still out there.....

I will say this about Mr. Horn, he seems to have incredible staying power. Or should I say staining power? It does look like he has found new fertile feeding grounds with Reptibid.

I am going to make a banner for Reptibid, I'll even do it for free. The catchphrase? "Reptibid, the scammer's choice"

As for the SPJ transaction, I don't see what the real problem was there. William was offered a snake and turned it down, the end. Nothing really shady happened there. Some might disagree with what he thinks yearlings are worth but it's a matter of opinion.

Boy do I wish I never exchanged emails with this guy.

He is posting bad guy threads about me all over the net.

I gathered from reading about you that you were bad news, well, you're proving that now.

You did post here first, maybe if you hadn't of posted he wouldn't have posted about you.

His response was like he was talking to a person who had no idea what they were selling. IMO, that is poor taste. Trying to get something for less thinking the seller doesn't know what females go for on the market. Would I have sold it for $100? Probably to someone else but not him.

For what it's worth, I never said what price he should pay. I offered a female to see if he was interested.

I never would have done this had I know who's ad I was replying to.

I should have responded with he is back online again and left it at that.

Like Dragon Charm said, you did post here. In my opinion it was probably not a very good reason to post. But it was not like you went and started a thread either. You were just adding to one of his already existing bad threads. I will give you credit for that. I will also say that Mr. Horn had an opportunity to shine, and he blew it by acting like a petty little child and starting a whole new thread on you. That just makes him look even worse. Whatever small error you made is being overshadowed by William's complete lack of good judgment in regard to this matter. I would not worry about this. It is very apparent that he is just trying to just turn this into a p!$$!ng match with you at this point. You said what you wanted to say. I would reccomend you to walk away and let him continue to take pot shots at his own feet.

I also try to get everything at the lowest possible price the seller will part with it. Does it make good business sense to over pay? Of course not. If someone is in the game of breeding for profit they are going to buy stock as cheap as possible while trying to get the best quality possible, that's what the game is about. If the buyer and seller both agree that the offer is fair no one is being cheated, everyone feels that they made out well on the deal. He makes an offer, you reject it, he can either counter offer or walk away. It's just like haggling over a set of dishes at grandmas tag sale. Grandma doesn't take out an ad in the tagsale section the following weekend telling everyone in town to watch out for you because you tried to lowball her on some tupperware. Of course this is all IMO.

You are completely correct.

I never should have posted.

I got ticked because of who it was.

That was wrong. I should have ignored him. That was my fault.
